The Antler Steakhouse - Deerhurst Resort
Deerhurst’s popular summer steakhouse, The Antler, is definitely geared to the carnivore crowd. In addition to the exceptional selection of AAA Canadian steaks, this year’s dinner menu tempts with a 40 oz. Tomahawk steak or the to-die-for pan seared Japanese Kobe striploin steak. For adventurous tastes, tuck in the Braised Bison Short Rib or triple your flavour experience with our Mixed Grill Tasting featuring Roast White Stripe lamb chops, wild boar sausage and braised game bison. On the lighter side, fish, fowl and pasta dishes make for perfect choices after a crisp salad or classic appetizer.
Stacked Caesar Salad
Deerhurst garlic cream dressing, parmesan crisps, crushed black pepper maple-cured bacon, herb focaccia
8 oz AAA Beef Tenderloin
Mac and Cheese
Smoked cheese, espelette dust
The steak was excellent. The pasta dish was good, however a little tasteless. The mushroom soup was good but was not hot oh, and the soup Bowl should have been hot. Overall service was great oh, and good value for your dollar. We will definitely go there again
Fabulous menu, beef tenderloin done to perfection, mussels delicious- wonderful dipping sauce, halibut flaky and tender. Great presentation.
As always great service and Stephanie always checks in to see how you are doing and offers her assistance for future bookings.
Our server Jodie was pleasantly attentive and appeared at the appropriate times, and asked the very question we had in mind. She was efficient and professional. Stephanie and other servers made sure we had what we needed and were comfortable.
The meal could not have been better. The evening was a long awaited treat for us and we enjoyed every bite, saving some for another day. I'd like to rave about the mac & cheese, with espelette dust.....which I had not discovered. Enjoying spicy food I was tempted to try it and was pleasantly surprised.
Thanks again, Rory for another wonderful menu, and to the dining staff for another memorable experience at Antler!
We ate here for a second night in a row. The restaurant was not busy at all and yet our appetizers were delivered cold. Our steaks were very good. It was stated that there was no shuttle service available due to covid. Half was through our Meal I watched a shuttle drop off a bunch of hotel guests. I asked our server if there was a shuttle and she confirmed that there was a shuttle. It puts a damper on your day when you cannot enjoy a few cocktails before going out for dinner at a resort of this caliber because you have to drive to the restaurant.
The food and service was excellent. Would highly recommend.
The Antler is basically a golf clubhouse restaurant. No real Ambiance, nothing cozy. The steaks are excellent and the service is ok. I had to go find my own pepper grinder because no table check was done by our server. All in all a good meal and we will return.
Friendly service and very delicious entrees cooked to perfection with amazing flavours! Awesome!
Asked for med rare steak received well done. Steak rested on whole mushrooms and a sauce. Mushroom came flying out when I tried to cut the tough steak. Almost wore it. First meal after pandamic. Very sad. Expensive and not very goid
We had a fabulous time at the restaurant ! Food was amazing and the service was great ! ( wine pouring not the best ) the restaurant should get a interior update .. over all it was great !
We had an amazing anniversary dinner at Antler. We both had steaks, and they were amazing! Service, ambiance and food were all 5 stars! We can't wait to come back.
The food and ambiance were wonderful! Our server Jodi was delightful. Happy that they asked to see our proof of vaccination. We had a lovely time celebrating our 30th anniversary.
The steaks were to perfection, my wife does not like a lot of pink and they did a great job. The service was very friendly. First time in a while that we left a restaurant and felt we enjoyed everything.
Compared to the last time, we felt that it was a bit overpriced. In addition, the music was inappropriate for fine dining establishment, and too intrusive.
nice ambience, good steak, fair service not very attentive, not budget minded
We had an excellent experience last night. Our server was very nice. Plus the manager talked to us twice just to check how we are doing. Excellent! Overall.
The quiet ambience of Antlers was most welcome after a busy day. We were seated in the addition which gave us a view of a beautiful sunset. The tables were well spaced with plexiglass dividers for extra safety. The staff was polite and helpful without being obtrusive. Our meals were delicious with my husband really liking the mussel dish to start. I thought the Caesar salad was an interesting presentation. The steak I had was cooked exactly the way I requested. We also enjoyed chatting with Stephanie at the end of our meal who enthusiastically answered our questions about the history of the restaurant and listened to some new ideas as well.
Going to this restaurant is a treat one shouldn't miss!
The server (I think her name was Jessy) was so kind and helpful. I really enjoyed her hospitality.
The meal was very good . The Tomahawk cooked perfectly. But the courses were brought out before we had cutlery or side plates Were on our table. The bernaise sauce didn’t come with the meal either. Just needs a little attention to those small details but overall was an enjoyable outing .
Great food and friendly service. My steak was cooked the way I asked and food was served hot.
We enjoyed two evenings and meals here. Food was innovative in choices - servings generous and carefully plated! Food was of excellent quality and tasty. Service was exemplary - Cat was a delightful server and very professional. She was most conscientious about allergy needs. Hostess Sephanie was accommodating and engaging! Covid regs were in place and the experience most pleasing despite those restrictions. Thank you - we would return and recommend Antler.
I made the mistake of paying $88 for a $ 8 ribeye should of sent it back but it was a birthday dinner and did not want to ruin things
why would you do that to people
Delicious shrimp cocktail. Wonderful Fresh Salad. Grilled beef perfect.
Lots of Covid protection
A real treat!
Food was way overpriced and below average. Service was poor, and not COVID related. Just not great service for the supposed best steak house in Huntsville. No bread on the table, had to ask for pepper for our salads. And saw other servers walking around with pepper mill, no water refills etc. Usually in places of this caliber, they always ask.
We were also seated in a small porch type area, which was fine, but kind of isolated from the main dining area ie: out of sight out of mind. For $500 for 4 people, I would go and eat twice at the place right on the resort food was much better as was the price and service.
Delicious food. Conveniently located in the resort. Good service. Slightly expensive, but good quality.
This restaurant / golf club house lost its ambiance from its original Steamers restaurant. It’s less casual feel supports golfers celebrating their sport and brotherhood, taking away from a more serene atmosphere. However, the food was excellent, as well as the service level was very good.
Our meal was excellent! Great staff & service too!
Service was slow, drinks were very good, ordered the tenderloin, it was tough not a tenderloin
Great veranda! Good food! One of our favourite places to dine in Huntsville area.
There was a corporate function in town and they sat us right beside a 20 person long table, when we requested patio and had a reservation for weeks. It was extreeeemely loud and disruptive.
The meal itself was super average for what you pay for.
Food was fabulous and staff as always were professional and courteous.
Noise level was very loud from a large table of 14. Unfortunate but the dinner was great.
We had a great time with our friends, shared a tomahawk steak which was delicious. Wait staff very friendly and fun.
Absolutely amazing 👏
Despite the current issues with staffing in the world, this location did not disappoint. All staff members were cheerful, friendly, professional, and extremely efficient. The food was next level delicious, perfectly cooked and served, the location was gorgeous and everything overall was perfect. Thank you so much. We will definitely be back soon!
We had wonderful service and a really lovely dinner at the Antler Steakhouse. We sprung for the Kobe and it truly melts in your mouth. The burrata salad was delicious as well. The Mac and cheese was a bit bland but the steak more than made up for it. We were thrilled to know that Deerhurst offers shuttles for guests so that we don’t have to worry about driving. We will definitely come back next time we visit Deerhurst Resort.
Food is very good, but the service isn’t up to par. Server spilled wine, had to ask for forks and knives and left a mess on the table.
Came to Antlers specifically to have the Kobi Steak, however it was cooked rare and when I got closer to the centre of the steak, it was closer to blue, sent it back for proper cooking, but it took away from the experience when it arrived back 8 minutes later.
Would not consider this steak any better than a filet mignon. Not worth $155
The food was amazing. Our server Greg might have been new, but he poured all of us wine to taste test. Should only be one person. After the taste test, he just sat the bottle of wine on the table. He should have poured our first glass. Also, we asked for a straw and it never came. We had to get one from the bar.
Just might need to train your servers more for the price you pay for a great dinner.
A smaller sirloin steak would be nice to be offered on your menu. The 12 oz and then a 6 or 8 ounce. All the same trimmings (which were delicious!). Twelve ounces is way too large for some of us.
We had reserved a table for outdoor patio and were seated inside in an indoor patio area. When inquiring about sitting outside they did say this table/area was considered “outside” (though it was completely closed in and not even screens/windows). I explained that I reserved outdoor dining (a number of weeks ago) and they said you have to ask for actually outside- this made no sense to me since we had never been to this restaurant before and I didn’t know there was an indoor patio then actual outdoor dining. A bit frustrating.
Some steaks were also quite tough for the price.
Wait staff was great however and very pleasant.
Went for a meal on the patio. Service was not great. Over 20 mins to take a drink order then another 20 to bring bread and drinks. Some of the food was tasty (mussels) but underwhelmed by the main courses Esp for the price.
Our night was perfect. They went above and beyond to set up a special engagement celebration for us. A perfect quiet little spot, a complimentary bottle of champagne and super attentive service. Thanks Antler!
