Located just below the Howth DART station, its live music and late night bar create a real party atmosphere that’s proven a major attraction for locals as well as those travelling from Dublin city centre. In the heart of the picturesque town of Howth and its impressive harbour.
Really good quality fresh food. Friendly service and good value.
Food was excellent, service was poor , inexperienced waitress that forgot more than she remembered, and then tried to rush us , taking plates not finished, told us too late for dessert .
Good food, good service and very good value. Booked table on OpenTable.ie, easy and user friendly site
Lovely evening and so cosy to have th open fire.
My husband and I had a great night out in the Bloody stream. The staff were very good and the food was excellent . Five stars for the bloody stream .
Service was not great food was good
Beautiful food , great staff. Couldn’t be more helpful and it was Christmas Eve at 5pm ! Thanks
Delicious seafood Chowder !!
Very cozy and not too loud for a pub. Dessert could've been better but overall it's good value for money. I recommend it.
PS. They have high chairs 👍🏻
Hit the spot. Good atmosphere and excellent service
I would recommend to a friend alas I would not recommend the salmon as it was burnt. The toilets are a disgrace for the capacity that the pub holds.
When it's near 9.30 to 10pm and the food shift ends, it's a rush all round to.get the tables back to normal and of course so the staff can leave
Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food
Delicious food. Great beer selection. Great service. You should eat here!
Fish & chips fish batter too heavy... Or used old cooking oil.
Very good but might be my last meal as my friend with whom I came on several occasions is going to England to live with foster son. Life moves on. I will see what I will do!
A beautiful venue which was very busy with a great atmosphere and live music in the outside area. Great food and lovely staff. Would definitely return on another occasion.
There for lunch on June back holiday Saturday. Great food, great service, great staff and great atmosphere. Only negative was music was a little loud for my 82 year old mother but overall very happy with everything.
Beautiful location in Howth. We were there on a sunny Sunday, and the pub was heaving with people. Nevertheless, when we were taken to our table, the restaurant area, though busy, was not unpleasantly so. Very good seafood.
Lovely service, great food, a very enjoyable meal. Excellent waitress, very accommodating to our group
Food was good quality and tasty. The pub itself is dirty and the gents toilets are filthy with black flys everywhere which is not nice in a venue with food !!
Food was decent. Good selection of alcohol. Staff barely came near us during the 3 course meal was the main negative. Waiting a long time for plates to be cleared. Ordering desert, more drinks etc was a chore.
Wasn't enough waitresses on for the evening. Was left standing waiting when we walked in waitresses seen us standing waiting and just walked past. Came here specifically for the early bird menu and when we arrived they told us it wasnt on this evening only the more expensive menu because it was valentines night despite the fact they were advertising the early bird prices outside on the boards. Only giving people the more expensive option just because it was valentines when you're advertising an early bird menu is bad business. Food portions were also fairly small the Guinness pie came out in a big dish and then when you took off the pastry top the bowl was a quarter full! Was lovely the first time we came to the restaurant but won't be going back after having seeing how they value exploiting their customers by only offering the more expensive menu and not even putting on a decent amount of staff to serve an expected busy crowd.
13 of us had lunch here 06th Jan before our brother headed home after being home for xmas. Cannot fault them. From food to staff. We weren't rushed so we could sit and chat when lunch was finished. Definitely a new favourite to eat at. Thanks a mill Bloody Stream xxxx
Great place for a casual celebration. We were there on New Year’s Eve for dinner - it was a great alternative to the madness that is Dublin on a night such as that.
I went on New years eve, service was slow but that was accepted as it was pretty busy. Food was fantastic, had steak and it was wow!! Very good price too! Will defo be back.
The food was over cooked and the whole night a guy who worked there was following me and my friends and just watching us. It ruined the night and we ended up just leaving because we felt intimidated
Delicious food reasonably priced, efficient service and handy for parking. Would definitely return to try other food on the menu.
The crab claws on Special were the worst I've ever had. They had an awful strong smell, were v small ( 4 in total) as if cooked many times and smothered in a sauce to mask the fact they were old and re-used. Worst ever and I always order them when I dine out! Seafood linguine nice. Seafood platter average- mussels the best.
Great service, friendly staff and gorgeous food at a cheap price. Will definitely be back again.
I have had both dinner and lunch in The Bloody Stream and have always found the ambiance warm, friendly and welcoming, with the good selection of background music non-intrusive. The food is excellent, beautifully served and comes in generous portions.
And when the sun is shining, eating al fresco is another delight. The conviviality of meeting total strangers across the rustic tables and of people-watching the passers-by is reminiscent of Mediterranean countries. Except, of course, for Wrights' smoked salmon and other high quality fish products.
Very disappointing visit there last Thursday for lunch with six friends. Excellent location but did not live up to recommendation received. We ordered our starters and main courses just after 1.00pm. Starter's arrived after circa 15/20 mins but at 2.00pm we had to ask waiter about main courses. Got very offhand response and they were eventually served about ten minutes later. A number of people who arrived and ordered after us were finished and gone before we started our mains. Food OK but ruined by poor service. Would not recommend this place again.
This was our first visit. Our table was promptly ready - bonus! The ambiance of the place is very good, cosy old Irish Pub vibe. Sitting is tight, but to be expected. The food options were reasonable, something for everyone. We were there on a Sunday at 2:30 pm, my biggest disappointment was how sticky everything was. By everything, I mean the table and the windowsill. Age is one thing, but not being properly cleaned is another. Perhaps this is a once off - as I said it was our first time there. My son had a cheeseburger, which he enjoyed until he made it to the half that was burnt. I tried it myself to make sure and it was heavily charred on that side. The chips were a big hit by the husband - chipper style, meaty and a bit limp. I prefer them to be more well done. My mussels were tasty and the brown bread absolutely delicious. The wings received positive reviews as well. The blue cheese 'sauce' accompanying them is a bit bland though. The service for drinks orders/reorders was quite slow. I'd think that would be the push as usually that's where the pubs make their money. Now the place was hopping, so maybe they were a bit understaffed that day. All staff were smiling and positive, which is important. Since this is our first go, we are not deterred from trying the Bloody Stream again.
We have eaten here on numerous occasions I even encouraged my work crowd to get the dart from town at Christmas for our night out .. They will be returning this year... Staff so friendly and down to earth nothing's an issue for them .. Food divine I'd recommend the calamari and prawn platter for starters😊 Dining al fresco when the sun is out feels like being on the Costas as the beer garden benefits from sun and shade .. Overall has a great friendly athmosphere which makes you want to come again .. Highly recommended 😉
