Lovely views across the estuary with great menu and friendly staff
We have dined at the Beaver Inn for more than seventeen years and always enjoyed the atmosphere, service and food. A very special pub.
Love this pub third visit in a week
Service always great and good quality
So popular that by 6pm three fish specials gone
Always fantastic welcome here and the food last night was amazing- gorgeous fresh fish. Thank you!
Lovely venue; helpful staff and great company as always
We had a lovely meal on July 21, just a couple of days after "freedom day" Our experience would have been great in pre covid times, but it was made somewhat more uncomfortable by the lack of mask wearing by the majority of the customers and some of the staff. It seems that the message of "taking personal responsibility" has fallen on deaf ears for visitors and locals alike. Looks like it will be some time yet before we can comfortably resume eating out in indoor settings. Great shame.
Good food and excellent service. We sat upstairs at the far end in our own little nook with a porthole window with a fantastic view across the bay. Will definitely return soon.
We visited lunchtime mid week and really enjoyed our time there.
Food lovely ordered mixture of small plates, all very tasty and well cooked.
Staff were great , all friendly couldn’t fault
Disappointed that couldn’t book again during our stay as very popular and would recommend booking.
Very good food - environment and outdoor space could do with a facelift
Tired grubby staff brought us drinks to the table and left us the empty glasses from our
Previous drinks.food was okay .
The service was pushy at the start and very slow at the end. The food was OK but not what I expected for the reviews I had read.
Excellent pub both inside and out. Good beers and excellent selection of tasty food.
Quick and friendly welcome, good service. Sea bass was very tasty
Great food and well looked after , not overcrowded due to Covid restrictions so felt safe/distanced. Dog friendly
Great fish and chips, huge portions but great. Would definitely recommend.
Fantastic food and drink and friendly staff. What more could you ask for.
Great Sunday lunch with everything home made including the delicious gravy. Puds appear to be homemade too. Delicious relaxing Sunday’s spent here as locals! Evening meals we haven’t had so much success with steak over done twice, vegan options over cooked. However we do tell everyone about their Sunday lunches as they are the best ones around!!! 👍🏻
Lovely meal with great service and a warm welcome. Our dog was made welcome too. Good value for money.
Interior could benefit from a refurb, but a minor issue.
Welcoming, friendly and attentive service, beautiful sea view, wonderful fresh seafood, good atmosphere, couldn't ask for anything more!
We had a very enjoyable supper looking at the boats going up and down the estuary. Excellent food and service.
Amazing food definitely try if you find yourself in Appledore. The fresh fish option I had was the best meal I had all holiday, fresh, tasty, freshly cooked and not expensive. Would highly recommend the steaks too, OMG the onion rings and chips are the best x
Stopped for lunch as we were passing through; the location, view, food and service were greatly. Would call in again if ever passing through again.
No steaks at 7:30pm, ordered fish pie which was beyond boiling hot and not that good however, the starters were very nice
Straight forward pub food but good food for the money, the decor is very dated but the view is lovely
Cheapest seafood platter for miles around (that we found), good size bowl of mussels, heaps of crab and thick slabs of smoked salmon, 2 large prawns and fantastic sourdough bread - great lunch. Excellent choices for vegan daughter who said sticky ginger tofu was best she had. Massive portions of the small plates (3 for (£15) so don't know why they're called small plates! Lovely staff, very friendly.
This pub has the best views so it doesn't matter that it's a bit shabby inside; foods delicious , staff are smashing and views over the water are unbeatable.
Simply a very nice pub with good food and friendly staff. I'd especially recommend the hake it was fab.
Excellent food with good choice and great friendly service from the lovely personable staff. Would highly recommend, looking forward to revisting soon, thanks.
The pub is very nice and service good but unfortunately our fish was not cooked properly as it was a bit see through and the batter very soggy, we were both poorly a few hours later. I did report this but was still charged full price for the fish (£32 for 2 portions) and only a drink each was taken off the bill. The chips were good .....but not worth £16 a portion.
Welcoming staff and a good spot with sea view - but completely over priced menu ., food ok but £20 salmon -£22 for scallops in a pub bar !!!
Friendly pub in great waterside location with good value pub food
Highly recommend the seafood here -perfect with estuary views too
Great meal at The Beaver Inn. The food was delicious and great vale for money. All was freshly cooked and the staff were lovely.
Great food. One of the Best meals all holiday. Highly recommend the fish. Wonderful talented chef who has a great flare.
Everything is freshly cooked to order and always hot. Service is excellent and staff will always find time to talk to you
Very enjoyable and the Small Bites offer was fabulous
Lovely spot by the water- great service, lovely food
Great food and really friendly service. Fantastic location with 270 degree views over the bay.
This was our first visit but won’t be the last. All the staff were very helpful and polite. Our only grievance was the table next to us, a 4 generation family and one particular lady was extremely loud. Obviously not the pubs fault- will teach us for eating early!! Food was amazing as was the service. All in all, a great experience
Lovely roast and helpful friendly staff.
Great view of the estuary and great service
Excellent meal and service, and great views of the sunnset
