Food is not consistent ...., small details missed which is so silly ie toast sent out NOT properly toasted !!! Slimy salad with a fab burger ( this happened 2 weeks on the trot)
Also mean portions for price

We like The Almanack because of its relaxed atmosphere, even with Covid restrictions that are well respected. The booths are positioned well so that everyone in your group feels included. The specials offer something a bit different from the regular menu where you can always find old faithfuls like fish and chips if you’re not feeling adventurous.

In these very strange times it all felt normal, food good, very clean, staff attentive and professional. Recommend

Seated in a side room and forgotten about, had to go and ask for menus. Ordered 6 main courses, one arrived 10 minutes after the others. Staff very polite and apologetic but not very efficient. Not up to the usual level of service.

A really lovely dinner for two - celebrating a birthday. Service very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Dinner superb, with good and varied menu choices.

65 pound for a 16oz steak for two no vale I think you need to take your balaclava off sort your menu out thanks

Excellent restaurant

Food and service was good, just found prices a little on the high side.

The food was mediocre at best. I had to remind the waitress after 30 minutes that we were waiting for our starters - a sharing board of olives, peppers and whitebait. Nothing complicated. The whitebait was dry and lukewarm. They had obviously been hanging around for a while waiting to be served. We all had burgers. They were ok but a bit dry, and the chips were white and limp. The waitress did not offer any sauces. My second G & T arrived in a tumbler, luckily I still had my first glass to pour it into. I remember when the Almanack first opened, it was such a cool, fun place and the food quality was excellent ‘bistro’ quality. The food is now as bland and dull as the decor and the service poor. Won’t be going back.

Average. Food was distinctly average, and felt like a cheaper offer than usual. Service was very detached. Ordered items that were missed, and no check back to be able to ask where they were.

Went for breakfast , everything well overcooked, service very slow.Manager took drinks off the bill due to breakfast being overcooked

Ideal meeting place for early supper with family passing through; children’s menu adequate & adult menu showed good variety.

Nice meal. Good service. Would have preferred staff wearing PPE given circumstances. Restaurant was set out well for social distancing though.

The lamb roast was delicious but the meal needed more gravy as it was a bit on the dry side and had to ask for extra. Lemon posset was delicious too. Bit on the pricey side and glad that I had a £20 off coupon

Great lively atmosphere on Christmas Eve. At first no Prosecco - they’d run out! But then someone obviously went shopping and they got a few bottles in-hurrah!!!

Birthday meal with family. Great choice of food. Excellent service by Ross. Birthday bottle of wine offer used....even better!

Very good roasts, went there with my Mum for Sunday lunch. It’s nice food but a bit too much of a modern pub vibe and really loud to think to go out of my way to go back, but if you’re a local a great place I’m sure.

The best Sunday lunch out in years...and as a diabetic vegetarian I recommend their veg wellington which was amazing, excellent flavours, well filled and minimal amount of pastry. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, and all looked as if they were enjoying their work!

Good food but not gastropub food

Great food as always - good menu and food beautifully cooked and well presented. Very busy and so it was very noisy. But otherwise a good evening.

We went for my birthday for lunch as a family with my two kids who are under 3. The Sunday roast was amazing and the staff went above and beyond to make the experience, especially our 2 year olds special and amazing. They also bring extra Yorkshire’s and roast potatoes!

My most visited restaurant outside of London. It never disappoints. Four of us enjoyed a lovely lunch sampling pie of the day, beer battered fish and chips, and salmon. Two of us ate off the lunch time menu which is great value for money. It was clean plates all round and very happy customers. The staff are great, always willing to check things with the kitchen and tweak things if possible. Highly recommend.

Always lovely to dine here. Staff are fantastic...great service without being in your face. Lunch time menu provides fantastic value for money and portion sizes are generous. We all had rib-eye gammon with poached egg and chips which was lovely but not the best thing I’ve eaten here ( the standard is high). Finished off with selection of ice cream and sorbet...all very good. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Roast dinners, lovely service from a polite team and a lovely atmosphere

The service was good, we struck up a good conversation with the waiter. The food came quickly, my steak was a little overdone but very dry, not succulent as you’d expect. The chips were ‘standard’, I’d expect something better than putting some frozen chips in a deep fat fryer for that price! The salad ‘just watercress’ was limp and I noticed from the open kitchen that almost every bit of food had been handled by the chef which isn’t great. Taking our drinks order was quick but delivering the actual drinks took up to 10 minutes sometimes. Overall good, but food quality seems to be slipping over the past 12 months.

I have eaten at the Almanack many times and it is always consitant. Great food choice and prepared well, extremley tasty and the service is excellent. The place has a great vibe and of course the bar is cool too. Their choice of drinks is excellent and the know how to mix a cocktail or do a realy nice gin. Highly recommended for business or pleasure, the manager clearly coaches his team well and it shows.

Can't fault the Almanak in Kenilworth.
Great service and excellent food.

Last time I ate here I had a lovely meal in the restaurant area but the only unbooked table this time was in the bar area which wasn't as great! There were dogs everywhere and the atmosphere was really loud to the point that we were unsure whether the barman understood our order. The food was good although last time I went there were some lovely skin on potato wedges served with the steak which seem to have disappeared....

Staff on the ball from when arrived right through, food was all very good, draft coke not so good my mistake not to ask for bottles but would use again every time in the area
