Great food and service from the waitresses. They were friendly very chatty and engaged in good banter which added to the whole experience. On top of that the food was incredible and certainly value for money
Very friendly welcome from all staff and service was excellent throughout. Food also good.
Nice and easy dinning, with good setting, service and food.
Good food, lovely staff & they do a great breakfast as well
Delicious breakfast and delightful service. Lovely room and reasonably priced
Great atmosphere. Friendly staff and lovely food. See you again soon.
Excellent service very friendly staff , varied breakfast menu & my poached eggs with avocado was very tasty
I would love to recommend if a few adjustments were made... so minor but so crucial. Beautiful day but every single table in the garden was covered with bird poo and the grass uncut... why?
Stunning place but the language (swearing aloud) from staff was not okay. Conversations about “crap” earnings should be saved for after hours.
Wish the staff were more mindful because it is such a stunning place that I would make regular visits much more frequent if these small adjustments were made!
Food is stunning, fresh and definitely worth the higher price tag so please let the service be given in sympathy
I visited for a special lunch with my 7 year old daughter and was let down by the above remarks. Nonetheless I will return because I know the place is worth a second chance. 🖤
Warm welcome, excellent beer, food very good as was the cheerful service. Was everything a pub lunch should be. Will definitely return when next in UK. Prices were very reasonable also and a very relaxed atmosphere.
Beautiful beef. So much flavour to perfection. The trickle pudding however tasted like a lemon sponge, not sure if they got our order wrong. Still taste good though!
Lady served was a delight & food great couldn’t fault
Lovley place! We liked the French influence in the design of decor. The garden is a showstopper and the food was as expected. They even had a an Easter egg hunt for the kids in the garden which we did after dinner. We will go back for sure.
Been meaning to go here for a while, now wished we has gone sooner, lovely place great food and drinks, we will be back without a doubt!
The food was nicely presented, quality was excellent and the portion size was about right. However, the service was appallingly slow. It took about 25 minutes for someone to take our desert order and then another 15 minute wait . That was unacceptable.
Sunday lunch for 5 on 7th April. Potato and Leek soup starter was very tasty as were the spicy chicken wings. All three roasts were excellent though a bit more bread sauce with the chicken wouldn't go amiss!! Burger was one of the best ever. Nice to be encouraging children to eat greens but baked beans would be a nice alternative with the sausages and mash. Desserts also very good - crème brulee, syrup sponge and coconut panna cotta. Very good pint of Wolf Golden Jackal from the bar. Service was very good and our waitress very personable and attentive. Saw advertised in Norfolk Life magazine and will certainly return.
The main meals were delicious but overpriced. The starter was pate but more like a terrine and my daughters childs fish and chips had bones in it. It was ok overall, but I wouldn’t go back because of these reasons.
Had Sunday lunch for Mother's Day. Brilliant food and service!
We went for Saturday lunch at 1pm. We received our starters at 2pm and eventually paid the bill at 3.30pm. Not quite what we were expecting and tarnished the afternoon.
We've been before and was very pleasant and food was great. However the food did not live up to its high standard and therefore not worth the price.
It was a shame it wasnt as good this time.
Good food as always. Cocktail lovely as well. Will be back soon.
Very nice once again. Only disappointed with the lack of craft beer selection (the cans have disappeared)! And sad to see the newspaper menus have also gone! Not quite the same as it used to be. But still very nice.
It was a birthday meal for my mother-in-Law but the food didn’t seem as good as other occasions when we’ve eaten here. My broccoli in my cauliflower cheese was soggy, the potatoes tasted as though they had been frozen and my tarte tatin was burnt and almost broke my tooth!
My family’s meals seemed better but I think there should have been the option of a side of veg with their mains.
I was disappointed- not enough to not try for a third time lucky but felt it was such a shame as we’d had lovely food previously.
Great food, excellent service highly recommended good for families too
Good choices on the menu pity ran out of one of the dessert choices, excellent food and superb service. A really good evening
The food was good when it eventually arrived.
We sat in the bar this time as on our previous visit we had sat in the restaurant and the service was awful but we do keep trying😳
Our main courses were excellent, but unfortunately the desserts were disappointing they were let down by custard which was split and it should not have been served. We were there for a birthday celebration and I didn’t want to make a fuss
Good food, beautiful setting. Lovely place to have breakfast and start your morning.
Lovely food, well priced, but I wish they wouldn’t serve it on chopping boards instead of plates! Desserts tasted wonderful, but were poorly presented.
Great food, friendly helpful staff, and gorgeous space - well done. Definitely be back 😁
Friendly welcome. Nice warm atmosphere and efficient service. Menu has been recently been revamped but didn't match what was on Open Table site. Had to move table as a round one in the bar area was unstable (corks had been wedged in supporting struts)
Lovely pub, great food, friendly staff
Prices a little higher, then I would usually pay, but for a special occasion its ok. Only real gripe is that when I paid the bill, I was never brought my change. It was only £5 and I was going to leave it as a tip anyway, but it was the principle of the matter, that the waitress just presumed it was her tip!
The Boars is clearly very popular. We visited on Saturday night having booked a table for 4. There were very few empty tables. Inside is very nice and ambiance was good.
Disappointed in the selection of beers considering it is advertised as having a good selection of craft beers.
The waiting staff were very nice but seemed like it was understaffed as wait times for getting served seemed quite long. The food was only OK and on that basis none of my party of 4 would rush back.
Hi Thank you for the feedback. We are always looking to improve. I'm pleased that you enjoyed certain aspects of the experience. We did have a few issues on Saturday night that mean our usual standards were not met. Please email me at email@example.com as I'd love to encourage you to come back again
Service was very quick ,Food was good but 10 oz steak seemed a llttle under weight?
Hi Thank you for your review. We try to make sure all our steaks are the correct weight. If you want to book again drop me an email firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll organise a drink on me to apologise
there were only two vegetarian options and no vegan ones that I could see
HI Thank you for your review. Our Moroccan Vegetable Tagine is vegan friendly and delicious :)
Excellent as always.
This is based on two visits - one midweek before Christmas, one on a Sunday lunch time. The score in based on a 5 pre christmas and a 3 on the Sunday.
Pre Christmas we ate from the Christmas menu. It wasnt busy and everything came quickly and was excellent. There was far more than we could eat. A first class experience.
On Sunday when it was busy, they couldnt really cope and the wait for a carvery was too long. It was OK but the starters were a list pricey and the desserts were bland. The carvery wasnt generous (three not too big roasties) - the meat was well cooked but the roasties had that slightly stale taste from hanging around too long.
I would dine again but only at non busy times.
roast dinner very poor overcooked veg and non tasty meat and not very much of it.Poor value for money.
Food here is always excellent and has a good range of beers/larger. Booked online and the table was in a nice spot. Sadly there is a negative and that is from order to starters we waited 40 mins then from starters to main we waited another 40 mins. This has happened on multiple visits, not just one. So not the place to go if you are very hungry and want quick service. But the food is always excellent, especially the venison sausages!!!! Would also be great if the menu varied a bit more. Will keep going as its now our local and excellent food.
Friendly welcome, staff know the menu and food very well and recommended something to me that I would never have chosen myself and it was amazing. Main course Plaice was just perfect, thank you
Lovely meal with my hubby and 4 year old son. Lovely friendly atmosphere 😀
Beautiful atmosphere and love how amazing the quality of food is. Yes expensive but everything was high quality so I appreciated the price
