Best fish and chips iv had in along time good service very enjoyable lunch !
We booked the Angel to support local business. Unfortunately the food was some of the worst we have ever eaten. My steak was £22, and supposedly rare. I wouldn't have paid £5 for it. The parfait was like melted ice cream. Shan't be going back.
Very comfortable, food & service fantastic, highly recommend.
Small portion of turkey - sea bass small and very overdone.Service very very slow! Veg nice
The hotel has been done up nicely the staff are very pleasant, helpful and attentive. The lunch menu was somewhat disappointing and not the one shown on the OpenTable booking that came through. There was a festive 3 course menu on offer that looked good but we weren’t ready for that at midday. I had a steak which at £22 had a think sinew in the middle which made it hard to cut. Overall was disappointed won’t rush back
Very enjoyable lunch with good service and great value
Very impressed nice atmosphere pleasant staff felt safe re Covid
Thermometer too high for short people
We stayed at The Angel for two nights, Tuesday and Wednesday, and both evenings ate in. Both times we took advantage of the three courses for £15 offer - the food was excellent and the meals were outstanding value. On a more general note, we liked the feel of the hotel and in particular found the staff at the hotel very friendly and welcoming - this helped make it a very pleasant stay even in these odd times.
We decided to stay in the bar area for our meal as we had been comfortably seated and Covid secure for over an hour before our reservation time. The choice was reduced from normal, but balanced by a good set meal offer at £15 which we decided to eat from. We all had a good meal with well balanced portion sizes. The next morning (we stayed at the Angel that evening) we were in the dining area and were pleased with the decor there as well.
Beautiful place Beautiful food
Very helpful staff
Great selection of drinks
Great experience...well looked after by a delightful waitress, but every member of staff we came across was helpful & accommodating. The menu was good & food presentation excellent, duck parfait WOW.
Staff so friendly & welcoming in these difficult times. We felt very safe - temp taken on arrival, hand sanitiser, screens between tables, paper menus. Yet through it all the staff managed to create a warm welcoming atmosphere. Food was very good, & fairly priced. We will definitely go back as soon as we are able & thank the restaurant team for a great evening.
I love this place, amazing food especially the beef, always happy to return
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Good attention to safety with regard to Covid. Booths screened off, plenty of gel, temperature taken.
Meal good value.
I can’t recommend this place as there may not be enough room for me.
Excellent Sunday lunch at The Angel. Member if staff greets on entry, temperature taken, hands sanitised and checked in using NHS app. All done with minimum of fuss. Good choice of starters and roasts. Quality of food and service very, very good. An enjoyable experience which in these difficult times is no mean achievement. Will return in the near future.
Always a nice venue for lunch and appropriate COVID measures in place without detracting from the ambiance.
Excellent food with a good choice on the menu and specials menu, great service from the staff who are very friendly. Diners were at a minimum and spaced out and the hotel is very clean. We have come back a few times now and would highly recommend to anyone
Love it at the angle in Pershore staff friendly and love the food every time I go there without fail
Great overall. Nice seating, wife selection of drinks, good social distancing and pet friendly in the front bar
The Angel has managed to achieve a good safety level with out spoiling the restaurant feeling. Good food best days to go mon,tue weds when they offer a special price lunch deal.
Saturday lunch with a friend. Cauliflower and Stilton soup was superb followed by tasty ham sandwich. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Relaxed lunchtime with well spaced tables and friendly service
We were welcomed by the staff who gave us good service and sat us at a pleasant table. The roast dinner was well below anything I’ve cooked. The lamb was ok, but the beef tough. The vegetables were acceptable, although it was odd having cauliflower cheese mixed up with the other vegetables. The potatoes needed longer to crisp. As for the pudding, the cheese were very uninspiring except the blue cheese, and the lemon meringue pie was abominable. Goodness knows what the topping was , not meringue, and the lemon below tasted of nothing. Now lemon is a very easy taste to include in a recipe and strong and tasty . This pie had obviously not been made on the premises, and only deserved to be put in the dustbin! The chef should have tasted and be aware of any foods he buys in. Totally not acceptable. The only really nice part of the meal was the New Zealand Sauvignon blanc which was delicious.
Sunday lunch menu very poor no white meat i.e. pork or turkey/chicken.
Choice of beef or lamb. Beef very difficult to cut, veg selection presentation very poor all veg piled on top of cauliflower cheese and very over cooked.
We will not be returning.
Limited menu of which one option was sold out by 7.30. Lovely hotel and restaurant but need to plan stock levels better
Hotel was beautiful. Lovely surroundings and staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed Friday to Monday and ate several times. The food is out of this world! Every meal was outstanding. The room had everything we needed and if we needed extra we just asked. The only criticism we would have is the excess noise of the cleaners in the mornings, they made it very difficult for us to lay in. There was a lot of very loud conversations almost shouting to one another from one end of the corridor to another. Unfortunately also outside our room appeared to be used by them as a dumping ground for all the dirty laundry and rubbish bags when cleaning the rooms. This was like this every day! Apart from this we thoroughly enjoyed our stay
I don't usually order fish when I eat out, but went for cod loin with kale, sautéed potatoes and prawn and caper butter. It was just perfect.
I'm a huge fan of ciders and decided to try Orchard Theives, which was delightful.
Wonderfully quiet evening, incredible food and drink, and the I could not fault the service.
Delicious meal at an excellent price. Felt very safe with compliance to Govt guidelines. Tables well spaces out with measures for social distancing.
We've eaten here several times in the past under "normal" circumstances and have always been really pleased with food and service.
Lovely to see you open again.
One of my favourite places to visit
Even in Covid times the staff are wonderful and inside although screens are up it still looks in-keeping and you wouldn’t even know ...
Food always lovely too 😊
Had to wait quite a while for drinks and asked twice for the bill
We had the fish and meat platters. Everything delicious.
Very good service and food, good value for money but a limited choice of food compared to the menu shown on the website, hence three stars for the food.
Incredible meal. We went on a government night and got three luxury course for £10. Absolutely incredible tasting food and value for money! Staff were really attentive!
Staff very helpful.Food was very delicious Restaurant was spaced out in line with government guidelines. Will eat there again
Wonderful 3 course menu - plenty to choose from. Great place to eat.
We decided to go to the Angel for a Sunday roast as a treat. We hadn’t been out for over 4 months and always enjoyed the Angel. We’ve used it for occasions for many years.
Unfortunately we didn’t have a great experience. The meat was full of fat, gravy was cold with a skin on the top. The vegetables were nice and cauliflower cheese was delicious. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and has dessert. Chocolate tart had a curdled texture and the Eton mess portion was tiny! overall we were really disappointed. We paid just under £60 for 2 mains, 2 desserts & 2 drinks.
We will be hesitant to visit again anytime soon.
A bit lonely .
Would have preferred more of a crowd
Looked after us from when walked through the door , have made the bar area feel really safe with panels around tables , service was good all non contact and food was fantastic , best fish and chip we have had out for a long time .
Will defiantly be back .
