Fanstastic. We couldn’t have the tasting menu as it wasn’t available for dinner. However we had a three course meal. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food is very creative and extremely delicious. Would highly recommend.

Heard about this restaurant after reading an article in the MEN on Vegan restaurants as me and my husband are doing Veganuary, the Allotment was highly recommended. Had the 3 course set meal and glass of the house red. Every course was outstanding and the service was fantastic, very enjoyable dinner date and will definitely return in the future.

Interesting take on vegan food. The mushroom pate was incredible served with the soup starter. Mains and sides were tasty, but the celeriac in the salad was a little burnt. Really didn't like the chilli in the chocolate desert and think the dish would be better without it. Very good priced with the set menu for veganuary. A bit too pricey if paying normal price IMO.

Vegan Haute Cuisine - amazing food worth a Micheline star but a very relaxed atmosphere, nothing intimidating about this place.

I am not a vegan, but thoroughly enjoyed the 10 course taster menu. The waitress kindly explained what each dish consisted of, which made it even more enjoyable. Each course was served on a different plate which complemented the food. I liked the “rustic” feeling of the restaurant and the relaxing atmosphere and music. Definitely hope to return.

This was our first visit to the Allotment for a 30th birthday meal. My partner and I went for all different dishes to give the menu a full spin. My starter of baked plantain ice cream and jerk billtong was delicious with the spices a perfect accompaniment for the ice cream, which struck me as very inventive as a starter. My only bug bear is that the cracker was a tad soft and had lost its crisp which would have added to the texture of the dish as a whole. The remainder of the meal was wonderful too, the confit potato dish is definitely worth trying - whoever knew potatoes could taste so good? The dessert of apple noodles with a yuzu sorbet was well balanced and that sorbet is just divine! My partner loved her warm whisky cream dessert too. As a vegan only place offering exceptional food I was blown away by the value for money and the service was also fab with all dishes explained and even some playlist recommendations to go away with. Thanks! We’ll be back for sure.

The food, as always, was amazing, but I feel like the venue is a little stark. Maybe plants might help. It just feels a little bare. However, the food speaks for itself and the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful.

We had a choice of 2 starters, 2 mains, and 2 desserts, there was a special 3 course for £20 that was exactly the same as the choices above. Just cheaper? Terrible experience, being Vegan I had looked so forward to visiting you since you opened and was terribly disappointed. The food was bland, very much of a much and to be honest just not very good. It didn'tlook too bad, but was just mushy crap. I cook Vegan food all the time and my basic stuff is miles better than those 2 available courses.
I just cannot understand how any restaurant can offer such poor variety, surely something was wrong that night with only 2 choices available. And the same, only 2 choices for all 3 courses ??
Sorry to be brutal but its how it was, couldn't get out of the place quick enough. No wonder it was very quiet even tho it was Saturday night.
Regards

Andy

We had the 10 course tasting menu. Wow it was awesome. We tried loads of things we had never eaten before and we were honestly blown away by the quality and thought behind all the dishes. The staff were lovely, friendly and really helpful. One of the best places I have ever eaten. A true foodie delight.

A truly impressive meal. We went for the 10 course taster menu and added the cheeseboard as an extra. All courses were Michelin star quality in my opinion and there were some truly delightful courses, presentation and attention to detail were off the scale. How can vegan food be so yummy???I only wish we lived nearer Manchester. Special occasions will be spent here from now on!

The staff were amazing and the food was lovely there just wasn’t much of it . We had two men in our party and as we left to go home they both said they were still hungry. We ordered the special menu for 4 and all the side dishes . When it came to dessert it was lost on a rather large plate and tasted grainy. Overall disappointing as we had tried several times to get into your Stockport restaurant . So when you opened in Manchester we were all very excited.

We had the Sunday roast. The sound was sadly over spiced. The main was lovely, but the portion size too small. The pannacote was too set and tasted a little unpleasant. The sorbet was gorgeous. The cheese board was interesting. The crackers though were a complete disaster.

This place has the potential to be great, but it definitely needs improvement right now.

We enjoyed a fantastic 10 course taster menu at The Allotment in December 2018. The food was incredible: beautiful, creative, enticing and delicious! Each course was different and interesting. The menu was very well thought out and each dish complimented each other very nicely indeed. The restaurant was very quiet, it felt cosy, romantic and calm. Overall a fantastic dining experience. The servers were very efficient, helpful and polite but there were limited interactions or opportunities to develop a rapport that would have added to the overall experience. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

Only one menu and the main meal TOFU on that menu wasn’t available, slow service, couples that entered one hour after we did got served before us, different size portions for similar meals.... wouldn’t return. I realise it’s new but unless they sort the teething issues out, it won’t last long.

I was excited to try the allotment being an all vegan restaurant, however I was disappointed at the lack of choice (one to be precise) as you would get more choice in any decent pub or non vegan restaurant.

The food was presented nicely. We had the spicy soup to start but it was so spicy they only give you a tiny portion as you wouldn’t be able to handle much as it’s too spicy.

The main was a huge let down and looking around it was for all other guests. The aubergine was so oily I could only handle one bite. The veg was stringy for some reason and the kale tasted too smoky it wasn’t nice. The waiters didn’t even ask how it was they just dashed the plates away from everyone they clearly knows not to ask as all tables had left their oily aubergine.

Then the desert was a strange concoction of flavours that didn’t go together at all.

We were so disappointed we went for a main meal at another restaurant after we left.
I’m afraud I wouldn’t go back or recommend.

I just love the Allotment and had been before in Stockport. We had a Xmas voucher for £40 or we probably couldn’t have afforded the £45 a head without drinks. It is superb food but at those prices it really is for special occasions or I would go on a regular basis. It’s a fantastic place otherwise.

A brilliant addition to the restaurant scene in Manchester, and that it’s also vegan is amazing - the perfect place for usually meat-eating foodies to go with vegan friends and family and feel well-treated!
Friendly relaxed service and fabby food; a choice of completely vegan tasting menus or comforting soup, spicy snacks and a “cheese” board. Great beers too.

We visited allotment in Lloyd Street Manchester City center for my husbands birthday, unfortunately that evening x 2 chefs and some front of house staff had called in sick .

Fortunately the chefs and waitress (who recognised us from a previous visit to theAllotment in Stockport) made us feel welcome and went out of their way to serve all customers without any lengthy waits.
I hope that you appreciate your staff for all the effort they put in to make your business a success.

we enjoyed a wonderful meal with exceptional service.
