   Lovely Sunday lunch. Extra roast potatoes and yorkshires offered along with an extra gravy boat. Cauliflower cheese a bit rich for me but other than that great all round. Recommend.

   Four of us meet regularly for lunch and a natter. The Almanack did not disappoint, we were given a choice of tables and our drinks were served promptly. Our meals were promptly served and my friend loved the big chunky chips that came with her fish and chips. The tarte tatin for dessert was delicious and we loved the Smarties that came with our coffees. We would definitely go back again.

   Food is good quality but be prepared to be stung on price for starters and puds. Childrens main £7.50 which is OK, starter £5.50 for two small slices of garlic bread! Sadly being a bank holiday Monday so many items out of stock, advised as we ordered through menu. Poor excuse as clearly not planned supplies. Overall we eat here regularly and its a bit hit and miss. Sunday roasts are good :)

   Got to say this was a poor experience for Mother’s Day. Customer service was really bad all the way through. Took a drinks order when we first arrived and it took almost 30 mins to get a drink. Understaffed and the manager really didn’t care about the service when we mentioned it. The food was average for £20 I expected a lot more on the roast, the Yorkshire pudding was soft and really dry and the veg was under cooked and the roast potatoes / parsnip were cold and hard. For pudding the dessert’s were not great either my mum ordered an apple crumble and it came out as a berry crumble with very little crumble mixture. The two treacle tarts were cold and not very nice was more lemony and my wife had honeycomb ice cream and it was basically vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce mashed through it. Sorry to say not a great experience and I did mention this to the manager which did not offer any apology or sympathy just wanted the money which for 5 people £165 isn’t bad but not when the food was a average standard and cold and the service was poor. Sort it out guys !!!

    Excellent and very filling Sunday roast to celebrate Mother’s Day with my wife and three children. Great attentive service and a very relaxed atmosphere. Food was excellent.

    Have returned many times to The Almanack as we enjoy the atmosphere, excellent food and service. On this occasion we visited to have breakfast with family, as always the service was friendly, quick and efficient and the food was delicious (best veggie breakfast). There is a nice friendly atmosphere and the decor is lovely, the whole of the bar/restaurant is very clean.

    Both of our waitresses were good, Elle especially. the booths are good. House wine was also good. Proseccos a little pricy at £29. beer good. main course very good. Puddings were average.

    Father’s Day dinner. As usual excellent roast beef dinner although a tad colder than we would have liked. Beef and ale pie was excellent and extra gravy was no problem. Overall we enjoyed our visit and meals. Points to improve on drink service before meal Could be quicker and should/could be taken as you are seated.

    Booked a table for 4, but no table allocated so ended up in walk up area, opposite very noisy bus stop. Initial service very slow, improved later when less tables to serve. Peppercorn sauce not delivered with steak, ordered by app. On asking sauce still not delivered, so had to request a refund ( not offered).

    We asked for brown bread we were given white. We asked for our hot drinks with our breakfast, we like it hot hot. It came out instead within minutes. Waitress said she’ll bring out fresh hot drinks and some brown bread, nothing came. We would have happily paid the extra if necessary (when we paid, we rounded it up to the nearest pound and split he bill between the two of us.) The food wasn’t anything special. Tasted rather dry and quickly put together, tasted all from bookers. Shame, we were looking for a new lunch spot.

    The place, service and ambiance were all good, but t hi e menu choices were very limited and my friend who doesn’t eat red meat or fried food wanted fish. It was on the menu (I choice) but was not available. There was only then a veggie burger or a veggie curry to choose from. Shame really!

    We felt really COVID secure and the food was very good and served really hot with good hot beverages as well - no rush or over crowding so nice 2 hour lunch in large open dining room that you cannot achieve with smaller venues or many pubs

    Had Sunday dinner with my partner. The food was excellent and all the staff were very friendly. I love eating outdoors, but we didn't pick the best day with it being a little windy. Nothing the staff could do about that though!
