The Boil - Jersey City
Everything was excellent, from the food to the service. We arrived at happy hour, so that was great and all of the staff was just fantastic. Can't wait to go back!
The food is to die for, awesome atmosphere, good music that’s modern. Just keep in mind the gratuity is already added for parties of 4 or more, we accidentally tipped our waitress $100 extra but she was great anyway!
Had my birthday and it was great! Food was good!
Fun experience! Waitress “Q” was great! Spicy Margaritas on point. Crawfish and Snow Crab messy but amazing! Looking forward to going back!
Recommend based on the ambience, service, a cocktail, and food.
If you enjoy shellfish you own yourself a reservation at The Boil in Jersey City.
AMBIENCE: Ambience is terrific, the perfect combination of a good ol' seafood/crab shack and a nicer but not pretentious establishment. Tables are covered with butcher paper. Fun, upbeat but not blasting music in the background. The patio seating is very nicely setup as well and was a welcome seating option.
SERVICE: All staff we met, especially our server and bus boys, were friendly, accommodating, and professional. They made out first visit an absolute pleasure.
COCKTAIL: Their take on the Mojito, the Saint Mojito made with St. Germaine, rum, lime, lychee juice, mints, grenadine, was fantastic. Well-balanced drink that hints at sweet but isn't sugary, just refreshing. Great combination and I recommend.
FOOD: In a wonderfully authentic crab shack presentation, the cajun fries and steamed rice were delivered in paper boats and the the ragin' lemon pepper shrimp (you get to pick how much heat/spice you prefer) delivered in a bag with corn and red potatoes immersed and marinating in their delicious sauce. A bucket for dumping the shells is provided and if you don't want to get your fingers too messy plastic gloves are provided as well. The fries and shrimp each had their own nice spicy bite to them. We chose medium on the shrimp. Overall, the food was delicious.
We love to go there on date night we feel comfortable and safe. During the pandemic
Amazing place. What a discovery! Would recommend to everyone that loves seafood as much as I do!
This was out first dine-in at this location. It was a pleasant experience. The host was lovely. Our server was great. We had oysters for app, and they were fresh. I had the lobster with garlic-butter sauce spicy, and my husband had the snow crab with garlic-butter sauce fire. He said it was indeed fire! Their menu is family friendly, my son always has their mac n cheese and it was delicious lst night! They offer a good selection of beer and cocktails. Parking was a bit tricky, but we were able to find street parking nearby.
Definitely eat at the boil. The staff is super helpful with choosing an item and is attentive. Very clean and I felt safe eating there. Everything is explained before hand about covid regulations.
Amazinggggggggg experience! Fast seating, great service and over all the best flavor seafood boil.
Awesome!! Excellent service by staff. Fast and efficient. The food was delicious with fresh seafood. LOVED the snow crabs in spicy butter garlic sauce. The spice was perfect for me but not for everyone, my friends couldn’t handle it but loved the flavor. They do have other options for milder spice levels. The meat in the snow crabs was plenty and tasty. Fried calamari and fried squid....omg soooooo good. I have to say it was the best I’ve tasted thus far, but you have to have it there while hot. Garlic bread also good. Craw fish...enjoyed it, but not much meat. Priced a bit on the higher end, but worth it. I’m definitely planning another dinner soon, like next week. 🤪 Parkings are a pain but then again Jersey City’s known for parking problems even for those who reside there, unfortunately. They had a hour and a half timeframe to eat and leave which I hated, you feel rushed. It’s especially difficult when friends are trying to catch up, attempting to enjoy drinks over conversation, along with the effort to dig out meats. Drinks could have been stronger.
The Queen combo is amazing and the sauce used is really good. The prices are decent and the atmosphere is good . Drinks and the music was on point!
A bit more expensive then
Loved my dining experience here! The food was great, my waiter was on point and the playlist was on point. My new favorite place in jersey city, for sure!
We love the boil in Manhattan and are so happy they've finally come to Jersey City! Great food and dining space COVID precautions were also well heeded.
Food was good! Expected more lobster on my lobster roll, but overall food was great! Service was amazing- our waitress definitely get 5 stars - wish I remember her name to give her a shout out!
We will return
It's always our favorite meal, can't wait to go back!
Amazing food, wonderful service, incredibly COVID compliant. A wonderful night out.
Best meal I have had in AWHILE. The food was so fresh, so flavorful and so enjoyably messy
Food is always consistently good! Just watch out for that -itis
Amazing, I will be back.
the food was amazing. i had leftovers so i enjoyed it for two days straight. so good. highly recommend
Great staff. Drinks were priced right. Food was delicious. Manager was EXCELLENT! Great place to eat sea food!
The Shrimp and Crablegs Boil was Amazing! You get your money's worth!
Beautifully executed!!!! The place was amazing, comfortable, clean, and vibrant. I would definitely dine here again. In fact, the boil has just become the top of my list for dining favorites. Im so impressed. The staff, food, and atmosphere was beyond perfect. GREAT JOB!!
Excellent can’t wait to go back
If the pricing was a bit more reasonable, I might have given a higher score for the "fun"experience of eating out of flimsy paper plates with plastic utensils. Food was
OK, ordered 2 appetizers, split one main course of lobster with shrimp, no dessert and 2 drinks and bill came out to $150 before tip. BTW lobster and shrimp were served in a plastic bag and you had to wear gloves to eat the food out of the plastic bag. Final straw was, it was raining outside and we were told we couldn't wait in the entry vestibule for our car to pick us up. Won't be returning any time soon
Not your typical seafood boil, everything served separately with different sauces.
Dinner taste great however service was slightly lacking. The service is usually much better.
This was my second time at The Boil and the first time was just a few days earlier... it was THAT good I needed to go back ASAP. If you like gnawing on delicious, garlic-buttery shellfish, this is the place for you! Be prepared...things get MESSY
Everybody enjoy it
Great food . Service was quick! Phenomenal staff.
Been looking for a place that is true to their level in regards to spice! The fire house special sauce was actually spicy, had a great kick and made our eyes water in a great way. Lovely place and staff
The service was excellent. Great food and drinks. And a beautiful area. Thank you for the wonderful time.
Fun spot in JC. Gotta like or want to try breaking into fresh lobster and other shell fish but they give you gloves and a bib so it's a fun clean time. We will absolutely be back. Great service, delicious seafood, and fun enviornment.
The Boil was great! The recipes are the same just like in NYC. I would go back for sure!
The food was great and the ambiance was amazing. Had great time and did not feel like we were in a pandemic.
Food was amazing as always and service was great!
The food was so delicious and I will definitely be returning.
Great lively atmosphere. They are very precautious during covid-19 and have booths set up with barriers so you can be isolated with your group.
Food was great ordered the king crab and snow crab legs the boil sauce medium and wasn’t spicy so if you’re looking for some hot spice order a level up.
Crab cake was delicious and very meaty vs with bread filling.
