What a cracking place for a Sunday Roast. Staff were all very friendly, nice venue and good food. Thoroughly recommend it
Brilliant service from start to finish and the food was perfect 👌🏼
Poor selection on menu, if you like fish your ok, but we can’t eat it, option available very poor and expensive, disappointed as did state on booking birthday treat for my husband, no acknowledgement of this.
Enjoyed our meal. We ordered rib eye steak very nicely cooked with good fries and steak and ale pie also good.
This is a lovely setting for a meal and a chat. Staff were lovely, service was good and food was vary tasty. One of my guests needed a gluten free meal and our server was happy to check with the chef. All round a lovely experience.
Perfect country pub friendly staff we had two prams and were extremely happy and impressed with pub found online!
Lovely pub, nice food and drinks
Kids loved the park
Lovely Sunday lunch, slow service at times. Delicious pudding
While the food was good we found the place to be expensive for what we got
Everything was lovely, service great at the beginning, but towards the end we were left waiting for any service, waiting about 20 minutes or so, 3 times in the end we had to call out as staff walked passed as they wouldn’t look towards us. It was not busy. Food and everything else was great though
I think we caught them at the end of a very busy weekend. The service wasn’t great and food was a little disappointing (think the staff were just tired). Location and garden was great. Playground kept our kids entertained whilst we waited for our food to arrive. Would definitely go back and give it a second chance as I think it was more the timing of our visit.
Food was lovely but we had to wait over an hour for our food
Great food, nice venue and polite and professional staff doing a really good job
Very easy and efficient booking system. All Covid precautions adhered too. Great food and excellent service. Thanks
Excellent service, staff welcoming and aware of Covid regulations, sanitising the table before we were seated. Cannot fault.
Ordered a bacon cheese burger in a brioche bun with upgraded garlic and rosemary fries.
A plain (not very impressive) cheeseburger in a ciabatta roll with cheap curly fries turned up.
Not impressed. I raised the issue with the waiting staff at the point of receiving the burger and they shrugged it off saying they 'must have run out of brioche buns' but someone who waltzed in 30-40 mins after we ordered (and knew the staff) had their burger turn up in a brioche bun.
Then they proceeded to leave the extra charge for the bacon on the bill...
Also, wouldn't have paid the full £24.99 for the steak. It was a pitiful size and lacked flavour.
All in all, I felt somewhat ripped off spending £60+ (after the Eat Out to Help Out) for three people to have starters, mains and a soft drink each for what was a very lacklustre meal.
The food was overpriced for what you received, but luckily we had the eat out discount so it made it reasonable.
Although everybody was very nice, the food was of poor quality, luckly only paid half price, would have been very dissappointed if paid full price. I would say Weatherspoons food was of higher quality and sigificantly cheaper.
Great service, food and drinks ordered and delivered in a good time, food was great and a safe place with a lot of effort put in to ensure everyone is happy
The service was good as always but we waited a long time for food, we had been there 1 hour 20mins and was still waiting for starters. However, the food was nice
Nice freindly pub, quiet enough so you can talk without being loud. Excellent food and service.
Great service fantastic food will definitely be eating here again .. recommend it
Very good food. We all enjoyed ourselves. Jack was excellent host as ever.
A little expensive for what it was and portion sizes, especially for the Bangers and mash (only having two sausages), were a bit on the small side. Having said that it was very yummy and felt safe with the social distancing measures that were in place.
All in all I would definitely go back again.
Considering the difficulties you were working under, and the volume of customers, I think you did an excellent job. We didn't wait any longer than normal, I thought, and the food was up to the usual high quality Berwick Inn standard. It is not 'fine dining' but is exactly what we were looking for. Congratulations. We'll be back again soon. Jack
Menu was small but great for lunch - chips to die for! Staff were very friendly and several were new to the pub. They had been trained well and were very attentive. Well spaced out garden tables (I did not go inside) with a separate kiddies play area. Only downside is that the premises is adjacent to a railway line but, fortunately, trains are not that frequent.
Great family location for dining and local walks!
In the spirit of only writing nice things, I can't comment on the service. I also can't comment on the food because of the former.
Lovely pub, friendly and efficient staff.
Best fish and chips ever!
Had a lovely meal on an eat out to help out night, extremely busy but the staff were all so polite and the food was lovely, only a slight delay as they had issues with their internet but this was no problem for us
Great food, fantastic service. Lovely family meal out.
Amazing food, and the service was great with staff friendly as always
The service was erratic - we had to repeatedly re-ask for sauces, cutlery, the bill etc. & dealt with about 6 different staff throughout our time there. No systems or consistentcy in place in term of staff roles and responsibilities. The manager, gentlemen in blue shirt, twice removed his plastic visor to wipe sweat from his brow with the back of his sleeve. Piles of dirty glasses, tea towels, tray of crsips etc on empty surfaces throughout the restaurant. Throughout our 2 hours there the glass collector filled up the bar surfaces with dirty glasses in front of the dining room with no attempts to hide them all from view or even start washing them. Felt like we were eating in a messy dumping ground. Cutlery not brought to the table till after hot food had arrived - a pile of napkins, knives and forks dumped on the table rather than laid at each place. All delayed the ability to eat the ever-cooling food.
I've read that restaurants service has gone up by 61% because of the Eat Out deal but places such as The Berwick really need to get organised and maintain Health and Safety standards.
Very friendly, accommodating and pleasing staff at the pub. Food was great and the place very nice too. First time I went, and I will be coming back.
Very friendly staff, extremely busy but still was excellent service. Food very nice. Would definitely recommend
second ti,e we have visited food was as good on both occasions. Friendly Staff
No vegan option for a roast, only meat gravy was provided. Very expensive for what it was.
Just quality in every way
really nice and friendly staff. Very helpful and accommodating of the new COVID rules. Perfect place to have lunch outside
Great food and lovely bubbly service, would recommend it
