Excellent, especially our waiter. The reason the overall score is only Good is that we arrived early - about 12.20 - having booked, and ordered immediately as there were two small children in the party. We then waited for what seemed an unconscionably long time while others - who had arrived after us - were served the same food we had ordered. WHY??

Something evidently went wrong in the kitchen and this was a second visit - the first time we waited for nearly an hour. No good explanation for that either. Aren't the orders dealt with in the order they come in, as happens in most restaurants?

Our waiter saved the day by bringing the boys a sandwich and then giving them free pudding but really it was not his fault. Please get your kitchen orders better organised and then you will deserve a very good rating overall.

We have been to Architect on several occasions and enjoyed ourselves each time. We love the menu, with its fun fish and options with chips of different types and those delicious pies for meat eaters and vegetarians with their varied potato accompaniments. Each meal comes with a side and sauce which provide another range of options. So, what seems a simple choice (which it can be if you like) is a great and varied menu. The music was terrific, certainly suiting us, with chouce and mouse level. The service was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. Great night for four friends who wanted to eat well and talk.

Very good upscale fish and chips and pies with lots of cooking options and sides plus specials. Decent drinks prices with excellent range of beers and friendly, although slow, service in buzzy (going on noisy) gastropub-style setting.

Go hungry as the portions are large. Good range of craft beers and a small but perfectly formed wine list. Fun putting your own meal ideas together. Staff were outstanding. Would recommend for lunch and dinner.

Very attentive waiter. Fish excellent (Panko covered haddock) - vegetarian pie not so good. But overall good value for money in central Cambridge. Portion sizes a bit too large. Convenient local car parking available just behind the building.

Went on a whim and very glad we did. We don’t have fish & chips very often so it was a lovely treat. Great to be able to choose batter as well as fish and veg options. We were too full to attempt dessert. Nice gin selection to wash it down. Friendly attentive staff
