In Cheltenham’s well-heeled ‘village’ of Montpellier, a heart-warming city pub for lovers of real ale and great pub food. A regency building with Victorian features, high ceilings, sash windows and a proper ale house feel. A daily changing bar menu provides locally sourced food for a casual dining experience in the bar downstairs, with excellent Beer Battered Cod and Chips and Gourmet Burgers. Upstairs, known as ‘Cheltenham’s Best Kept Secret’ with its twenty foot ceiling, cast iron chandelier, minstrel gallery and ever tempting wine wall available for occasional evening dining and private function hire for up to 60 guests. Pick a stool at the bar, order a Timothy Taylor ‘Landlord’ and get chatting to the friendly bar staff who can tell you a lot about the place. Ensure to book a table for the ever so popular Sunday Roasts, serving 12pm – 3pm.

Delicious Sunday roast in cosy surroundings. Would definitely recommend to anyone who’s looking for a casual place to dine in the smarter end of Cheltenham.

I booked online for a family get together and was left a voicemail 2 hours before we were due for pur booking to say they had double booked and wouldn't be able to acccommodate us. There was no offer for an alternative time or arrangement and we had to find somewhere on a busy Saturday evening in Cheltenham, which was difficult.

Lovely Sunday lunch, opted for 2 courses & both courses were freshly cooked & tasty.Lovely big wedges of lamb with plenty of freahly cooked vibrant vegetables with perfect roasters & veggies. We prefer a late Sunday lunch (2.30 - 3) and are usually disappointed as the roasters & yorkies end up dried out & inedible, but not at the Beehive. Delish! . Highly recommended

Seating is problematic. Made a booking and was seated at someone else’s table so we were asked to move near the end of our meal. Having previously not found a seat we tried using open table but if our reservation isn’t honored we aren’t planning to go back.
Food and drinks are decent.

A super Sunday lunch, with fab roasties and veg- not quite 5 stars this time as the beef was a little chewy.

Not the best of welcomes received notice we would be seated upstairs followed signs for restaurant upstairs were stopped by a man asking where do we think we were going as if we were trying to rob the place! Explained we had a booking and were eventually led upstairs to be seated. After this unfortunate start ambience was good nice spacious room and food service and wine all good.

Had been told there was an event on so had bar seating. Very grotty, service was ok. Food not that amazing compared with other local independent restaurants. Mushroom burger made a member feel sick . Overall disappointing experience for what was meant to be a special retirement meal!!
