Excellent meal, attentive staff in a relaxed atmosphere. Would thoroughly recommend.
Food good, service excellent, would definitely go again
Lovely night out. Food excellent. Only gripe was that menu limited slightly if you were someone anti garlic.
The already limited menu was further reduced by offerings no longer....on offer, despite it being early in service and bookings made. Food was just OK. Where were the anchovies in the not overly demanding 'classic Ceasar salad' and if the braised beef shin was to be served 'pulled' then why not say so on the menu? The preparation of our bill took a staggering 35 minutes which should not be explained by their being "busy" or the contribution of a pre paid voucher, but there we are. A lovely garden in a nice location and generally nice staff.
Lovely garden setting. Excellent food & service
Overall good - food cold and had to be sent back which always spoils the meal - noticed another guest did the same - unlikely to return
Absolutely love the pub and the food but on this occasion was slightly quiet.
Probably due to the football..
Unfortunately staff were a bit lax especially for the amount of people there.
Had to ask for dessert menu after a while as we seemed to be forgotten about.
But as I said we absolutely love the place and if you can’t be honest about something then there is no point..
Fantastic food, brilliant service, overall a wonderful afternoon / evening.
The starters were nice but we waited a long time for them and then had to wait nearly half an hour (maybe even longer) for the main course. Couldn’t understand why, since there were only two tables in the restaurant occupied at the time and one of those was ours. The fish and chips were lovely but the chicken breast was disappointing and at £18, was certainly not value for money. When I had problems accessing the travel zoo voucher on my phone, I was rudely reminded of the terms and conditions and the need to produce it, which wasn’t necessary. When I was eventually able to open the voucher, we paid up and gladly left. Will we return again? No thank you.
Food, atmosphere is very relaxed. Fabulous menu. Fish is lovely.
Shin beef exceptional.
Maybe a couple more sweets on the menu required.
Staff are very helpful and polite and very smart
Would highly recommend
Prices didn’t match what was shown online before you book, ordered steak medium done and it came as medium rare. Overpriced , sorry
Very tasty and well presented meals, recommend the shin of beef
Relaxed atmosphere, pleasant staff, good food, - what's not to like! The Spanish Sauvignon Blanc wine is gorgeous!
The wait time was ridiculously long (nearly two hours for the main course to arrive), but the food was good.
Excellent Sunday Lunch
The Sunday lunch was excellent. It was quiet in the restaurant as it was a very hot Bank Holiday so most people were outside.
Beautiful beer garden and tasty food. Friendly service, although a little disorganised while they are finding their feet and learning the ropes (orders forgotten a couple of times). Overall a delightful experience.
There were a number of items unavailable on what is already a fairly limited menu. We had a table at 5pm leading into a busy bank holiday weekend. The food we did end up having was beautiful but the evening was a little spoilt not being able to have our first choices. The staff were great and the layout in the garden welcoming and spacious. Wooden seating could do with a few pads to cushion and encourage lingering.
great experience, food great as was service and ambience
We had the weather so we could enjoy the outdoor area. Very quiet, tranquil. Food exceptional. Stay was great, comfortable and spacious for a family of 4.
Overall very good. Location ideal to knaresborough centre.
Excellent Sunday dinner. Not really a problem, but service was a little slow.
Great to be back indoors!
Really pleasant dining experience, I took my 3 year old with us and he loved it, children’s menu was good and great value. All staff were friendly and food was great.
Fantastic service & food.
Thoroughly enjoyed it & will be back.
The food was great, lovely hearty portions. The Beef and Ae pie was superb. It would have been nice to have been offered a wine list, but other than that would definitely recommend.
Food was good, service was excellent and overall good value for money.
Excellent service with friendly staff. Food very good as always.
Great to be back in the restaurant.
The two of us were seated near a table of 8 and the noise levels made it difficult to hear our own conversation.
Great to get back inside our local. Food was excellent as always and we had a lovely time with family
Lovely fresh food, great staff and friendly atmosphere!
Good menu and wine list with a friendly and professional welcome. Recommended.
Limited rather dull menu choices, portion size of the steak pie FAR too large , outfacing but full of stringy tasteless meat , green veg cool , good chips ready salted and herby .
Staff were really nice and welcoming food was brilliant would definitely go again
Lovely lunch. Great Service despite the weather! we will return!
Great service in this most attractive beer garden
The food is really good - wouldn’t hesitate to recommend
booked a lunchtime table to catch up with old friend. We had to sit outside, as expected, on a cool cloudy day. No cushions and no heating.. Good beer and Ok food... 'sourdough' bread could have been fresher. I suspect it was at least 2 days old. 3 pints of beer, two sandwiches and a cup of coffee - £31. Should have been much better quality food for that price IMHO... We are in Yorkshire after all... Will reserve judgement on recommendations.
Lovely garden setting , friendly staff and delicious Sunday lunch . Thankyou 🙏🏼
Amazing food great service what more do you want go 2 times a week
Lovely outdoor eating area with well tended gardens. Comfortable and quiet atmosphere. Food fantastic, good hearty Yorkshire portions, well thought out accompaniments with Sunday lunch. Service was good, but compromised slightly by Covid requirements. Reasonably priced for what you get. Highly recommended.
Really lovely Sunday lunch in a very nice setting. Great service from all the staff
Lovely food, excellent service. They made every effort to make sure we were comfortable on what was a awful wet day. It could have been a wash out, but instead it was a very pleasant afternoon. Thanks
We had originally booked for 2 pm on Thursday, but after receiving a call from the manager to let us know we were the only booking for lunch that day, would we mind switching to 4 pm as that was when the pub was opening for the evening?
We agreed, and turned up at 4 as the chef and manager arrived in the car park,
We were ushered to a table under cover, with an electric heater above us and offered a blanket for our knees.
The fish and chips were delicious as as were the desserts; we felt quite special!
We were given a great welcome and lovely food and service in spite of the current restrictions, and will be more than happy to return when normality returns!
