Put Vegan options on the menu!! I would love to see vegan pancakes or avocado toast or oatmeal!
The Barn was very neatly presented. We were seated at a table with soft chairs that looked comfortable but way to low for the table. Changed tables. Food was tasty and nicely presented but waitress was new. Brought soup spoons for our desserts and saucer plates for my flatbread. Didn’t fit. Must still be working out the kinks?
Had a very good experience at the Barn Kitchen. The interior is very nice, the service was terrific, and the food was excellent. Creative menu options.
The food was wonderful and the service was excellent. My family and I had a wonderful time. I'd definitely recommend for special occasions or just casual dining in a beautiful restaurant.
Amazing experience overall.

I have left this review before but I going to keep pushing for more vegan options on the menu. Whether people are vegan or not, having the option of a purely plant based meal is definitely worth it. I would love to see vegan pancakes on the breakfast menu or a vegan pasta dish or a vegan burger option. Veganism is becoming more and more common and I think the Williams Inn should jump on the band wagon and except veganism too!
We were there this weekend for a romantic getaway. We stayed at the hotel and the restaurant is attached. We were placed too close to a table with 2 couples (talking politics) who were very loud. The waitress was pleasant, but she forgot my drink and I waited over 20 minutes. I tried many times to get her attention. We ordered the cheese platter appetizer which was good. The meal quality was also good. It was left at the bar. $115 including tip for 2 people, was a bit high.
Lots of menu choices. The cauliflower on the "Bar Bites" menu is a tasty choice for an app. The chicken and biscuit sliders were a disappointment -- biscuits overdone and tasteless. Entrees of burger and steak were winners. Friendly service, but somewhat disorganized. Nice atmosphere.
Outstanding service. Excellent food and drinks. Perhaps it could be a smidge less bright in there, little more mood lighting; this is personal preference. We had a lovely dinner and experience and will be repeat guests.
Wonderful food and beautiful feel and look to the place, service was very lacking. Been there two times, the first time the service was also very lacking. It’s too bad that a place with such wonderful food and is so beautiful is having such an issue with service. Makes me a little worried about going back. Will give it a try one more time.
Great food, service and reasonably priced. All in a quaint and inviting atmosphere but with all the luxuries New England has to offer.
My party of 6 had a wonderful evening. The restaurant is lovely, the food was excellent and our server was so pleasant and exceptionally knowledgeable of the menu. We will be returning to try the bar menu.
We were a party of 7 and had a wonderful private room adjacent to the dining room. Food was fresh - we all started with various salads and shared a flatbread. Salmon was terrific with lentils and the side orders of broccoli and mushrooms were not oily like at some restaurants. S’mores brownie dessert was a hit. Overall, great space, service and food. Everyone was very happy. Highly recommend.
Lisa was our waitress and she really enhanced our experience greatly. She was an experienced server and had many helpful suggestions. She was very fun to talk to.
We started with the charcuterie and it was excellent. My husband had the special for the evening, pork osso bucco and said it was fantastic. I had a filet that was good but I’m not sure I liked the water bath cooking style they use. I personally like a good char on a steak and it was slightly charred. It’s just my own preference. It was good, just different. The dining room was load but very pretty.
We went to the hotel and restaurant as a last minute getaway, and are very much looking forward to returning.
This place needs to get its act together if it is to succeed. Staff needs some serious training. We were seated on a Friday evening. The restaurant was not full, but we still waited a long time for the waiter to come to us “to say hello” and let us know she had to take a dessert order and would be back to take our order. Another wait and she finally came to us. Would have liked to start with a drink, but decided to order the meal since we did not know when she’d be back. We both ordered wine, an app and an a main. Waited for our wine, which didn’t come until after our first course was delivered. Never got the promised bread basket. Again waited a very long time for the next course. Food was just okay. Farro salad was bland and under seasoned.
Wanted our son and family to see the new Williams Inn while they were visiting. He was quite impressed.
Dinner at the Williams Inn, 8:30 reservation, was good – I like the space and the food was very good but our waiter had absolutely no personality and there were no decorations or mention of New Year’s eve – other than the fixed price 5 course menu. We found that uninspiring and odd! Nothing festive about the evening.
We had a great time New Year’s Eve ! Food and service was great!
We enjoyed a casual lunch in their contemporary barn setting with peaceful surroundings. The very attentive and friendly waiter recommended the grilled short ribs and smoked cheese sandwich. It was delicious. Very good Bloody Mary too! (Our daughter and son-in-law raved about a dinner there the week before.)
New restaurant, well staffed. Food was very good but limited options. Not fine dining. Nice casual seemed to be the normal. I would definitely return
The restaurant is promising but there were definitely issues. We arrived for a 1:30 reservation and the restaurant was definitely not close to full. Despite the low traffic, we waited an hour for our food to be served. The waitress was mildly apologetic once she even noticed. However management or other staff never apologized or even checked in on our experience. There was no offer to compensate for a drink or desert; there was not the suggestion to bring a bread basket or appetizer to keep us fed during the long wait.
We had a wonderful meal at The Barn. Only odd thing was right when we arrived the hostess was mia for a good 5-7 minutes. A waiter came by and told us she’s be right back... but it was odd not being greeted. Food was delicious, drinks were great and service very attentive.
The Barn offers a unique setting in a new facility. The menu offers enough variety to suit all tastes. The dining is large enough that tables aren’t crowded and the overall experience was delightful. We will definitely be back to sample the dinner menu.
New and beautiful!!! Room is clean and comfortable.
Looks like like a great place to enjoy dining al fresco.
Great food and a wonderful addition to Williamstown Mass
I highly would recommend The Barn Kitchen & Bar at the Williams Inn to my family and friends. I would like to ask if the restaurant could be a little more Vegan/plant-based friendly. Breakfast is one of my favorite meals and the atmosphere at the Inn in the mornings is wonderful but the breakfast menu lacks vegan options. Is there anyway to add more vegan options or make adjustments for vegan/plant-based diets. Overall I love the restaurant and I will happily continue to visit and recommend the food, service and atmosphere.
The new menu is great. The ravioli is incredible as was the salmon. You hit it out of the park!
We arrived to this lovely hotel and restaurant with great expectations. A friend had told us the burgers were great but we are not meat eaters. The room exuded relaxation and warmth. The furnishings and table settings are elegant.
We ordered. The French fries, soup and faro salad were very good. However, that was the end of “good”. My flatbread (Gorgonzola and mushroom) was very salty. In fact, I don’t think I ate 1/3 of it. The two pasta dishes were over laden with cheese and my husbands salmon was too heavy on lentils and the fish was seriously overcooked when he asked that it be “medium, not cooked through”. The desert, the s’mores brownie was dry and the four of us did not eat even half. To the managers credit, he offered to make another fish dish and, in the end, did not charge for that dish......so we were very disappointed as we planned for this to be our go to place when we, from Vermont, meet friends from the Berkshires.
We sincerely hope the “chef” issues can be remedied and look forward to returning when we hear of positive changes....
Server Lisa was awesome.
We booked their Thanksgiving menu - family style $40 a person.
The good: food was delicious. The server we ultimately had was very nice. It’s a lovely ballroom.
The needs improvement: Very stingy on the turkey. We didn’t have enough. We checked in at 12:45 - numerous people checked in after us but we were the last people called to sit at 1:20. At 1:40 no one had taken a drink order or spoken to us. I checked with the hostess and we got a server who was very nice. The dessert was apple crisp or cheesecake. They just brought us a plate with both. But there were only 4 apple crisps which everyone on our group of 5 wanted. The portions were tiny. We asked for another apple crisp and were told the chef said no. All other pieces were for other people. That left a very bad last impression.
We’d probably go again - but we would understand you can’t always get what you want here.
I had a Caesar salad and the dressing was quite bland and also the Parmesan french fries seemed like McDonald’s french fries with Parmesan cheese on them. The entrées were fabulous but the french fries could use some major help
Sasha and the server were great! They were very friendly.
Disappointing. They said it opened in August , and if so, they should have had their act together by now. The heating wasn’t working properly (they said they were working on it). The food was ok, but not good value for the money, asked for medium burger but got well done. For $25 more (less tip), the meal we had at Mezze was way better. The ambience was excellent, however, only spoiled by being too cold (had to wear outdoor coats) until some heat came on.
Homecoming weekend with friends and family.
Beautiful hotel, beautiful restaurant and great food! We look forward to eating here again the next time we visit Williamstown.
It was a very limited menu with a number of things not available and a very limited Vegetarian menu.
Poor design - to have to weave through the bar to the dining area. Poor wine list. I really expected more. Not very classy for Williams!
Over bearing crowd impinged on diners. Should have been held out of dining area until pvt room was ready!
First time at the new Williams Inn. A lovely spot, great views, plenty of space between tables for privacy. I had the lobster hash and it was out of this world. Our server, Eileen, was attentive and thoughtful, appropriately friendly. I shall surely recommend the restaurant (already have) and plan to return.
We really enjoyed the food. The service was very slow. It too 2.5 hours to have a fairly simple meal.
