The Bakers Arms
Always great food and service.
It never disappoints and I recommend it to all.
Best Roast dinner we have ever had out,we will definitely return in the near future.
Not particularly good table between toilets, staff did close back door! Food was good but generally over salted for our taste
A lovely meal in pleasant surroundings. Both my husband & I had the prawn starter which was delicious, my main course mussels were also good. My husband had the lamb rump which he thoroughly enjoyed & said it was very tender. Service was friendly, courteous & efficient. Thanks & well done Bakers for another great meal.
Superb roast dinner!!
Have patience with the waiting staff most are very young, this was my only very minor ‘issue’.
Will be back again!!!
Lovely traditional pub, great roast dinner in fact we were all so full we couldn’t manage dessert. I definitely recommend booking as it was very busy, as soon as a table emptied it filled again. Good atmosphere and although it was packed this didn’t effect the service.
We had a fantastic Sunday lunch , we will be back. I fully recommend a visit
This was our first visit and won’t be our last, lovely cosy warm atmosphere, staff were wonderful, friendly and attentive. We’re not vegan but like trying the vegan options, they said as well as the vegan options on the menu they’d adapt others options where possible which we thought was good of them. The black bean burger was lovely and tasty and came with a nice vegan mayonnaise, I asked for sweet potato fries with mine, would have been perfect if it can come with a small side salad or a few vegetables. My husband had the cauliflower steak which he said was very nice it came sat on a bed of tasty mixed veg, he also ordered a side of sweet potato fries which was good as the Cauliflower and veg wouldn’t have been filling enough on their own. We were pleasantly surprised to see to vegan options deserts, a light lemon cream which was very tasty and an apple and gooseberry crumble which was nice but a bit light on the crumble but then pubs never seem to do a proper thick homemade crumble, the custard wasn’t vegan. All in all a lovely experience, looking forward to a return visit with the family.
This is a restaurant, my husband I, use infrequently but we will be coming much more often. The food is always good and the ambience excellent. It is an excellent country pub. I have brought guests here and they have always enjoyed the experience. I would recommend this pub anyone that wants a good meal well served.
Visited The Bakers Arms for the first time with friends last Thursday evening, we had an extremely enjoyable meal, the food and service was excellent. The atmosphere is very relaxed. Already planning our next visit!
Regular Sunday lunch venue for us.....one of the best...
Fab food, pleasant staff. Abundant portions, beautifully cooked. Puddings gorgeous.
Lovely attentive staff ... our waitress was a delight
We visited the Bakers Arms on Sunday. Everything was amazing. Lovely old pub, friendly staff and delicious food! We both enjoyed the Sunday roast. Everything was home cooked, served hot and with plenty of gravy!
One of Hampshire's finest gastro-pubs, without question.
As ever awesome food and great service, proper Sunday lunch!!!
Always a excellent experience and delicious food. Well done guys
Went on a very quiet Monday night, the service was fantastic (thank you Amy!), the food excellent and the surroundings delightful. Would definitely visit again if I was in the area.
Very friendly service and a good ambiance. Inevitably, with such a popular pub in an old village the parking might sometimes be tricky.
A wonderful hearty Sunday roast in beautiful surroundings
Lovely place to have a meal. Good food and service
Loved the pub and mussels to die for. Locals friendly and dog friendly too ... perfect x
We were very disappointed with the food and the service. We chose this venue because of it’s referenced Michelin’s approval on its website. This must have been some time ago.
We both had fish as a main course which was served with greasy potatoes, inedible samphire and a side dish of green beans were uncooked.
The service was unprofessional. Our table was not cleared after both first and second courses.
We were asked our opinion of the meal and we were offered a free dessert.
The exterior of the building was very run down with an overflowing drain in the car park and a very tired and unkempt garden.
A most unsatisfactory evening.
As always a pleasant lunch at the Baker’s. Nice menu and good service makes this a regular on our dining list.
Wow, brilliant service! I was made to feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Unfortunately some of our party were delayed by over an hour, however the staff were so understanding. When we were finally all there we ordered our food and I loved that there was more than one vegetarian option. Our food arrived, very hot and absolutely gorgeous, so much better than the average pub Sunday lunch with gorgeous puddings too. We will definately be back. Thank you.
Great food, great service! Highly recommend.
As always food was fantastic , highly recommend the Hanger steak
I go to the Bakers Arms fairly regularly to meet a friend and have always had excellent meals. However on this occasion my Cauliflower Steak dish was not at all good. Lukewarm, bland, greasy and inedible samphire. We were not charged but disappointing as usually their food is so good. Heard a few other complaints from other diners, it was busy, so hopefully just having a bad day in the kitchen. We will return.
Normally excellent but meal provided without roast potatoes in error. Gave us a free sweet as compensation .
Another lovely lunch with a friend at The Bakers. Good food, good service, great place.
Warm welcome from staff on entering, good ale, good food, good service sums it all up.
Sunday lunch was superb. Lots of little portions of different vegetables plus gorgeous roast beef. Plate was piping hot but food not quite as hot. This would be my only gripe
Booked a Sunday lunch for 2pm. We were seated straight away. Menu was quite limited but understandable on a Sunday. Homemade bread to start was lovely. We both had roast beef and the portions were very generous. I then had the homemade crumble for dessert which was again very nice. When the bill came I noticed they’d charged me for 2 wines when I only had one so they went away to sort that. Overall the food was lovely but the service was a little bit slow and could be improved.
We have been several times and it is always lovely food and friendly service :).
Everything about the evening was brilliant - well advised by the staff on food and drink choices.
Had booked the wrong day but still found space for us.
Have been numerous times and always delighted. Tonight really disappointed- clearly not enough staff - slow service and parts of the order were missing. Vegetarian burger also really dry.
Would highly recommend the Sunday lunch.
The menu was very reasonably priced.
Our favourite place to eat! Service is brilliant, food consistently great every time. Shame more pubs don’t get it right in every respect like the Bakers Arms do!
Excellent food, priced at the upper end, but worth it for the quality, friendliness of service and general ambiance on a summer Friday.
Meals were good, the vegetarian roast was OK however, the Falafel wasn't impressive.
