   When we discovered the place we'd been aiming for was temporarily closed we had to quickly find somewhere else to eat. This was an unlikely looking place for such good food. The starters and mains were well thought out and expertly cooked. Also the staff clearly cared about our meal and experience. The desserts were a bit disappointing but that can be forgiven due to the high quality of the rest of the food we'd eaten so we didn't mention it to the waitress. I would happily eat here again.

   Our experience was very disappointing. The main pork dish was very salty & the rice pudding dessert was stodgy & tasteless (it reminded me of school dinners!). The quality and quantity did not equate to what we paid. Since the restaurant was almost empty it's difficult to comment on the ambience. The staff were friendly & efficient. Overall, not worth what we paid.

   With a commitment to local, seasonal and organic ingredients, you would expect the chefs to make the most of them. And they do. The salad with gooseberries and the risotto with rhubarb were beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. The service was attentive and friendly. The cost was surprisingly low given the quality of food and service. I'd recommend a visit.

    Had a fabulous meal on Friday evening - always nice to sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine before starting your meal. Would definitely recommend the Scotch Egg starter, its an absolute must and delicious! Felt the restaurant was quite quiet for a Friday night so ambience not as good as previous visits but it was a lovely evening and you can always count on the food being a high quality. Definitely recommend.
