The Blind Pig
Secretly tucked away in Dublin city centre, there is an underground cocktail bar known for the quality and artistry of its cocktails that truly evoke the mood of a 1920s speakeasy — The Blind Pig, an underground venue that will tantalize the taste buds of cocktail lovers everywhere. We serve Prohibition cocktails coupled with delicious New York Italian food six days a week. Open from 6pm Sunday-Thursday and 5pm on Friday and Saturday. Experience the forgotten thrill of secret passwords, false storefronts and just a touch of lawlessness. But you have to keep it a secret. So shush!
The venue was lovely, atmosphere was great! Service & food 10/10. Definitely will be back.
Food was cold. They didn’t have our booking information because I booked on Open Table.
Great cocktails at this cosy speakeasy! Would definitely go back!
Excellent place. A lot of fun trying to find the place since it is a "speakeasy"
What a fun experience. Hard to find. Basically enter another restaurant, go downstairs and dead ahead is a glass bookcase. Press the iron pigs head on the left wall and the bookcases open to reveal the speakeasy. An attractive stone cellar much like an elegant wine cellar. Interesting cocktails and good food.
The Blind Pig has two types to reservations , drinks only and dining. When booking thru OpenTable there is no option to pick, so I assumed our reservation was for dining. Upon arrival we were informed kitchen was closed. It was my birthday and was very dissappointed. The staff was so accommodating. They arranged to bring the cook back in for gourmet pizzas. We had great service, lovely atmosphere, and music. Thanks again for all your efforts towards making the special.
Excellent dinner experience in Dublin. Fun, delicious food, creative cocktails.
Great cocktails, great service, and great atmosphere. An absolute gem hidden in the city.
Had previously been to The Blind Pig in May 2019 and had a fantastic meal, however this experience was very different. I took a friend who was visiting and and we are both pescatarian. Previously there had been an extensive Vegetarian/ Vegan menu however this is now gone and there are only 2/3 vegetarian main courses.
For starter we shared the avocado caprese salad. What came was slices of avocado and tomato with some shredded cheese (!!) sprinkled on top, a drop of balsamic vinegar and some rocket, not basil as described on menu.
For main we had the mushroom tortellini and the gnocchi with prawn and burrata. The tortellini pasta was thick and stodgy and came with some thin unseasoned creamy sauce, 3 cold cherry tomatoes and 3 grapes all cut in half, but overall the dish was edible.
The gnocchi on the other hand was so overcooked it was totally inedible. It fell to mush when you tried to lift it on your fork. There was no sauce, no seasoning, just 3 cold cherry tomatoes cut in half, some coarsely sliced courgette and a few prawns. And as for Burrata? One small disc melted on top no bigger than a two euro coin. This dish is on the menu for 20 euro.
We ended up asking for the gnocchi to be taken off the bill and the waitress kindly apologized and did so. Felt bad for her having to serve this food which she obviously knew was sub-par.
Don't know what's changed in The Blind Pig but I cannot remember the last time I had such a horrendous meal in a restaurant and I definitely won't be back - too many nice restaurants in Dublin to bother giving it another try.
The waiter said it wasn't a restaurant even though it was. They kept burning cheap incense inside a cellar without proper ventilation which was crazy. Very average food, the place seems more of a gimmick than a actual restaurant. There was nice live music playing. There are three different restaurants in the same building all owned by the same person and they serve the food out of the same kitchen. Seems a little off.
Delicious meal with excellent drinks in a very atmospheric setting!
All was ok, starters and deserts were nice. Main course pasta and gnocchi dishes were nice. 3 of us had sea food platter, and was just tasteless, over cooked fish and prawns, rubbery squid, no seasoning. This could definitely could be improved.
This place is AMAZING!! If you’re ever in Ireland, make it a point to visit and ask a for Andrew. He’s an amazing bartender :)
Very nice restaurant at an unexpected place. You need to go into an other restaurant to come here.
The food was really delicious; it was fresh and cooked perfect.
overpriced for average fare; lack of wine selection also not great and no value at all on the wine
Poor quality of food and very limited winelist. Not comfotable either i get what rheyre trying to do but very disappointed.
Wonderful experience. The live music from Joanne Marie Burke was spectacular. A great hidden gem.
Unique experience - really enjoyed the atmosphere.
However very expensive cocktails that simply do not live up to their price tag.
A €13/14 cocktail should be served in something better than what would appear to be a cheap wine glass with no garnish.
Great vibe, fab ambience, cocktails delicious and food hearty. Don’t miss it!
Booked for my boyfriends birthday and the food and drinks were fab, then they even surprised us with a candle in the dessert which was a nice touch.
Had a lovely evening and great food
The staff where very friendly
cocktails are better at other places. The secret door was cool - but the food was just piazza and stuff and the cocktails were just OK
I loved it at first. The concept is great and it was well designed. Food was really good and very decent cocktails. But we went there for a celebration and although the lady waitress was delightful, the other guy was a real buzz kill. He just seemed really unhappy in his work. Eventually we left and went to another bar where the staff were more fun
Food was beautiful, ambiance was great but the service was very poor. The waitress was straight up rude. Pity because everything else was fab!
We were in Dublin last week, and went to Blind Pig, we had a great time! Our server Rodrigo was awesome and Federico the mixologist created some tasty drinks, our favor was Bon Bon. We will definitely tell our friends about this restaurant. We went for dinner and drinks on Wednesday and came back for drinks on Thursday, February 7, 2019.
Loved our evening at the Blind Pig! From the moment we booked and got the secret code to get in to the underground speakeasy, through to the food and cocktails we loved all of it. Staff were really knowledgable and friendly, the musician that was in was perfect for the atmosphere, the food was delicious and the cocktails were potent! Highly recommend.
Great place for a quirky night out, loved the whole idea of how it is set up, food was excellent, service excellent, would definitely recommend.
Really cool resteraunt. I like the way you have to push a button for the secret door to open. Really good cocktails. It’s a little pricey for Italian food but would recommend it.
Our group of 12 had a lovely meal here. For starters, we had grilled veggies, charcuterie and burrata mozarella, and my main was the pumpkin tortelloni. While it is not the best Italian food in Dublin, it was yummy and nicely presented. The Blind Pig is particularly great for its ambiance: a cosy cellar-like space, with flapper-era music and intimate lighting. We asked for a custom, surprise cocktail and we got a wonderful gin-based concoction. The service was very polite.
Really enjoyed our meal here on Saturday evening. Great athmosphere!
We had a lovely experience celebrating our anniversary in the Blind Pig. Such a cool concept with the hidden location, the ambiance was so pleasant and the staff were relaxed and friendly. Food was delish and the cocktails were unreal. Cant really ask for more! Looking forward to our next visit!
Really tasty food , lovely ambiance however there was some live music and as we were right beside it it was too loud for us and difficult to chat, too much for 7pm in the evening i thought, otherwise was great
Beautiful, romantic quiet restaurant tucked into the streets of Dublin. Wonderful date spot!
Entry into The Blind Pig was unusual but fun. The only downfall was the smell of incense on arrival.
Really enjoyable, food delicious.
Interesting hideaway restaurant that specializes in cutom cocktails. The speakeasy theme is neat but not really played up once you're there. A great place to go for dinner, once. PS. A reservation is a must and they only allow 2 hours max per seating so don't expect to hang out real long.
Food very average... service excellent... ambiance cosy ...
Amazing cocktails, great food, and very attentive staff
Great service, lovely setting and good vegetarian options
The only negative thing the winelist is very poor and the prices are too high
The Blind Pig is rated 4.4 stars by 146 OpenTable diners.
