Serving delectable comfort food throughout the day, the rustic charm of The Barn includes a first floor bar with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. And with stone floors throughout you’re more than welcome to keep your muddy boots on.
It’s always a pleasure to come and dine here. Food and service is always spot on! Wife and I dined with our 5 week old and nothing was too much trouble. Looking forward to returning again soon.
Quality food using quality ingredients, but price reflects this. Bottle of water £6!! Service excellent. Nice place to go for a treat.
Delightful evening. Unpretentious but high end cuisine, drink and service.
Well done The Barn!
I had high expectations because of the positive reviews. I think the place stands out from the crowd in the neighborhood, but I also must mention the food was so average..
Small details that matter: tables were so low, I couldn't sit comfortably. Music in the background very random! A carefully curated playlist could add so much atmosphere.
Overall, I had a decent dinner, but not worth £150 for 2ppl, and won't be returning back.
Wasps was a problem.
Service was a little slow, even though it was a lunch And no need to rush.
Food was good but not extraordinary.
Mgt were helpful and courteous.
There was a kitchen problem that delayed food but not a major issue for us.
That said I would go back again. I am trying to be constructive with feedback.
Came quite a few times last summer, back again , but menu very limited and a struggle to chose food, there main restaurant is soo much better.
Lovely customer experience and beautiful location
The Barn is our local favourite. Romantic table for 2 or get together with friends and family.
Excellent measures of service and attentiveness. Exactly how dining service should be.
The Chefs are amazing. Great to see the preparation and presentation of food through to delivery.
If brasserie don’t offer Prosecco fine : but the ridiculous price for Champagne by the glass should really be flagged up in advance as 4 glasses was ~50% of £176 bill for dinner for 2
Another wonderful dining experience at the Barn.
Delicious food & Super service.
Long lunch with friends and family.
See you again very soon.
Excellent as usual. Dingley Dell pork from sharing menu was amazing
Thank you chiefs ..
The Barn is a great location - beautiful setting, good food, some good wines at sensible prices etc, mixed with excellent service.
We always enjoy dining at the Barn. Perfect and friendly service, excellent food and delightful
atmosphere - all you could ask for!
Enjoyed our lunch however a very unruly large group celebrating a birthday. The adults of the group were not looking after their kids and the kids were running through all the tables, climbing the lamposts etc
Staff seemed to be getting quite frustrated with the group too as they were trying to run the food to the guests but they were not listening to them.
Slightly spoilt the atmosphere, not really the fault of The Barn but did impact our enjoyment unfortunately.
I have been to the barn a few times and each time the food and service has been excellent. This time especially so from the service by Luke.
Superb food & service
Beautiful setting, lovely food, great service... and some pretty amazing cocktails!
Excellent friendly service. A bit on the expensive side, but well worth it
The service was perfect, the food was good, the place amazing. For a romantic dinner, in a restaurant a bit different, almost isolated and not too expensive, I would definitely recommend this place.
A beautiful setting, good food and excellent service from the friendly staff
We went to celebrate our anniversary, beautiful landscape, wonderful ambience, only a few tables so it felt quite intimate. Service was top class, they also employ graduates on internships doing relevant hospitality degrees which is a plus in my eyes. This is a high end restaurant with gorgeous, well prepared and cooked food, an extensive wine selection and well trained staff. Cost for two with champagne and wine £200. We will return again.
We were staying at Penny Hill Park but thought we'd give the Barn at Coworth House a try for a change & we were delighted that we did. the food on the set money was very tasty & at £25 for 2 courses it was great value too. the staff were super attentive & when the maitre d saw us struggling with accessing the internet, she came over & gave us a free wifi access code for the evening, without us asking.
overall a top night in a delightful brassierie.
The Barn is great for families, very child friendly, whilst being a lovely dining experience as well.
The setting is fabulous, the staff are terrific - working out our daughters food allergies easily.......
I would definitely recommend.
Had dinner booked for Valentines Day... was a great atmosphere and not too busy. They had a set menu for the evening, which wasn't obvious until we arrived - I would have preferred more of a choice - but the food was tasty and well presented. Great location too. Will make another visit in future.
Our first time in The Barn. Couldn't find it first as it's hidden a bit within the grounds. Car park is a short walk away. Couldn't find a door as in the winter time they use a small side way servise door.
Firstly we were taken upstairs for a pre meal drink. Staff was very nice and friendly, but still professional. For our lunch we were seated downstairs close to the door and have to admit, it was rather drafty, also the table was very low and my partner and I hardly fitted underneath. (we are both very slim) We aked for a different table, as the restaurant wasn't full and were seated immediately. There was a tension between the waiting and kitchen staff though. We have enjoyed our 3 meal course, but wouldn't pay 150 pounds again.
