Sunday: 12:00 - 17:30
We had a nice Sunday lunch at the Boot, the food was good but not outstanding, service good and I had a particularly good glass of wine. Nice relaxed atmosphere and welcoming staff.
It was a very good Sunday lunch, good choice of vegetables with the meat. Being Sunday, it was very busy with 2 large parties, and the restaurant was very full. Nevertheless, the service, although a little slow, (another waiter might have helped) was quite acceptable, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Very nicely decorated internally.
Great food and ambiance. Very busy which is a sign of a good restaurant
Fantastic atmosphere and wonderful food. The staff were really attentive and the menu choices excellent .
Would certainly recommend to anyone, beautifully presented food and great wine list.
Lovely sunday lunch, food was hot and very tasty. Also really good portion sizes too. Only down size it that the tables are quite close together so you can hear others conversations.
Definitely need to book on a Sunday as it was packed.
All good as usual. Thank you.
I have eaten at this restaurant at least half-a-dozen times, evening and lunch. This time it was Sunday lunch and the setvice was poor, not the staff particularly, though they did not notice that we had been waiting 45 minutes to be served our meal. One of the vegetables was listed as red cabbage but we were served green cabbage, without any apology.
Great find for Sunday lunch near high Wycombe , may need to park on road as carpark was full when we went.
My wife and I treated our granddaughter and boyfriend to Sunday lunch and everyone said how much they enjoyed the choice of food they had chosen. Very relaxed lunch with very friendly staff . GREAT!
Good Sunday roast and friendly service
Excellent Sunday Lunch.
After 12 visits in the last year I cannot commend them enough for
Excellent food- Excellent service- Excellent atmosphere.
Lovely food and great service. Definitely recommend!
Warm and inviting atmosphere, great food served quickly and hot. Extensive and interesting menu including good everyday classics. Have visited 3 times now and never disappointed. Will visit again and have already recommended. Thank you!
We dined there on Saturday 30th Jan for a family birthday celebration and we’re very disappointed. The service was shockingly slow. We sat with dirty plates in our table for too long after finishing our meal. Don’t waste your time with the starter of white bait - half the fish hadn’t even seen the batter and there was a quarter of the sauce that was actually needed for the quantity of (not very nice) white bait. We had to ask for more sauce. The overall food was very average - we could have cooked a more enjoyable meal at home! Will not return
Lovely place to eat with good food and pleasant staff and surroundings. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
Fantastic food and the atmosphere was excellent. Lovely decorations to keep you in the festive spirit. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Very easy to find as it was well lit in the dark . Excellent food and service . There was a large Xmas party next to us but they were very polite and just having a lovely time . The staff made sure they took our order early So we would not be delayed by the large group . We will be back in the new year .
Good service by pleasant staff. Food was excellent. Would go again and recommend
Four of us dined in the pre-Christmas period. They were very flexible and two of us dined from the Christmas menu and two dined off the A La Carte menu. The place was booked out with a large Christmas party of about 18 persons off to one side. Despite this the kitchen coped very well and service was mostly attentive. Highlights from the starters were the brie and cranberry arancini risotto balls and the crispy duck salad. The lamb rump and crispy haggis , trout and vegetarian moussaka mains courses were all well received. The wilted spinach was somewhat overdone (hence no fifth star) but tempered by the mint sauce. The four desserts (sticky toffee pud, rhubarb and apple crumble, lemon tart and cheese board) were all excellent though for some reason the full range of desserts from the Christmas menu were not available.
The menu here is so extensive and interesting that it calls for multiple visits. I can see us returning on more that one occasion.
The pub is on a ridge and is quite exposed. There was a howling wind blowing so wrap up well in winter in case the car park is full and you have to park on the main road.
Best pub in the area the food is always amazing and the service was fantastic. The atmosphere is cosy and comfortable for any occasion
We came for lunch with 2 friends and our dogs and we were made to feel very welcome. We know that not everyone like dogs in a pub and we were seated out of the way where the dogs could lie down & we could enjoy our lunch. We all had a roast and the food was exceptional with plenty of veg and a huge Yorkshire pud. Very relaxing enjoyable Sunday lunch, we’ll be back.
Good food but took an age for us to be served. Then they tried to charge us for an extra main course that we didn’t have. Disappointing dining experience overall.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Good chose of foods. It was presented very well, it was served on warm plates and was delicious.
Ambiance of the restaurant is very welcoming. I would recommend very one to try it for themselves.
According to the menu, everything is cooked fresh. The food here is really superb for the price, but took a long time coming (half an hour). Would have done well to put some bread and butter on the table or something similar whilst we were waiting. Really good Mac and Cheese (generous with the cheese and a bit crispy on top!) Had to ask for water. Décor and paintings all a bit average. Will def go back for the food, but they could do with a minor make over as the place doesn't seem to know if it is a pub, restaurant or wine bar so sort of ends up as none of them (please get rid of those paintings of high heals!). I think if they went more down the cosy country pub route this place would do really well as the food was very good.
Nice pub for Sunday roast ! Nice ambience and food
Best restaurant I've eaten at for a while. Very impressed with the food and wine. I hope I will return for a visit very soon.
Excellent restaurant and good value for money - would recommend
Excellant meal - Very nice . Good beer and quality wine. We will be back
We all had an excellent meal here.
The menu was varied and we all enjoyed well cooked and nicely presented food, served with a smile.
We will certainly return.
Could not praise it more highly for the amazingly diverse menu and perfectly prepared and presented fare.
The Boot is unusual in being owned by a syndicate of local villagers, and one of them is a friend so we often go there and it’s consistently very good. All three of us had the pheasant on the 1st November and it was so tasty - and also really generous portions - another success! The Old Mout Cyder was good too - West Country scrumpy style:)
Overall food very good and nice setting. Just a shame the service was poor. It was busy when we arrived at that was fine but as restaurant cleared I expected better service but unfortunately that did not happen. They did not even bother to offer deserts and had to chase even to pay. Shame really as it could have been so much better.
Great food, service was ok but restaurant particularly busy. Really nice food, would definitely go again - lots of interesting things on the menu!
Great venue, outstanding service from our waitress Maisie, good atmosphere, delicious food, have been before and will definitely go again and recommend to others.
The boot was very busy and I understand why. suggest you book if possible.
First visit and impressed. Food was generally excellent -one gripe -crayfish salad starter appeared to be frozen prawns. Trout, bubble and squeak, Thai curry and raspberry sorbet were particularly good.Very pleasant pub atmosphere and friendly service. Will definitely visit again
Food from the main menu was good. I had the three little pigs which was delicious. My daughter had the mini boot burger from the children's menu which was slightly disappointing. A toasted bun which was cold and a beef patty which was rather well done to say the least and very dry! No ketchup, no cheese just beef and bread.
Also, we were the first diners to be seated and served on this particular evening and the food took over half an hour to come to the table. Previously we come to the boot for lunch during a weekday and again were the only diners. Again, there was a long wait for the food, which took 45 minutes to appear.
The setting and atmosphere of this pub is lovely. If they could speed up the food service whilst maintaining quality on the plate it would certainly be a 10/10 !!
Underwhelming service and food standard mediocre. Shame as we have had some decent food in the past. Probably won’t hurry back. Having said that the place was very busy so maybe the kitchen could not cope.
Lovely night out with friends. Food fantastic. Staff very friendly.
Went on recommendation, and we were not disappointed. The food was good, service was prompt and friendly and the ambience is also good. We have recommended this to others.
