Outstanding service, food and ambiance. Highly recommend
Tasty, good service, great atmosphere. Would highly recommend for a special night out.
The food was sensational. The cocktails were amazing. Our waitress on the night was great. Not too sure of her name but she had short black hair. Took great care of us.
went out for date night for the first time since having a baby, when we got there it was too quiet and awkward (nice music would have been good)
all our food was burnt except for the carrots, view is lovely but food and atmosphere not that great, the 2 young staff on the till when we left did not know how to split a bill (we had a voucher to use) and we had to wait around for another 10-15 mins until they could find someone to work the till out.....................
we also wanted to pay cash for the remaining and wasn't aloud? money is money isn't it?
anyway the wait staff were lovely :)
We had a lovely dinner at the Boathouse, there was a very limited selection of meals however the food was fresh and the portions large.
Perfect in all aspects. The little extras for valentines day made the occasion that little bit more memorable. Cant wait to return.
Was a pleasant and enjoyable meal staff were great and we had beautiful views.
Outstanding dinner and location. We will definitely be back!
The food was cooked to perfection, it was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful would definitely eat there again
Great dining experience, beautiful views and staff were fantastic.
Service was amazing. Lovely friendly staff who made sure we were comfortable at all times.
Food was delicious. Only tip, would love to see meals served with vegetables. Not have to buy them as extra.
Beautiful setting by the water.
We were very disappointed the food very average and selection even less than average. We expected that a hotel of the Calibre of Sails to have more than what was literally a cafe☹️
The service was extremely poor despite the fact that the establishment was not busy. I had to ask the Waitress to clear the table after it had been ignored for an hour after we finished our lunch. During that time the Waitress had passed the table many times with empty hands. Very disappointing. We will not be rushing back.
After being seated we ordered drinks, I asked for a bottle of the Piper Heidsieck (we were celebrating our wedding anniversary), was offered two bottles the Piper and the Charles which is $70 more expensive, I didn't know it was the more expensive one. Not recognising the label I went with the Charles to try something I hadn't had before, I assumed they were the same price, why else would he be offering it if I had already ordered the Piper.
Tried to order the scallops but they had run out.
Also ordered bottomless sparking water, after a very long wait our second bottle was flat and we had to ask for another.
Wait staff never offered to top up water or champagne glasses (a bit petty I know, but at this type of restaurant I thought the service would be better).
Mains came, I tried to order a red wine to go with food but they had also run out of it. The mains also came with your choice of sauce (an additional $4 each) we chose pan jus and rosemary red wine, both sauces were exactly the same.
Between each course felt like an eternity and finished plates took forever to be cleared.
Toilets had run out of paper and a box of tissues was placed under the dispenser (these are the only ones available to restaurant patrons and hadn't been cleaned in over 4 hours, I'd expect better during a pandemic).
Food was great
King Praws & Battered oinion rings (needed to order an aioli as dish only came with the rings)
Chicken & Lamb
Sticky date pudding
We don't get to go out very often without the kids and were hoping to celebrate our wedding anniversary with a nice dinner at what we thought would be a classy venue, easiest way to describe the experience was disappointing.
The food and service at the Boathouse was excellent. It was so beautiful to sit and admire the lovely marina and water while drinking a very tasty cocktail.
The serving sizes were very reasonable for the price, and the dishes quite tasty. Really enjoyed a shared cheese plate to finish, with a generous serving of crackers to get through it all. The mark up on the alcohol prices was a little high, though that is common at a lot of places these days, so a minor complaint.
The restaurant was pretty empty and we sat inside but we could not get a waitress to come anywhere near us. Had to ask for menus, three times for water, had to go and get staff to ask about the fish of the day. The food was very average , chips were overcooked, fish was dry. needless to say we wont be going back.
Very limited menu just one for vegetarians food pretty average
Food was good, service needs improvement (Chloe).
Located inside the Sails resort in Port Macquarie, the Boathouse is a very good in-house dining experience for the north coast of NSW. In holiday periods, there will always be lots of families and quite a bit of noise, but the current COVID-19 restrictions ease this somewhat. Staff very attentive and the food from the kitchen was delicious.
We have always enjoyed dining here and this occasion was no exception. Staff were friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. We both ordered the lamb dish with different sauces and enjoyed it very much. The cocktails, although a long time arriving as the bar staff were busy, were special too.
Amazing service & lovely staff. Food and cocktails were 10/10. Would highly recommend!
It was a lovely setting. The menu is small with limited choices but the meals served were very enjoyable.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
It was out 32nd wedding anniversary and we were so appreciative of a special night. Thanks to Larnie
First time customers, very impressed, will be back again!
I stay at this hotel every few months with my job. The hotel is lovely, but the restaurant is seriously lacking with a Small menu and not much variety - and barely any seafood!
Yesterday I had scallops for a starter which were 75% breadcrumbs. Awful. Chicken for a main. Chicken as a stand-alone was very good, but the potatoes as a side dish were not cooked through, nor were the side of carrots (not even al dente).
Dessert was a panacotta which a poor effort.
This restaurant could be so much more, but alas, isn’t.
Breakfast was better, corn fritters were very good.
Would recommend going to their sister restaurant Zebu at the other Rydges in the town (poor hotel, great restaurant) Much more variety and much better quality.
Not a very extensive menu
Service was good and location lovely
Food a bit ordinary for a resort restaurant
Ordered breakfast including 2 coffees, meals came, my baked beans on toast, bread not fresh and lukewarm beans. Finished brekki without coffees. Asked where coffees were then only 1 came, after 10 mins we went to bar and asked for the other. Terrible service and only few people in there. We avoided any further dining by going elsewhere. I must say, poolside ordering was prompt.
To be honest we were a little disappointed as our entree’s order was not placed and our mains and entree came out all the same time.
Disappointed in the food. Service was good though
Service was very slow. We thought we'd been forgotten about because we were waiting for so long before anyone came to take our order.
The food is overpriced, especially since the steaks don't come with any chips, salad or veges.
Upon arrival to our table, there were no plates ready for entree. Our entree order was taken close to arrival, but our main orders were taken after finishing our entree. We are used to both entrees and mains being ordered at the same time. As there were no plates at the table upon arrival, one of my guests had to use the menu as a plate, which is not acceptable. Choice of desserts was very minimal and disappointing. I know you were under staffed, but having a big booking like ours, you should have been more prepared with additional staff. The young girl who did look after our table in the beginning was well presented and friendly. Overall I would not return or recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
Was a lovely meal but I was a little surprised at the menu. It wasn’t very extensive & I was expecting more fresh seafood. The staff were lovely.
We found the menu indicated casual eats and was not very extensive so we were very surprised when the meals came out. The steak and the chicken were melt-in-the-mouth and the potatoes were to die for. Very nice.
