The Belgian Arms Ratings and Reviews
The four of us had a really good meal - traditional fish and chips being the most popular and certainly the best we have tasted for a long time. Very large portions so couldn't quite manage to clear the plate. Perhaps lighter starters might be better next time!!
Staff very attentive and friendly, unrushed throughout our time there. The barmaid remembered what our drinks were from a previous visit. Food freshly prepared, bar area clean and staff immaculate. Nice area to sit out in the sunshine and close to a lovely area of green. Def worth a visit for a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner date. Venison was, in my opinion the best I've tasted.
We dine regularly at the Belgian Arms as it is a convenient luncheon stop when we drive south of London. We have never been disappointed and the visit this time was no different. The food was delicious and the service very good. The recent refurbishment has given it a fresh new feel. We'll be back!
Booked a table for 3 on a Wednesday so expected it to be on the quiet side. It was, but a shame as it’s a very cosy pub. Menu was varied and I had a starter from the specials menu. I ordered beef stroganoff on toast, I’m a big fan of the dish and it didn’t disappoint. Very nice and also in the large side for a starter (I won’t complain).
Despite being quiet, the service was a little on the slow side. We weren’t in too much of a rush, but we were hungry and it was a relief when the starters came along.
Would recommend - I’ve been before and the menu seemed to be of a higher quality than before.
While staying near Windsor we were looking for somewhere to eat away from the very busy town so we looked on OpenTable and the Belgian Arms looked ideal for a country pub dinner. Lovely location with indoor and outdoor tables and cosy pub atmosphere with a manageable but varied menu. Good food and not long to wait as we ate early (6.45). All staff were very welcoming and helpful and the quality and quantity of food was very good. The Eton Mess special dessert and apple crumble were lovely. Later in the evening it became quite busy and people were being turned away because of it's popularity. Overall, a lovely country pub experience.
Had booked online but table was in the main bar which was very noisy. Expected to be in the quieter part of the restaurant. Service was mixed with waitress asking if we wanted to know the specials before we had the main menu then just gave us the menu without telling us the specials. Then she left us quite a while before taking our order. It was busy so a little wait for mains but food excellent. Best fish & chips ever. Waited 20 mins for cheese course so again service slow for what we ordered. Didn't feel a tip was merited.
