We had a breakfast at The Boathouse. Excellent food and excellent service followed by a stroll around the Barbican and The Hoe. Perfect start to the day.
Breakfast was excellent service excellent and very good value for money
Fantastic meal at the boat house yesterday! They always do great food down there and the service is brilliant. This is the first time i've been for a Christmas dinner and it's one of the best i've had and the portion was very generous, i went in at lunch time and was still full in the evening :) in terms of covid security, they are very well organised. Very clean and tidy and everything is well space out, i wouldn't hesitate to go back for another meal, felt at ease the whole time i was there
Fabulous food and the staff were friendly and welcoming as always, while making sure everyone stays safe.
We've been here many times and are always greeted like old friends.
The restaurant was lovely, the food was great, especially the scallops.
It was a tad cold by the windows.
The service was excellent, even the chef asked how the food was when passing.
The staff were so friendly made us feel very welcome
Quiet and well spaced out so very covid safe. Great food and service.
Great friendly service, lovely food.
Good location and has outside seating if the weather is .
Good varied choice of food. Really enjoyed the meal. Staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely come back again.
Overall our lunch at The Boathouse was nice. They didn’t have GF bread but did replace this with chips free of charge.
The tiger prawns lacked flavour. The mussels were lovely and the scallops were delicious.
For a casual lunch by the sea it was very nice. The manager provided excellent service.
It didn’t live up to expectations of a high end seafood restaurant however.
Another great lunch at The Boathouse. What more do I need to say, other than thanks.
Most of the food wasn’t nice - overcooked.
Social distances not enforced - one way system not adhered to and customers walking around without masks.
Staff clocked off at 9pm and sat in the corner drinking and were buying drinks when we left at 10pm - We weren’t asked to leave and they didn’t close at 10pm so pretty sure this is illegal.
Chef took bins out a couple of times and then didn’t wash hands
Also stuck his hands down his trousers then continued to touch the bar when buying drinks.
Hopefully the hygiene standards are higher within the kitchen - doubtful, but we’d eaten by this point.
It’s a shame because it’s a great location and the restaurant it’s self is lovely.
Good food and good service, always a great place to eat with roomy restaurant and great views
A great shame not more customers as amazing view, spacious environment and very friendly and efficient staff, best fish batter ever had (thin and crispy).
The batter on the fish was very sickly and a little expensive but good portion sizes
Beautiful food everything was cooked perfectly great service
Great food, boathouse breakfast was super as always, and served hot, not like some other places I could mention. The prices were very reasonable. The service could've been better but generally everything was good.
Excellent value for money really great service and an all round enjoyable lunch. Food was exceptional
Comfortable safe surroundings. Excellent service and food.
Lovely food and excellent service. You have the choice to sit outside or inside depending on the weather.
A light and airy restaurant right on the harbourside. Fresh fish daily, nicely prepared and presented. The scallops were lovely. Good service and Covid-19 compliant. Would definitely visit again.
Had a lovely meal here, covid secure, friendly staff with excellent food. Staff were attentive and helpful, and provided excellent service. Steph looked after us for most of the night, thank you!
Great food. Great staff. Great view. What more could you possibly want?
Great venue, food was ok. I had the seafood linguine as i'ts one of my favourite dishes but it was very wet and not that tasty, sadly. Staff seemed to be very happy in their work. Would probably try it again.
The food was very tasty. We talked about it for days after. There not many people and the atmosphere was a little dull but the staff were great. It’s a bit pricey but the food quality was amazing.
Lovely views , helpful friendly staff . Unfortunately quite a few dishes were unavailable thus limiting choice ,perhaps a busy Sunday.
Lovely food,great service,beautiful location
Visited on 19th sept. Plenty of space between tables, which was perfect social distancing. Nice bright surroundings. Attentive staff, whilst not being in your face. Lovely food. Would definitely recommend, just wished the specials board had more choice.
Good service, not in your face but close enough to take order and deal with any queries. Also a sense of humour, which always helps.
Food very good quality / great value. Party of six with wide range of starters and mains - Everyone happy !
Restaurant was quiet (8.00pm Sunday) but in these times no great surprise
We went for Breakfast and pre-booked although that's not always needed. The food was excellent and on the whoil the service was good also. There was a problem with our order but we were told of the mistake received an apology and a discount off the bill which was all very much appreciated.
The location is lovely and we would certainly go there again, perhaps try lunch or dinner next time
Very helpful staff and good table service. Food was good and value for money. We would certainly go again.
The whole experience was just ok. No atmosphere and the food was "OK" I won't be rushing back in the evening. Ok for a bite to eat during the day.
Excellent food fresh and tasty.
Lovely relaxed chilled experience with delicious food
The Boathouse is a pleasant place on the Barbican with a varied menu.
Great quality fresh fish and chips as always washed down with a couple of cold beers overlooking Mount Batten.
Perfect
Such fantastic food with lovely views. Would highly recommend.
My Tuna Steak Salad consisted of 95% salad and about 5% tuna steak! It was like a whole bag of shop salad used to bulk out the plate and the smallest, thinnest piece of tuna steak I've ever been given at a restaurant. All for £25!! Even allowing for the Chancellor paying £10 towards it I would still say it was poor value for money. The drinks are expensive too. On average they're £5 a pint/500ml which is the dearest I've known in the area. Not a great experience and unless it changes I guess most customers will come once and not return a second time. You only get one chance to make a good first impression!!
Food was excellent, all in all the atmosphere and staff where really great,I would recommend the boathouse to friends and family. I would definitely book again.
Great food, friendly service - would definitely go back again when we are in Plymouth!
