We warmly welcome you to one of Kensington's bet kept secrets.
This was my first time here for dinner. I really liked the food. It seems like the menu changes daily. The staff was friendly and attentive. I will definitely come back.
Excellent Steak and Chips - will definitely go back
Will give this place another chance despite the poor experience of last time. Food is usually fantastic but this time the dishes were mediocre. Desert was great and on the house though. Our waiter was there temporarily and couldn’t provide insights on the dishes when we ordered.
This is a jolly good place from pretty much every point of view.
Great food, nice prices and superb service.. it is a pity it’s really noisy!
Reliable local fixture with a good buzz of happy diners that make it warm and welcoming. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Back of the house booths recommended.
Amazing service, great vibe superb food and really lovely environment
Me and my friend enjoyed a pre xmas celebration at the Abingdon. The food and wine were delicious. This busy and buzzy restaurant always delivers high quality dishes.
Lovely food, everything was cooked to perfection and all four of us were very happy with what we ordered. Service was prompt and efficient, and there was a lovely cosy atmosphere, without too much background noise. We would definitely go back.
They added extra wine to the bill. It was removed when pointed out.
We had a delicious and enjoyable dinner at The Abingdon last Friday. The food was better than ever! The service was great and it was also a very nice atmosphere. I highly recommend this place
I always love dining at the Abingdon. It’s my fav pub in Kensington.
A perfect pub restaurant for meeting friends in an informal environment, with good food, friendly and efficient service, and quieter tables available.
Say at bar for dinner. Difficult to get service. Bartenders distracted though resto maybe 1/4 full. Still I like the casual elegance of Abingdon, going for years now b
We had the set lunch menu. The starter was excellent but both main courses lazy and poor.
The Abingdon is an excellent local with excellent food and very pleasant ambience
What a lovely find. Surpassed our expectations
I travel to London weekly from the US and the Abingdon is by far my favorite and go to place!
Always reliable. Sitting at the bar is very nice.
A very enjoyable evening. We were able to get a booth table which we like very much . Friendly service
Alas, I only make it to the Abingdon once a year - purely and simply because I live on a different land mass. But when I return to the UK and spend even a couple of nights in London, a trip to the Abingdon is a must. The atmosphere is easygoing and low-key, the space stylish, the staff are unfailingly good humored and accommodating, and the food is consistently wonderful - the menu varied, the portions generous without being excessive, the preparation and presentation outstanding. Above all, the cocktails, made by the peerless Luigi, are among the very best I've tasted in the UK - and I'm including the work of giants of the field like Dale DeGroff and Simon Difford in that estimation. Prepared with nuance and precision, Luigi's cocktails, especially his take on classics, are sublime - and he'll rise to a challenge. The Abingdon now has the feel of a local for me; I only wish that it were.
The food and service were outstanding! Nothing disappointed. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner, lovely wines and topped it off with a delicious dessert. One of my favorites!
From the outside it’s just a regular pub which from appearances looks like they’d serve a pie and a pint. But ... when you get inside.. it’s a beautiful restaurant serving exquisite food in a beautifully ambient atmosphere. Prices are okay and the wine list is non pretentious and affordable.
I will go back.
Our friends ordered steamed fish and the lady wanted duck. The latter is described as "pink" but when our friend asked for it to be medium the waiter said he would put medium to well. She asked him not to but to write it as medium. He seemed to know better, not the diner ! :-( It was exactly as she asked so she was right.
The gentlemen asked for the fish to be cooked some more as he considered it not cooked. He was told that was how it came. He was another waiter who also knew better than the diner ! Cooked a little more he was happy with it after.
Amazing . . .
Great neighborhood place with excellent food. Ate at the bar because I was alone but the bartenders were not friendly.
Very good food & service always meets expectations
The food was really good and made a pleasant change from the nearby chains. Service was excellent
Our favourite neighbourhood restaurant!
The place is enjoyable atmosphere, great food and nice service. The clientel is young and lively but the restaurant is not too noisy if you manage to ecure a booth at the back.
Excellent mother’s day lunch. Great staff-lovely beautiful smiley waitress. Delicious beef nice and pink and well carved which is rare. Top marks.
I had a great time at Abingdon with friends visiting me from France. Great food, although a bit too salty. Service was very friendly and professional. A place I definitely recommend.
Good Food, Pleasant atmosphere, Welcoming Staff.
Space could have been larger.
Really lovely as usual. Would recommend. Staff are first class. Standard is very high.
Reliably great spot for Sunday afternoon get-togethers!
good meu and great food.... but despite there being many free 'booth tables' the waiter insisted we needed to sit in the rather busy corridor area.... and the food was as always very good, however the value for money is poor ,,,very expensive ... even for kensingtn and the wine selection again good....albeit very pricey.
Taking a business contact for supper after a meeting, I recalled eating a couple of times at The Abingdon and enjoyed both visits. We arrived a little after 9pm and were greeted warmly and shown to a booth. Both of us ordered the beef fillet and were not disappointed; mine was medium rare and it was delicious and came with scrummy Savoy cabbage and tasty green beans (having opted to skip the mash potato). My colleague ordered medium to well done ( a sacrilege to my mind) but he said it was also very well cooked. We ordered a mouth-watering Argentinian Malbec to accompany it and were not disappointed. One sadness was a poor recommendation from he waiter as to wine which, having tried, we declined and opted for the Malbec. The main Course arrived in good time and would recommend the dish to others. We then planned to finish the wine by sharing a cheese plate (both being fans of cheese) but we’re very saddened to be informed that the cheese would come straight from the fridge! Disaster! There are few things worse in the world than cold tasteless cheese. We expressed our displeasure politely but clearly to the waiter. Other restaurants will leave a selection of cheese out at room temperature so that it can be enjoyed by customers as nature intended. Sadly, this was not true of The Abingdon. This, we had to select a pudding and both opted for the sticky toffee pud, which was fabulous to be fair. So, overall a pleasant meal with a couple of minor blemishes. Many thanks.
Food is good but not great. Nice ambience. Now they require 50 characters, hopefully that should do it.
This was my third visit to The Abingdon in the past 3 months. I think the word has gotten out, because it was PACKED! Nevertheless the staff was engaging and attentive, and each dish we sampled had personality and was properly cooked and finished. We were especially enamored of the appetizers. Over all, my party of 5 very much enjoyed the menu, the wine list, and the evening.
This great restaurant continues to be our favorite London restaurant. The beef dinner that is shared is amazing but our favorite is the sticky toffee pudding for dessert!!! Love the ambiance in the bar area too!
