The Betterment by Jason Atherton is a contemporary dining experience located within The Biltmore Hotel, Mayfair. Luxurious yet relaxed with modern interiors and a menu suitable for sharing, The Betterment is the ideal place to socialise with friends, family and colleagues. The seasonally driven menu features beautifully presented dishes of wood-fired fish and meats, fresh seafood, signature salads and plant-based plates. Proteins are cooked on an open grill, with side dishes forming the flair of the meal, all inspired by flavours from around the world. In addition to the main restaurant, there is a beautiful Tea Lounge which challenges the perception of a traditional London afternoon tea and offers a unique experience to all guests. The comfortable Terrace is an elegant spot open for al fresco dining and drinking all year round.

Oh goodness what a treat. We have eaten in many Michelin restaurants and this is high quality amazing service, extremely attentive from the minute we walked in.
The valentines 5 courses was great value for such divine food and champagne. It felt very special. We had a great table which would likely be for four so plenty of room for all the glasses and fresh hot bread too.
Thank you Jason and team for a wonderful evening.

Just amazing. I can honestly say it is the best meal I have ever had. The flavours were out of this world and the service from the staff was second to none. We felt very special and well looked after. Outstanding!

Very nice - the service was a bit pushy on selling drinks . That was a bit annoying - they tried to be nice but that was too much.

Absolutely one of the best meals me and my family have had. Faultless! I do not understand how this is not a Michellin starred restaurant. Credit to the chef and his team.

I was very excited to come to The Betterment for my birthday, as I'm a big fan of Jason Atherton, The food didn't disappoint, it was all exceptional. The Langoustine Bisque was utterly beautiful - if I'd been at home I would have licked the bowl! I've marked down the Service and Value slightly - whilst the service was very good and attentive, we felt 'pressure' to order wine/Champagne etc. and the approach was a bit too 'salesy' - we were asked quite a few times what wine we wanted to order; however me and my guest are not big drinkers. Also, slightly marked down Value as there were no canapes/amuse bouche included in the set menu - a lot of fine dining/michelin star restaurants offer that as standard, so the value feels slightly better in other places. Overall though, just superb.

Amazing service from the moment you walk in. Sommelier was particularly great, but then so was our waiter. The only downside (and I even use that word lightly) is the hotel-esq setting.

Such a disappointment. I frequently eat out in London with my partner, we are extremely lucky to dine in London’s finest though never have we sampled what Mr Atherton has to offer. I can only describe what we experienced as poor!
The restaurant itself has a very cold atmosphere which is most certainly not a comforting experience.
On the whole the staff were good, happy, friendly and attentive though we did have one specific waitress who made no attempt to hide the fact that she clearly wishes she were somewhere else, I can only describe her as ‘miserable’
Food, not great either, style over substance comes to mind here! Very bland, over priced and generally not good! The Tomahawk steak was a huge disappointment, having sampled a Tomahawk in Oblix at the Shard just a couple of weeks earlier, there was no comparison, Oblix have my vote!
Unfortunately we shall not be returning to this restaurant nor shall we dine at any other of Mr Athertons establishment, I guess you never know till you try! Such a shame!

A very lovely restaurant inside an wonderful hotel. Nice ambience, outstanding service, very diverse and extraordinary menu making choice selection difficult (in a good way). Extensive wine list. You won't be lacking for choice and the quality it high. Prices are commensurate with quality, but for a special occasion it is worth it.
