Terrible meal at The Allis, service dreadful, team totally inept. Food average at best. Felt like having lunch in a hotel lobby with staff that didn’t realise they had a restaurant to run.
Our whole experience was amazing! The food was delicious! The steak I had was cooked perfectly, so soft and tender. Service was great. Well looked after. Would definitely come back and would definitely recommend!
Really nice ambience, and definitely somewhere I will go to again when meeting people in that part of London.
I had The Allis breakfast with a bagel and it wasn't great. The bagel was dry with no butter given on the side, and it appeared to be a shop bought New York bagel which was just a bit bland really. The rest of the plate was also quite basic with not much to be excited about. I've had the smashed avo with eggs on toast from The Allis before which was better. The service was very slow, especially with the drinks, and half the table had to ask fro napkins and cutlery when the food appeared because the table was only half set up on arrival (despite booking the table in advance).
I would choose to go somewhere else for breakfast next time, sorry!
Drab food, inexpertly produced. Run a mile from the chicken milanese. Toddler sized bowl of tinned Heinz level spaghetti, alongside a burnt and dried out slab of chicken. OK for a drinking spot, but you'd fare better eating in a fast food joint first
Excellent service and lovely relaxed ambiance- will definitely be back!
Visited for the Sunday Roast, and again everything was perfect. Good portions, with perfect quality food. Service was impeccable. Highly recommended.
Wonderful service, better food and even better drinks!
Excellent service, we had a wonderful time!
Excellent service and drinks
The staff were friendly and attentive. We sampled the Sunday Roast dinner menu and was impressed with generous portion sizes and great tasting food. Would highly recommend!!
Cute place, food was good and good portion sizes. Little like you're eating in a hotel lobby, which you kind of are, but not as though there were tons of guests coming through.
Our party of 10 went there for drinks and nibbles - business occasion. All happy, we'll come back.
Friendly, fun surroundings. Food quality food. Busy without being crowded. Great atmosphere. The menu is not particularly inventive but the food is delicious
Service was great, we sat outside for drinks and then had dinner. Very attentive and relaxed. Food excellent!
Was very disappointed in Allis. It took over 30 minutes for my drinks order to be taken, then our starters arrived before our drinks had arrived. We had to chase up the drinks order 3 times and could see people who arrived and ordered after us, receiving their drinks - we had not ordered complicated drinks (one house press and one carafe of rosé). We both ordered the rib eye steak for our main - the most expensive item on the menu. This was incredibly disappointing. Both steaks were ordered as medium rare but both came well done. As well as this the steaks were incredibly oily, so were not enjoyable to eat at all.
Sadly no one asked how our meal was, to have the opportunity to let the staff know.
Considering our bill was £138, both service and food were disappointing and not what I would expect.
Very average - waited 20 minutes before they took our drinks orders, got those wrong. Had to send the bill back twice before it was correct. Had been looking forward to it but would not go back or recommend
Excellent as always
The Allis is fun, particularly on a Friday night when there is a jazz band. Not a great idea to sit near the entrance as you will be watching the people entering the club and feel that you are at the edge of a corridor. We booked a table for 8, and the seating was very low down, which is not great. However, the service is outstanding, the food very good. The drinks seem very expensive though and the bill was considerably higher than we had been expecting.
We were seated next to a stag do of about 20 lads, which in fairness to them they were perfectly well behaved. However, the waitress seemed entirely preoccupied with serving them beer after beer (at 10am). Waited nearly 40 minutes for food and were almost completey ignored (water never refilled and had to ask for my coffee twice). It was obvious the food had been sitting a while when I complained about the wait (avocado was turning brown). Really expected better and was uncomfortable complaining to the waitress over and over again in front of clients. No plans to ever dine here again!
The food was good, but the choice is a bit limited. The cod goujons were quite bland but the chicken salad was really yummy! Service was a bit slow but they were really friendly/helpful, so that wasn’t an issue. It’s a bit like having dinner in a hotel lobby though rather than a restaurant? Cool atmosphere otherwise.
Poor service, food was cold and didn’t taste that great. Very difficult to get the staffs attention. Asked them to remove the service charge on the bill as it was so poor.
Having been to the Allis several times before and it always being good we were looking forward to trying breakfast. We ended up with really disappointing slow service waiting 25 minutes just to get a cup of tea. The food was ok but nothing to write home about. Lunch is much better.
Unfortunately we were unable to make our reservation as we were stuck in a traffic jam on the M1 for 4 hours. We will book again when we are coming to see another show.
Very relaxed atmosphere with good food and service.
Lovely vibe and loved the decor.
Lovely decor and ambience.
Downmarked as we waited a very long time for our food to arrive. The waiter and then the Manager were very apologetic, they offered a discretionary discount and coffee.
Nice restaurant, very good service, Shame it was so quiet, might be better for lunch rather than dinner
Great atmosphere. Calm and warming. Everything was high spec and suited our needs. Service was attentive. Will definitely return
As always the food and service were excellent.
Our first visit here and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Service was good overall, and we loved the ambiance on a relatively quiet Sunday lunchtime
I came to check out the new Soho House bar and stayed for dinner before my gig at the The Empire... my octopus starter was perfectly cooked, and my burger was delicious but the bun fell apart almost immediately which meant I had to eat it with a knife and fork which was a shame...
Really nice chilled area for after work drinks and dinner. Great food and choice of drinks
The restaurant was quite empty, yet it took over ten minutes for a drink to come out at the start, which could have been delivered faster had the waiters not been stood around having a laugh. Ordered a cheeseburger - was not asked how it should be cooked, therefore by default it should be served medium, but the burger was cooked very rare. When we asked if it could be cooked some more, the waiter muttered under his breath, yet loud enough that he wanted us to hear, that we should have specified how it should have been cooked. No, we should have been asked when the order was taken. Had to ask for the bill twice before it was delivered. All in all, not great service.
Good restaurant, shame that Open Table did its best to ruin the evening by emailing me during the meal asking why I had not turned up for the reservation!
We had a great Saturday lunch with 8 of my family and a little one. We were looked after amazingly well and had a wonderful time in cool surroundings. Everyone was very impressed. Our waiter was brilliant and even turned the music down when our little one was sleeping.
Delicious food and good service. I’ll be back, thanks!
Although the food was slightly on the cold side - the sunday lunch was good value and there was plenty of it.
