A decent pub , busy to say Covid is around , food was decent pub food , bangers and mash steak pie and chips , Timmy tailors was lovely , staff were nice and service good , would recommend if you want good pub grub
Very noisy had a bunch of 6, drunk “Hurray Henry” types! Service was okay and the food was not as good as expected.
Pie was ok. Stroganoff was bland with a wallpaper paste consistency. Generally, not the place we thought it was after reading some older reviews. It was a shame as we’d been looking forward to it.
Friendly and relaxed.
Lovely pub, offering excellent food with friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended.
Food was OK, nice location and the service was pretty good. It won't blow you away but is a safe bet for a pub meal.
Food was excellent. Generous portions and well presented. At £20 per person for two courses it was very good value. Good ale selection too!
Good was great the meat was cooked to perfection it was outstanding if I had one criticism it would be lack of vegetables.. apart from that amazinh
Even tho booked the venue could not find the booking. No table available. So had to share with strangers. Food poor with inflated prices. We were hoping to take advantage of the eat out to help out
I would not recommend
Lovely old fashioned pub selling very good pub-grub. Pleasant atmosphere only minutes walk from the main squares. Service was extremely friendly and efficient.
Fixed price three course menu with only very ordinary food served. Everything tasted like it had come from the freezer.
Good food , good service and at a reasonable price.
Food was good. I had the pie which was great, but my partners Cajun chicken was only a small portion of chicken.
Unfortunately the waiter forgot to put in our order, so after 50 mins of waiting patiently, we asked where the food was and he confirmed he forgot to put it in.
Unfortunately the food was less than average and overpriced, bar staff really friendly but took a while to get in a first drink order and people who came in after us were served before.
Understand we are still adjusting to new ways of working but other pubs are doing it better.
Great pub didnt eat but had a lovely pint which was a great temperature well poured and clearly a pub that knows how to look after and treat beer. Fantastic ambience and friedly welcmoing and superbly accomodating staff.
I asked for a table in Cheltenham and it booked me somewhere else
Delicious food and drinks! Amazing atmosphere and service!! I’ve already booked to wine and dine again!!
I made a booking online in advance for 16:30 on Sunday and we arrived at 16:35. Bearing in my we had traveled from Blackpool we had made pretty good time. I dropped off my mom and my husband first, as my mom was anxious about being late and it's a difficult time for her, while I parked the car. They were seated by a waitress, she didn't mention that the kitchen would be closing, instead she gave them the menus. At 1645 I came back in to explain that I was struggling to park the car but chose my food and left to try again. After I left, my husband went to the bar to order the food. Halfway through the order the waitress went to speak to the kitchen about whether the pork was available or not. The waitress never returned. Instead a man came out and said the kitchen was closed because we were 15 minutes late. It was only just after 1645 at that time! The man went back to ask again and returned 10 mins later to say that the kitchen had no food and it was closed. It was really disappointing as my mom and I had been before and really enjoyed it. I don't usually book but I did on this occasion so my mom wouldn't be stressed. It was so frustrating when I returned to hear that we were being refused service. I am 5 months pregnant and I was really hungry. Not to mention stressed about trying to park etc.
It was really disappointing, frustrating and stressful. I was shocked how un-accomodating, unprofessional and unprepared the kitchen was.
Great food and atmosphere. Friendly staff Great start to the weekend in Cheltenham
Not as good as usual. Staff seemed to be distracted.
We were in upstairs room as there was a noisy party with children.
Food was ok but luke warm, veg disappointing
Service really slow, too expensive for what we had .
Very noisy in there
Wont be returning
The Beehive is a good pub in Cheltenham. Sunday lunch is full of flavour and a reasonable portion size. Staff are efficient and sympathetic to requests. Good place.
Thank you for such a kind and detailed review. Really pleased you enjoyed your visit to The Beehive and we hope to see you again soon ! Kind Regards, John The Beehive
Food was cold didn’t like being told food wasn’t cold
Always amazing food for Sunday Brunch. Really good portions and a really good atmosphere.
Bit overpriced if you having 2 or 3 courses.
considering how busy it was and hardly anyone else was actually eating, it went very well
Beef was fatty
We've been a few times now and the food is great. The only thing that disappointed us the last time was that they didn't have the vegetarian roast dinner on the menu.
Difficult to get served as so many sitting at bar, and too few staff to cover the bar and food. Food was poor - buns were burned and chicken and beef burgers dry and tasteless. Noise level off the scale. We have eaten here before and it was better (6mo the ago). Was offered free drinks next time in but two things - we live 300miles away, and (please!!!) would much prefer that you care enough to get these fundamental service levels right first time. A good locals pub - maybe getting complacent. Couldn’t honestly recommend - but they are probably unbothered by that - which is probably the issue.
We had a fabulous time and really enjoyed the roast dinner. Lots of vegetables but would have liked more than 2 small roast potatoes each
Service was outstanding and very very friendly
Arrived half an hour early for lunch and we were seated alone, but the room soon filled up. It was clear why. They served an excellent Sunday lunch and plenty of it. Excellent service too from Molly who was very efficient and at least knew what beers they had (nice Rucking Mole ale too). Next time in Cheltenham would definitely go again.
Very friendly staff , and look after us.
but very loud. food is not so special.
very good for dinking .
Service was efficient and the roast was just excellent. Definitely recommend and definitely will return.
Best Sticky Tuffy Pudding in whole Cheltenham, plus the rest of the Sunday Roast was also really good.
This was the perfect pub to meet up with friends and have food, with a good selection of drinks. Definitely going here again!
Fantastic food and very friendly accommodating staff
LovelySunday Lunch. Accommodated change in number of diners at the last minute. Good atmosphere and excellent beer and wine. Would highly recommend
Lovely Sunday roast, well cooked for a decent price. Dogs made welcome too.
Great location and a lovely welcome. Sat at table in bar so a tad noisy . The food was delicious served hot on hot plates . Portion sizes are large.
Great food and I love that you can start out by drinking an ale in the front yard - then come inside for a tasty meal and then end the night in the beer garden in the back.
Very busy during the Jazz Festival but our server was not fazed. He was very pleasant and efficient. The food was good quality and good value for money.
