The Bosham Inn
Whether you are planning dinner with friends or Sunday lunch with family, book a table online and enjoy some quality time with those you love the most.
Bosham Inn is a beautiful listed building which sits at the head of the picturesque Chichester harbour. A former vicarage for the parish, it has been painstakingly restored having previously been reincarnated as a hotel and a Victorian dining house. The Inn is marked on a map of 1875 as Hamstead House where it is shown opposite a disused malthouse.
Overlooking Chichester harbour, our beautiful listed pub is near Bosham and the picturesque village of Chidham
Lovely pub and food but portion size was very disappointing for the cost! A few of us had the skewers and they were all warm rather than hot
Good food, well presented. Served in good time by very pleasant waitress. Nice table by the window made it a very enjoyable visit.
Superb service from start to finish table not ready at time stated but staff kept us informed at all times our waitress Laura was absolutely brillisnt
Having eaten here several times before, we decided to go for dinner with friends Friday evening. Sadly we didn't have a good time. We were shown a table, then waited half an hour before anyone came to take a drink or food order, no reason given for delay or an apology. Sadly my steak pie contained no meat, which was a disappointment. Our waiter half heartedly told us he would inform the chef, unsure if he did or not. We ordered dessert which took forever to appear, I then had to ask for my coffee as it had been forgotten. It has always been a nice place to visit for dinner or just drinks with friends, however our recent experience has now put us off.
Four of us visited here for Sunday lunch before two of us travelled home to South Wales. Our friends who live nearby in Horndean had not been previously but will certainly make it a regular visit in the future. The food was local sourced freshly made and was cooked to perfection. I had the Lamb Shank and have never tasted better. Complements to the Chef. I will definitely visit again whenever in the area.
Five of us dined there for Sunday lunch. We all enjoyed our meals and though the portions were very generous, we cleared our plates.
Good food and service BUT didn't appreciate being told by who I presume was the manager that we could only have the table for 2 hours as it was booked by somebody else!
The table was perfect as we had asked for space for a pram and we had plenty of room. Disappointingly some elements of the menu were unavailable- which seemed strange for a Saturday night. The food we did order was beautifully cooked and presented. The service let our experience down. We had to ask for the bill twice, then ask to pay several times until we got a little assertive sadly. Our waitress was busy filling pots with mayo and ketchup and chatting to her colleague to come and take our money. Sad finish to a pleasant evening
Friendly greeting on arrival and aware of booking. Drinks order taken promptly and arrived quickly. Food ordered and arrived in a timely manner. Fish and chips were super - so hot and obviously straight out of the fryer. Mushy peas could have been a bit hotter. Good portions and partner's meal equally good. Nice atmosphere especially as it was sunny. Been here before and will definitely visit again. Service also good. Thank you.
We had a great time. Would highly recommend to friends. Friendly and even though it was New Year we wasn't pushed out for the evening people. Couldn't do enough for us
We had to wait 90 minutes for our first course. After that the waiter seemed to be going out of his way to avoid us. Not just us, the tables nearby suffered the same fate. Shame, been coming here for years & this is the worst it's ever been.
Booked up late by email and were warmly welcomed and during our stay we were well looked after and the food was really nice
staff couldn’t care less about service - roast dinner was good, although food over cooked. Dessert was horrible, may have been an off day as always heard good things but really wish we hadn’t gone.
A comfortable family pub/restaurant. You know you will get good quality food and generous potions. Nice interior decor. Friendly waiting staff.
The staff are always welcoming and helpful and the food is great. There is a varied and interesting menu and the food is really well cooked with quality ingredients.
Almost an hour to get food from order.
We were made to feel welcome & taken to our table. We weren't rushed into choosing our food but we didn't have to wait long either. Although the place was busy we were made to feel just as important as the next table & treated with the utmost respect by our young friendly waiter. We will definitely come back 😊
Very nice food, nice staff, been there many times and never have had a bad meal
The staff were very friendly the pub was very relaxing the food was good and came out hot are table was ready when we arrived and if we were in the area again we would definitely visit again, the choice on the menu was good
Really excellent food and lovely friendly staff. We'll be back.
A good experience overall, but disappointed that some things on the menu were not available. Perhaps don't visit on a Monday as the weeks new stock has not been delivered!!
Very friendly and informative staff. Choice was wide, and food was presented lovely, drinks nice and cold too, very happy and will certainly be a returning customer.
Great location, friendly staff and amazing food. My partner and I had the Wagyu beef burger and lamb shank and both I can highly recommend.
The food was delicious and the customer service from Joe was lovely. It was a beauty environment to have a lovely meal between me and my partner. Would definitely visit again!
Went for valentine's evening. Food not as good as it has been before. Shareing platter not really very imaginative, have had a lot better meals at the Bisham Inn. Steak not that brilliant, onion rings very thin and not many. Didn't get peas or mushrooms with it, which I think most restaurants offer with a steak. Didn't have a sweet as again not very imaginative. Hope it improves as we really have enjoyed it before.
Excellent meal, very nice surroundings, very nice well kept pint and the prices were very reasonable. I can't think why I haven't been there for so long
Although our meal was well cooked fresh food, pleasantly presented, we were disappointed that on a Saturday evening there was a limited menu with several items not available. The waiter waited until we had spent quite awhile choosing our meals, only to be told they had run out. This is not acceptable.
Very friendly atmosphere. Warm enough, comfortable, tables nicely spaced apart. Staff very attentive, although it wasn't very busy while we were there, so I cannot say whether it would be the same had we chosen a different time.
Food good. But No bake beans for the kids! (Not for kids)
Waiter was fantastic food was nice but not fantastic, lamb an beef very chewy on our Sunday roast, desserts very good an great values for money, just expected a little more than microwaved food as it was much better a few years back
