First visit to the restaurant in Manchester, food and service were excellent. Went on a Sunday with the limited menu, but choice and quality were still very good.
Looking forward to my next visit. Would certainly recommend to all food lovers.
Fantastic Sunday dinner! Great value for money and the food was to die for. The staff were very attentive and made us feel very welcome. Beautiful decor. Highly recommend!
Sunday roast was excellent huge portions and fast service
Food was nice, just the portions were very small so had to order another large plate. So it ended up being a very expensive meal.
One waiter did not know how to communicate with us and did not apologise when did anything wrong.
Lovely evening, great ambience and decor. Bigger restaurant than it seems just off the main road.
Really nice food
Service was a little slow though
ooked forward to visiting The Allotment and enjoying a great vegan experience. Unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations.
The service, although friendly, was slow and lacking in attention. The food was average; tasty but not up to the standard expected for a highly rated and stylish restaurant. The bill, for two courses and wine, was almost the same paid at The Ivy recently and was in no way to the same quality or standard.
Overall very disappointing and, unfortunately, won’t be returning.
Really nice restaurant, well priced and tasty vegan food. Cocktails yummy too. Bit of a wait to get seated as staff were lighting candles. Otherwise excellent throughout.
Food was fantastic . I’m vegan but took my non vegan friend and she absolutely loved it and was really surprised at the quality and value. The sharing platter and bottle of wine deal was excellent value. Love it and will definitely go again
food was amazing, service was so friendly and quick
Lovely range of vegan dishes, tasty and well presented. Friendly service too.
Nice ingredients well presented in a contemporary setting
Really friendly, relaxed restaurant with good food and reasonable prices. Our waitress was lovely.
Wow will defo book again … everything we had was full of flavour defo going next time
Amazing food and very friendly staff. I love this place!
Friendly staff and lovely food from an interesting menu. We had to wait for our dessert order to be taken but only because the staff were very busy
The menu is limited but there’s still enough to choose from. We found the food to be very satisfying and the service was great. Restaurant staff were very pleasant. We’ll go again
Really good experience, our first Vegan meal. Service and food were outstanding, especially given the shortage of staff. The guys on duty were totally superb. as a restauranteur, I would employ them tomorrow!
Staff friendly & helpful . Food was dreadful, if the chef thought plating this up was acceptable then the owners need to find a new chef. The soup was tepid at best, the butternut squash starter was oily & overpowered with garlic, the roast were a joke. The brocolli was actually raw. The roast potatoes where like boulders with no edible potatoe in them& the "roast bakes" where basically mash with leek. The blueberry cheesecake was bought in & tasteless like water..waiter offered a free drink but we declined as mot big drinkers so gave us 20% off ..£50 for a very poor meal. Would not recommend. Menu needs more variety tan 4 choices & a lot more imagination . The venue was quite nice just needs the food to match.
Very lovely food and great staff. The food is quite expensive for what it is and there wasn’t enough of it. The Deseret was delicious!
Veg was raw on roast, no mango flavour on cauliflower steak as advertised, small portions and mint choc martini had no flavour of mint choc.
Waitress just said sorry and walked off! Not great.
Excellent, innovative food - great dining experience but a little noisy for us.
Absolutely beautiful food , lovely atmosphere most definitely recommend
Birthday treat for my daughter- recommended by a work colleague. It was perfect.
Great delicious food, staff is very friendly. Enjoyed my visit very much, thank you.
Great food. Some delays as very short staffed - the poor waiting staff were rushed off their feet but were trying their best!
I’ve been before and the food and service was amazing. This time however they were understaffed and we didn’t get seen to for around 30 minutes. The waitress was lovely and apologised on many occasions.
We had really high hopes for The Allotment but it really did not live up to the hype. The staff were really overstretched down to staffing issues but they were still taking walk-ins. We didn't get our plates cleared away after finishing our meals at all and we waited over 35 minutes just to get the bill. There were many others waiting too.
The food was sub-par. Unfortunately, it was not very flavourful at all, especially considering the cost. £13 for a tofu coconut curry, where one of our curries didn't have tofu added! But the server brought over a separate bowl and said 'here's some extra tofu' - it wasn't extra, it was part of the meal that hadn't been added. It was bland although had many chillies in it, it just didn't taste of much even though it was spicy.
The meal wasn't as described, it had a Thai feel to it as it was soupy but was served with brown rice and popadoms, so this didn't make sense to me for this type of curry. It was described as 'Malaysian' but I wouldn't say it was particularly Malaysian.
Overall, we left feeling short-changed. Definitely won't be returning.
Loved the food, flavours were amazing. Great friendly service and a really nice comfortable atmosphere to the place.
Great food, lovely staff (just not enough of them, they were run ragged and so the food took a while to come out).
They've got this place just right. An unfussy menu with albeit familiar dishes but excellent produce, deliciously made and sizeable portions. Beautiful cabin-esque decor with intimate but not isolated seating. Not feeling packed in, the place was full at 6.30 on a Friday and stayed that way. Really excellent service. We adored every course, and even the espressos were good. Too often elsewhere they're burnt. We prefer this iteration of Allotment to its haute cuisine and slightly pretentious fine dining forbear, which was nice, but now all the elements work well for a more relaxed, inexpensive yet thoroughly well produced experience.
Food was delicious and the service was excellent friendly and attentive would definitely eat here again and recommend it to people
Amazing vegan food and brilliant and quick service
Top vegan restaurant - great food, nice atmosphere but on the Sunday we visited it was an incredibly reduced Sunday menu (Brexit dividend?). Tbf, they called in advance to warn us but we'd already made arrangements and couldn't cancel. Will definitely return but need to ensure they've got the full menu available
The food was amazing. My girlfriend is usually quite picky with what she eats but she loved everything here. The dessert was phenomenal. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Ill definitely be going again.
We are from Poulton le fylde near Blackpool and find it very difficult to find anything vegan near us for sunday dinners. I loved the vibe and the food was lovely. We had the Leek and courgette soup? i think it was courgette? anyway it was delicious. For our main we had the aubergine steak sunday dinner, it was really good, only thing i would suggest that my partner mentioned was maybbe few extrta potatoes and another option of veg but apart from that tasted amazing. I know they had sold out after our dinner and it was only 3pm. So i would go earlier next time.
Delicious food, lovely vibes, friendly waiters! The roast dinner didn’t disappoint
From the moment we were met at the door until we left, the food the service and the ambience were second to non, we will most definitely be back - highly recommended, Bravo!
Food delicious, but not huge portions, sauces need to be thicker and more generous with tofu.
Excellent starter, dessert and service. Will go again
