This was the first time we have been to The Blue Ball - and would certainly return.
Excellent staff- engaging, polite and efficient. Great food. Thoroughly recommend - plenty of parking and super outdoor and indoor space. Thanks for a great evening!
First class service with a smile.
Great food and good selection of drinks.
We booked via the app and were seated in a window table as soon as we arrived. Service and choice of food were excellent, food arrived piping hot in a short time.
The bar, table and toilets were all very clean. nothing was too much trouble for the staff .
Parking was excellent, and I managed to charge my EV whilst there.
Excellent food. Polite, friendly, efficient staff. Lovely decor. Very enjoyable lunch!
Good food, good service. I would recommend to friends and family
The tables were well spaced out and there was plenty of hand sanitiser available. Even the place settings were nicely spaced out.
The staff were friendly, but there was quite a wait to order, between courses and to get the bill.
The menu was extensive and varied. My beef and ale pie looked a bit mass produced, but the veg were very nice. One of my friends had the fish, which looked amazing and the portion was extremely generous!
Our desserts were all lovely.
I had been nervous about going out since COVID, but I felt very safe t The Blue Ball.
Good food, nice atmosphere & friendly staff, always enjoy the meals here would highly recommend.
Nice and delicious :) The staff was very kind. Big, tasty portions :)
Perfect venue for a lunchtime reunion with friends. Friendly prompt service. Nothing too much trouble. Will definitely be back.
Lovely food enjoyed our experience we will def rerun
Excellent restaurant/pub. Restaurant a bit brightly lit, pub perhaps more ambient. Food was excellent.
My steak was cooked exactly as I asked and was so tender and succulent. Chicken pie amazing. Staff friendly and obliging. Environment clean and relaxing. Definitely will return.
Limited vegetarian and gf options. No gf beer. Food was pretty average but service was good.
Very slow service which was a shame as rest of eve and food was excellent
A Tuesday night treat with a visiting guest. Great staff on that night.
Consistently good food, well presented with a smile.
First class as always, great team, great food 👍
An excellent Sunday roast in every way. Would recommend highly.
Excellent meal and service
Would recommend 😃😃😃
The staff were very good and the food was great, we had a good lunch and we all enjoyed it. There were a couple of down sides to our lunch in that it took rather a long time to clear our plates when we had finished and wanted another drink . I would have to say that the drinks are very expensive to the point that i will not visit again, but if you just want a meal its fine.
I had a lovely roast dinner but not much choice for vegetarians.
Very pleased with everything,
Only gripe I have they charged for 2 flat white coffee when we only had one,
My fault for not checking before I payed the bill.
The place has had some loving refurb and looks bright and clean. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious especially the the veg with the roasts. Desserts lovely. We will be back.
It was very busy and the pub was short staffed, that did not however make a difference to the amazing food and service
Excellent customer service! Really understanding and accommodating after our long journey and delays. Super friendly staff and excellent food
Another lovely lunch, this time on the way back home! Lovely food, great portions. The service was brilliant - friendly without being intrusive. Thanks again!
Bit disappointed that the servers were not wearing masks. It was suggested that there was a one way system in place that did not seem to be the case. Overall apart from the fact that the customers had to wear masks when moving around, and the tables were a decent distance apart would not have known COVID existed. Chose this venue as the impression on the media was that it was using the original COVID rules, we had one elderly vulnerable person and another younger but equally vulnerable person with us, and felt a little uncomfortable at the largesse of the pub as regards COVID. Exeter is a hot spot for COVID one of the worst cities in the UK which added further concern. Food was fine nothing to write home about, and the prices whilst seemingly high are as many pubs now, prices seem to have increased everywhere.
Been there several times, but not rushing back
Nice staff, delicious food, good selection of beers on tap and ample parking.
We have eaten at the BB several times before, met some friends there for lunch, we all had their excellent sandwiches. A very enjoyable time.
It was not as relaxed as I was expecting. Courses were brought out quickly and it felt a little rushed. We were sat right by the doors to the kitchen and the lady that seemed to be in charge was very loud when ordering and sorting staff members out. Our waitress couldn’t do enough for us though.
My advice when booking a table would be to request it away from the kitchens.
Great food and value for money
Called in for lunch after a shopping trip to Exeter service was great really friendly staff and food was lovely good quality and taste will definitely come back and recommend to family and friends.
Bad service no steak knifes had to ask for them no sauces offered and had to ask for part of my ordered
Great experience. Food and service really good
We had a lovely lunch here on our way through to Cornwall. Delicious food with great portions (for both adults and children) delivered with great service. We’ll be back on our way home!
Very good service and great food - thank you to the staff!
The Sunday lunch was the best Sunday lunch I’ve ever had at a out it was amazing - I was apprehensive at first as the menu didn’t have chicken and also the kids menu is very limited and I would suggest needs a little more variety as children are fussy so chicken nuggets and a plain burger would be a good addition.
But the food itself was amazing and I would return on a regular just for the Sunday lunch so hats off to the chef!
And also we had a lemon and lime cheesecake for dessert which again was absolutely lovely !
So all in all for the standard of food, service and price I give top marks
Very good food. Great gluten free selection and EV charging.
The service was exceptionally good. Staff were efficient, polite and friendly.
Food was great, large portions and lots of choice. I definitely ate more than I should’ve because it was so good.
Nice surroundings, nothing flashy, comfortable and a bit like visiting a large cottage.
This pub is very near to where I live and my second visit since covid started to ease. The first thing I noticed was the price . Most meals averaged at £11 on my last visit now they are £15. Menu is trimmed right down so not much choice. I am sure there is a legitimate reason for this however not one single salad dish on the menu at the peak of summer which is very odd, particularly as their ceaser salad used to be the best ever !! Has this changed hands ?
Service was dire , still waiting for ice for our drinks 24hrs later 😂😂
Had to seek attention every time. Guy went to get a dessert menu, never to appear again
. The waitress managed to do this in 10 seconds when asked...... perhaps he went to the loo? Who knows . Overall a little disappointed. The gang that was there before were attentive , funny and the service was always fab. So sad really
