They listened to the fact that I wanted an 'out of the way' table and the service was fab.

I booked this place as a surprise for my mums birthday and the staff couldn’t have made it more special! The food was outstanding and our waiter was exceptional delivering cocktails, Prosecco and a birthday brownie and ice cream. Would 10000% recommend anyone to come here for any occasion as it was really good value for money from the food and location!

Greeted warmly by the staff. Service very good and not too overbearing.
We asked to move tables when we realised how close we were to the live music - and this wasn’t a problem. We were moved straight away.
We had the brunch- good selection of food available- and a good sized portion. The desserts we had were delicious.
The singer was also really good.
We will definitely return.
Thank you

Really great service - the waitress we had was really lovely. The decor is really nice and seems like a good place to come for a drink if they do happy hour.

However, the food wasn't great at all. The cod in the tacos was really really overcooked and the chicken wings didn't seem fresh. The bacon in the burger was leather, the burger bun was stale and the patty overcooked and the buttermilk chicken was tough. Had the bill been 50% cheaper, it wouldn't have been as frustrating but £85 for that and drinks was a bit painful!

Kiko delivered brilliant service, he was jovial and attentive. Upon finding out that we were at brunch to celebrate my sister's birthday, he even brought out a complimentary birthday cake and a coffee for her, which really added to our experience. Brilliant service and excellent food!

The atmosphere was nice and lively. When the food came the portion was so small a little cold. We were disappointed. If you order the burgers you get value for money, but a few of us ordered crab linguine and it was like a starter and a little dry. We left quickly and went to a bar with bar snacks as we were still hungry.

Solid City option for Lunch or after work drinks. Good salads or fish and chip sand burgers for those needing a bit of grease after the night before. Service is good and on the occasion I was there, fun. Plenty of banter from our server. Solid for a fun city lunch.

Good food but while we had booked a table for 10 people the table we sat was really a table for 6 people. Some people could not attend and there were 7 of us so it was manageable. Somewhat noisy place.

It was my second time here for lunch and even if the food was ok, I was not happy with the cooking of some ingredients, the presentation of food is always nice and the people working here are nice too, but for the price of certain dishes, I feel the whole experience does not match the expectations.

I booked this for a 20 people staff lunch.
We pre-ordered our meal through the restaurant’s online form which they emailed to me.

Everyone said the door was delicious and the service was really quick (not rushed, but no waiting around which is excellent for a table of 20)

Huge thank you to the kitchen staff and waiters! We’re thinking of coming back for our Xmas lunch

I booked a table for a birthday dinner for 6 people, requested the bill after the meal was finished and the waitress was not seen again. The manager assisted to enable us to pay the bill. As we were leaving the bartender shouted, Oi! YOU DIDN’TPAY YOUR BILL! The manager was not present to witness this embarrassing and unacceptable behaviour. I requested to speak to the manager after explaining the bill was paid. The manager- Andrejas came out and apologised. I asked how staff could make such an assumption without investigation? The dining area was empty at this point, but the bar section was busy, many overheard and witnessed the incident. Andrejas compensated us for the embarrassment of the incident, however I feel this would not have happened if the waitress was available to complete the payment transaction. This was an unfortunate way to celebrate a birthday added to the fact everyone felt as though we were being profiled. I would not recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.

Snacks, small plates and sides were great. Wine and cocktails great also. The main were not well cooked or put together though. The staff were very helpful and changed one of our mains when requested. I generally did enjoy the vibe and my time there. Just shame about the quality of the main dish. So mixed review for me but they're almost there.

Quirky ambiance but very loud during lunch hours. Staff tries offer level of service that they aren't quite staffed for. Menu is broad and diverse but dishes are uneven - butternut squash salad only had a few chunks of squash - not sure what it would have been it chicken hadn't been added.

Wouldn’t recommend for a weekend evening, it was very quiet so lacked atmosphere (maybe busier weekdays with local business using it). Considering how quiet it was the service was incredibly slow, staff were nice but we repeatedly had to request service for drinks, food and the bill.
Food was average.

Disappointing food and service in a nice venue

I came to The Allegory for a business lunch a few days ago. The venue is spacious, and gorgeous, with a nice bar that I'm sure is popular in the evenings.

We were seated promptly (it was mostly empty for lunch), and ordered appetizers and mains. For starters we had the fried pepper squid and the avocado hummus flatbread. The pepper squid was perfectly cooked, though it lacked pepper. The flatbread was utterly stale, with the avocado hummus was tasty but meager.

As appetizers were cleared away, our server asked if we were ready for our mains. We said that we were, and then proceeded to wait for a half hour before our food arrived. Mind you the place was mostly empty, so there's no way the kitchen was backed up. It took so long that one of my colleagues had to leave, and asked to take away his main in a doggy bag. The staff was happy to oblige, but then actually packed the wrong main to go!

For us remaining to eat, the results were mixed. On the bright side, one colleague quite enjoyed the fish and chips. On my side, I had the misfortune to eat a rubbery burger. This was not a well-done burger (I hadn't specified and assumed that it would come the standard medium-well), this was a thoroughly-overcooked burger. Only with a large helping of ketchup was I able to get over how dry it was. My last colleague ordered a fish finger sandwich which he said was tasty, but in his words "it was a lot of sandwich, but the fish was scant."

Overall, with the slow service and disappointing food, I'm unlikely to come back for business or any other occasion. Maybe the cocktails are worth a try.

We had a 50% off food from open table that was Not honoured. The buttermilk chicken burger had a tiny pathetic piece of chicken that was literally soaked in oil. Cheesburger was bland... the meal was just horrible. Will not be going again.

Booked with 50% off offer on food. Arrived around 4pm on Saturday. Not many inside but a few sitting outside in the sun.

Took quite a while for them to take our drinks order, and the same with the food. Food was lovely and nicely presented. Extensive choice.

Service however was very slow.
