    Beautiful surroundings, gorgeous food and great service.. all at a very good price. This is always feels like such a special venue to visit and the food is really top notch, cooked wonderfully and also stunningly presented. I am fussy with my roast dinners and this is perfect for Sunday lunch!

    I decided to take my friend for Sunday lunch and had booked the previous day. Overall the food was good but when we arrived we could see that there were plenty of tables for two available but were show 3 settings that I would never have picked and I was told that the other tables were not available to us, which annoyed me slightly. They need to move the maitre d’ stand away from the tables (there is room to) as we had a constant flow of people standing next to us waiting to be seated

    Attentive service, very nice food and a lovely setting. Asked for wholemeal bread on all sandwiches when booked which was arranged. Conservatory was fairly busy when we arrived at 1530 but after an hour, it was nice and quiet. Finished with a walk around the picturesque grounds.

    Had a fantastic afternoon tea at Salomons , friendly staff, food was delicious and lots of it , very attentive staff, checking if we needed anything. Setting is lovely, amazing views of the grounds in conservatory, Shout out to Jackie ,who made it extra special for us.

    We arrived early had a drinks before we were seated. Staff friendly. The food was excellent. Had drinks after the meal in the sitting room area. Enjoyed our visit.

    It was our wedding anniversary and enjoyed our time here - unfortunately we were the only couple there so atmosphere was limited. However the staff were great and very attentive which made up for it. It was great value for money and would go again and I would recommend it to everyone.

    The cream tea was lovely, the scones were very tasty. Considering there were only three tables, the service was a little slow, we then has to go up to the bar to ask as no one had come to ask if we needed anything.

    We were recommended to come here by friends who were dining with us They had beeb before and had a delicious dinner including smoked salmon. We arrived to find the room empty Only one other diner came in all the time were there. The menu was was very disappointing with little choice and uninspiring. For the main course there were two types of burger, one meat and one veggie, scampi and chips and pork belly. Two desserts, chocolate brownie and a raspberry semi freddo cheesecake which our friend ordered and was frozen solid. The choice of drinks was limited too We ordered two different burgers and two portions of scampi and chips which were OK but unexciting. The meat burger was hard to chew. The cheeseboard was a redeeming factor and our waitress was friendly and helpful but we received no apology for the slow service. We waited ages for the food in each course to arrive but probably not as long as the other diner waited for his. We were staying onsite and this was supposed to be a special dinner but that it definitely was not. What has gone wrong?

    A quietly hidden gem surrounded by beautiful woodland and gardens. Free parking and free entry to walk around the estate's gardens and also the rooms! Drinks and food were reasonably priced considering the location and ambience. Well worth a visit.

    What a beautiful setting. So calm and serene with lovely, friendly staff. We had lunch and took part in a lovely Easter egg hunt here on Easter Sunday and really enjoyed ourselves. The staff on the front desk and in the restaurant were very accommodating and considerate and our children were made to feel very welcome too. Can’t wait to return.

    Had a lovely family Easter Sunday lunch at David Salomons Estate yesterday. The food was delicious, the service by staff excellent and the restaurant very peaceful in a beautiful room. We took a stroll after lunch around the fabulous grounds in the sunshine. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

    Absolutely impeccable service, I took my mum here for Mother's Day. Food was delicious, and very well presented. Surprisingly very good value for the quality. View over the grounds was breathtaking, a nice added bonus. Will visit again 10/10

    We had a wonderful experience and was made to feel very special,comfortable and looked after during our visit. Food and drinks came swiftly and were delish! Navin our waiter was so attentive funny and friendly to us and everyone around us, a great asset to solomons team! we will definitely return and recommend in the future.

    The food was great. We were unfortunately served out of date butter, but they apologised and gave us our first round of drinks for free. The potatoes were slightly over cooked but still tasty. We are getting married here in May 2024 and think our experience on Sunday is a good sign! We will return for dining again.

    Nice food at an excellent price and in great surroundings. The only downside was the service. Great waiter but it took ages for food to appear once the order was placed. nearly 2 hours for a two course meal for four people. Luckily we were in no rush but if you are on a deadline then beware. Maybe it was a staffing issue but given that it was only maybe 15% capacity I think service would have collapsed altogether if any more people turned up without bookings.

    Nice room. Museum is cool grounds are beautiful and staff were good. Food just doesn’t do the surroundings justice. Over cooked chicken and burger. Real shame.

    Just bear in mind that the venue may have been booked for a Wedding & your lunch and/or evening dining experience may be moved to the museum side, which is not as enjoyable as the main dining area.

    Lovely setting for a 60th wedding anniversary . Food was lovely off the main menue and the service was fantastic . We sat in the conservatory which was a little hot but we were brought fans so it cooled down . Lovely to go for a stroll to the lake before lunch and visit the museum . I would say it was a perfect place for a meal or even a chat and a coffee with friends

    First time here.....beautiful setting, but conservatory where we sat was run down, chipped paintwork, broken skirting, dirty windows, and cheap fairy lights/plastic vine drooping down windows obscuring the view. Food was acceptable, service was very poor......waited at the bar for a while before a young lad appeared and having booked we were told to sit where we wanted, to grab a menu and come back to order drinks and the meal, which was odd given the setting. Subsequently other couples and groups were seated by another more friendly waiter, brought menus, and their orders taken so felt we were treated badly. When we finished our meal our so called waiter told us rudely to pay at the bar before we left whilst other tables paid at their tables. Very disappointed.....such a shame. Avoid!!!

    We went back to this venue as it is where we got married 25 years ago I would still to this day recommend this fantastic venue for any special occasion . We had a lovely roast dinner which was huge but very tasty . The staff were brilliant very friendly and couldn’t do enough. Well worth a visit the grounds are fantastic .

    Salomons is only a 10 minute walk from my house but I do not think about going to it because I thought it mainly just caters for weddings. I'm really glad I did visit the food was really good and reasonably priced compared to other places nearby. The main thing is the setting though, it was a lovely sunny and the views from the terrace are amazing. I'm really quite surprised there were so few people there, it seems to be a secret, they really should promote it more.
