It's all vegan but you wouldn't know it, I had the most perfect time with my wife and you will too (preferably not with my wife).
First time at the restaurant, it was lovely. We will defintley be going back again. Thank you for a lovely time.
Our first time dining here and wow it was fabulous! Will definitely be back again.
Lovely, friendly atmosphere and the food was amazing. We really enjoyed our afternoon and can’t wait to go back.
Absolutely love this restaurant, the food is so good and the staff are lovely! I was excited to see there were some new dishes to try on the menu since I was last there in the summer - it's a great place to go for imaginative, well-made, healthy vegan food.
Really enjoyed my meal ! Was amazing and loved the fact it was all gluten free . The way I like my vegan food . Healthy and wholesome and really great menu.
Service great too - will go again for sure .
Arrived to a very homely welcome, the food divine, staff pleasant ,attentive and knowledgeable. Will be returning.
Magic! Winter sharing platter - awesome - so tasty. Can’t wait to go back to try more 😍
The menu choices were varied, every course was excellent and the staff friendly and efficient.
We had a very lovely 3 course meal and wine for our anniversary last night. The venue itself is very cosy and has a really nice atmosphere. All staff were lovely and welcoming. The food was of a very high quality and the choices were really interesting and well presented. Definitely would recommend and also return!
Delicious and fancy food served by lively people. A lot of haute cuisine approaches but with some down home basics in there too. Very nice.
Stunning food and a friendly atmosphere. The baby glazed carrots with tahini and pomegranate were out of this world. Highly recommend the miso & maple hasselback, and the cauliflower wings. A great midweek lunch.
Delicious food as usual with outstanding service. I love coming to the Allotment!
Honestly, I was gutted it was not the experience I was hoping. When in Stockport, I loved it. Weirdly pumping out Xmas tunes, so loud I couldn’t hear my husband on the other side of the table. They seemed too busy - had to ask for drinks order to be taken. And the food - it’s like it can’t decide of it’s fine dining or something more casual. £6 for 4 tiny pieces of mushroom, versus the cauliflower you get a big bowl of. It was a birthday meal, so just feel a little disappointed. The service, while a bit slow, was good. Will try it again and hope for a better experience…
Good food and lots of nice options. Service was a little slow and realistically they needed more front of house staff.
Delicious food, plenty of choice, really nice and we will definitely be returning.
It's not as good as when I last visited in 2019 to be honest, when I raved about how amazing my food tasted. Some of the dishes felt like they lacked something (I had one that was mostly a butternut squash and needed some sauce or something to make it less dry) and the tastes weren't as rich or distinctive as I remembered them to be. Portions could also have been a bit more generous for the price. For instance, the desert we had was called a hazelnut slice but was in reality a few small triangles of hazelnut ganache. Cauliflower wings were great though.
Really enjoyed the amazing selection of food and ambience.
We had a family gathering to celebrate our daughters birthday. The setting is relaxing, the staff are attentive & the food is wonderful.
I would highly recommend this venue.
Lovely food. Liam, our waiter, was fantastic. Very lovely, friendly and welcoming.
Absolutely lovely meal and service. Great attentive staff, really nice decor and setting. Couldn't fault it. Excellent.
This was my first time in an exclusively vegan restaurant I'm vegan and I also have some food intolerances. It was so nice to be able to eat pretty much anything off the menu. We ordered loads and it was all delicious.
My two friends who aren't vegan also really enjoyed it.
I'm really looking forward to visiting again.
Went for a quiet after work meal with the mother. Fantastic quality, superb service by the lad working yesterday (and all the team), reasonably priced and as a meat eater found some new vegan dishes I liked. Would 100% recommend.
Really tasty dishes, all individually very flavourful and different from the other. Definitely underrated! Only thing I would fault is there were only two members of staff looking after the floor and at busy times that's a lot to ask of them. Management should hire more staff so they aren't so rushed and stretched.
Delicious vegan food and lovely staff. Second visit and will be back!
Very pleasant but quiet at lunch time on a Monday. Food was good, served in good time. No problems with service, pleasant and friendly despite 2 of party being non-vegan !
The food was delicious and well presented, slightly small portions than I expected.... But the overall experience was lovely 😍
Superb! Besides the christmas music mid November!
Very nice but double charged a tip after service was already included. Even after we had asked.
Really enjoyed meal at allotment, food and service was amazing!
Lovely place with stunning food, although the “large” plates are pretty small at £15 each. Definitely smaller than the average meal served in a restaurant/cafe. Most people would need that and a small plate which isn’t great value. Everything else was lovely, especially the service.
The ambient is lovely. Beautiful decorated, dimmed lights and a pleasant not too loud music in the background. Food was tasty and very nicely presented. I would recommend the share platter if first experience. The service was quick and the personnel very friendly and nice. I will definitely go back!
Some of the best food we've all had in ages! Every course was amazing!
Christmas music (slade!) whilst dining on November 12th.
Felt very clear they were fully booked. Service and feel quickly felt hurried. Multiple staff asking to take our order for each course. Was asked to leave the table as it was needed for another diner (granted we’d been in there for nearly two hours). We’d have potentially bought more drinks but they came with bill and card machine as were quickly relocated to the bar area.
This restaurant is the go-to vegan restaurant for myself and my partner. We love it here so much and have already talked about when we’re going to return for another meal because the food quality, the service AND the cocktails are simply incredible. It’s the kind of restaurant you want everyone to know about, but you also don’t want everyone to know about because it’s like a special place. Myself and my partner are always comfortable here which is also a big deal as we’re both LGBTQ+. Thank you, The Allotment for enjoyable meals every single time we’ve been
I hate to say this, but we were disappointed by the food. The menu sounded amazing, but did not live up to expectations. The tofu laksa was too hot, almost inedible for my husband. My tofu skewers were a bit tough and tasteless although the almond satay sauce was nice. I found the cauliflower undercooked and didn’t enjoy the seasoning on them or the sauce they came with. The one dish I did really enjoy was the sweetheart cabbage, which came with a really delicious pesto.
I would also love to see more fresher green ingredients on the menu, like salads etc, even as a side.
I love how you offer vegan and gluten free, but some dishes could do with tweaking.
Service was good, the young man who served us was very friendly.
Not sure we will come again sadly.
The starters where hit and missed, the "carrots salmon" where just 3 small crackers with some sad shaving of carrots. £6.50 really over priced.
The roasted cabbage was good idea but unfortunately the amount of oil coming from it was off putting.
Roasted carrots with tahini where way over cooked.
For my main
I was asked to change my food because they run out and that's okay it happens. For my laska soups I was offered chips instead. What is a bit odd but okay. Unfortunately there where undercooked and made my empty stomach even more upset.
After I receive my dinner it wasn't completely. They missed another element on my dish we wasn't the only table with the same problem.
The Side dish of roasted potatoes sounds good, but not when you receive 1 potato cut in quarter for £4.50
When we arrived the restaurant was very busy so we had to wait for our table for I think about 25 minutes. We didn't mind that too much as we understood it was busy but later, once the restaurant had emptied significantly, it became harder to understand why the service was taking so long. We gave our dessert order to two separate members of staff before discovering 15-20 minutes later that it had never been put on a ticket. A couple who came in after us were also seated before us and served their desserts before us despite ordering after us. The staff were nice and friendly about it and put the desserts on the house, but it was a shame to have to wait as long as we did.
The restaurant was pleasant, cosy and atmospheric enough though slightly more casual than intimate although it was enjoyable. The staff were very good and attentive and friendly. My main issue that let it down was the portion size of the main. I paid £13+ for a thai style curry with rice and a popadom. The curry/broth was tasty and actually very pleasant, however the rice on the side and the one broken popadom was simply not enough food. I understand there were sides too that we could have ordered but for £13 a curry with rice should be an adult portion of rice and this felt like a small child's portion of rice. I also think that one popadom was not enough and to have it already broken up on the plate was nothing short of unattractive. Why not serve me a complete popadom I can break myself rather than shards. To be honest I found the restaurant to be a let down after looking forward to it for while. After the meal as we went for our train I went straight to the shop to buy food because I was still really hungry after sharing 2 starters with my partner and having a main meal each. Unfortunately I don't see us returning.
It barely warm enough to take coats off.
Food was excellent, coffee was excellent. Even though it was very busy, most waiting on staff were attentive.
