Great atmosphere service and food. Fish pie and fish and chips were amazing.
Good restaurant! The staff is incredibly nice and the food is good, both in quality and in value. The location is lovely but the noise is a bit much
Steak wasn’t cooked had to send it back ‘ there was a jug of water on the table which was from the previous people & was poured into my glass
Great place for eating out. The food was amazing Beyond my expectations I’d definitely back again.
Yet again fantastic service and good food on a convivial atmosphere.
Fabulous atmosphere for early on Friday evening. Very attentive and helpful waitresses. Excellent food. Noise levels high, but it was probably the busiest time of the week &, as requested in the booking, we were shown to one of the quietest tables. Recommended!
First time dining here. We were going to the theatre so good to see a pre-theatre menu which was good value. Service good and efficient, even though our waitress mentioned it was her first day at the job, she was professional, had a good manner and checked we had everything we needed. All in all, a good first experience.
Fantastic meal and excellent service
First time to eat with you good atmosphere and delicious food but it was served really quickly from giving our order the starters arrived with 5 mins followed very quickly with the mains so felt rushed and over too soon not exactly making a night of it !
Perfect place for a meal before a show at the Palace theatre. Great service and very friendly staff.
Booked a table here for 2 on Saturday at 8PM, was seated very quickly and had a good selection of food that was available. We both went for chicken breast and was served very quickly! The chestnut sauce that came with it was absolutely beautiful and I would definitely recommend it😍 shame about their was no brownie available to have otherwise I would of ordered it but again I would come back again!
Thanks Zekiel01 for your 5 star review - it means a lot to hear good feedback and we'll pass the message on to all the team here at The Anthologist. We hope to see you very soon! Many Thanks Lucy
Our first visit but will book again had a very good experience
Lovely restaurant and great service
Excellect service and food. Great relaxing atmosphere.
Lovely menu - great atmosphere - not too noisy near the bar - a bit noisier near the entrance - lovely outside seating area - highly recommend it for pre theatre dining 👏👏👏
The food was nice (not brilliant but fine) however for a meal with friends it was far too loud. I didn’t realise there was no separation between bar and restaurant area so too noisy to have a good conversation.
Better places to have a meal on a Saturday night - but the drinks looked great if that’s what you do fancy.
Great central location. Perfect Pre theatre dinner with friends. Really nice menu and great service.
Guinea Fowl special was lovely! Great service & nice surroundings
Great service good food but music too loud even at 5.30pm
Hi Sara, Thank you for your 4* review, I'm so pleased you enjoyed both the food and service. I apologise that you found the music too loud, I do hope this doesn't put you off from returning to us! Many Thanks Lucy
Pleasant setting, inside & out. Food choice & quality excellent.
Thanks for your feedback and I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit and you would recommend us. We hope to see you again very soon! Many Thanks The Anthologist x
Enjoyed the pre-theatre experience. The atmosphere was lively, staff were attentive. My wife’s food was good, my main course less so. The batter on the fish and chips was undercooked and soggy which spoilt the meal. Overall though a good time.
Hi Arthurm, Thank you for leaving your review, we are so pleased you enjoyed your pre-theatre experience. I'm sorry to hear that our fish and chips wasn't up to our usual standards. We do hope this hasn't put you off visiting us again. We hope to see you soon Many Thanks Lucy
There was a great selection of food and very diverse. Excellent.

Very welcoming place with a lovely chatty ambience and chilled background music. Seated quickly and served at the right pace for 3 course meal. Lovely open kitchen; food was very tasty and good range for vegetarians. Will return

Met a friend here for pre-theatre concert meal. We chose from the pre-theatre menu, which had a great variety of choices for carnivores, pescatarians, and vegetarian/vegans alike. This menu is also very well priced. We were attentively serviced by friendly waiting staff. Would definitely go again. Thanks to all the Anthologist and Drake & Morgan staff.

The restaurant was full of colour and had a nice relaxed feel. Being a Monday evening it was quiet but chilled. Beautiful decor I must say and most comfortable. The food was ok and service prompt. I had grilled swordfish on a bed of mango salad. It was a little overdone. All in very tasty. Would I recommend? Yes probably.
Very pretty and very good food and drinks so I recommend a visit. My only qualms were how loud it was (you did have to shout over the table) and it was a bit of a struggle to find a waiter to pay the bill but it will have felt worse as we were in a hurry. Overall, great place I'll go back again!
Hi Annie, Thank you for your review and we are so pleased to hear that you would recommend us! I am sorry you found it a bit loud, we do get a little busy on an evening and weekend! We do hope to see you again soon! Many Thanks Lucy
The non-alcoholic drink I ordered was virtually tasteless. The restaurant was far too noisy for us - the combination of an eating area and a bar area probably contributed to the high noise level. The fish pie I ordered lacked seasoning. We had to wait 45 minutes before our starter arrived which is unacceptable as the restaurant at that particular time wasn't busy. Overall a disappointing experience.

The shell in the korean steak taco was quite stale and ruined the whole taste of it.

The bar was very noisy but that was to be expected for early Friday evening. The service & food were both very good. I’d highly recommend the menu.
Hi Steve Thank you for your lovely words. We love hearing back from our customers, and yes we can get quite lively on a Friday. I look forward to welcoming you again soon. Jo
great service and with a smile. the staff could not do enough for us. the menu was limited but very impressive and for the price just amazing.
Hi Carol Thank you so much for your kind words. The time will be delighted to hear your feedback. I really do hope to see you again soon. Kind regards Jo
Great service. Nice ambience and good value for money.
Absolutely top notch in all area's good value to the money. The waitress was friendly and very professional 5 star
Fairly standard bar menu, (pre?) cooked very quickly. Service was fine. Relatively pricey for what you get. Comfortable/ clean modern spacious bar and seating.
It was our first visit and we enjoyed it. The service was good and so was the food. The only negative was the "music". I like dance music but when you can only hear the baseline, it becomes somewhat tedious and then annoying.
Too noisy for a comfortable dining experience, more like a bar than a restaurant
Dinner before theatre so needed quick service, good food and wine. All met
Thanks for your review, so glad you enjoyed your visit. We hope to see you again very soon! Kind regards Lucy
Loved it, the food was excellent and the atmosphere was fantastic
We had a great evening overall. The restaurant accommodated our slight lateness due the horrible manc traffic. Food and drinks were good..the duck salad was a little heavy on onions however it was well presented. The restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere. We intend to go back and explore the menu. Phill & Claudia
Thanks for your review, so glad you enjoyed your visit and our nice relaxed atmosphere. Please come and see us again soon. Kind regards Tara
