Venue is nice and is great for drinks but wouldn’t go back for food.
Service was appalling, waited an hour and half for main course. Plus several drinks orders never appeared and had to be requested a few times. Chronically understaffed, would not recommend.
Food and atmosphere was lovely but service was extremely slow. We had to ask for our bottle of wine four times and it only arrived with our mains - not with our starters. Quite a long wait between courses - we sat down at 8pm and didn’t have dessert until 11pm! After we had the bill no one came near us to take payment so we had to pay on the way out.
Food was lovely! Service was fantastic they were quite good at keeping us up to date with our order status as it took a bit longer than expected. It was a bit weird that half of our party got their mains and had finished them by the time the other half got theirs. It probably would have helped if we had pre-ordered food as we were a large party.
One hour waiting time from Starter to Main. We had to remind one of the waiters that we were still waiting for the food and it seems that they had forgotten, since the next table, which had arrived later, was already eating. We don't even get a discount for bad service, which is what is usually done elsewhere if this happens. Even having spent over £ 100 on our dinner.
3 steaks not cooked as ordered. Very disappointing as it meant that effectively we paid £34 each for chips, onion rings & pepper sauce as steak was inedible. We complained and a very nice manager offered to take food off the menu. He also offered us a drink, which we declined as my husband was driving. However when the bill arrived we were surprised to see that only one of the meals had been deducted. To be fair, I had asked for a doggy box as I was going to cook the steak when I got home, but as the entire dining experience had been so awful, the dog was the recipient of the leftovers. This was my husband's 66th birthday. He chose the Bowery as he believed it would be a dining experience to remember. We will remember it, but not for the right reasons.
Of note, the staff were lovely. We would / could not fault their service.
A great night, food was lovely. Very noisy though, difficult to hear friends across table.
The arrival of the robin was definitely different, however some of the tactics to catch it left a lot to be desired. The service seemed to drop a little, the staffs mind were possible focused on the bird as I had to ask for more drinks, see where my dessert was and then ask for cutlery to eat said dessert. Food was lovely, as it’s our local we’ll be back no doubt.
Had a lovely meal food was excellent
Device was very friendly and efficient
Enjoyed the experience
Service seemed slow service. Drinks came after food which could be as understaffed. Still a lovely meal
Amazing food, you won’t be disappointed. Staff very friendly
Not worth a visit our dinner was awful waited an hour for it to come out only to be cold then received anothet one ten minutes later obviously the same one reheated nearly impossible to get anyone's attention Do not reccomemd it
Just 3 ladies on a night out for food and drinks .
Lovely food .
Cool decor .
Good waitress service in bar .
Girlie catch up which was perfect! All staff and managers couldn’t have been nicer!
Good/decor/service good. Music far too loud despite requests to lower volume.
Had seafood pie which was tasty but not very warm. Service was slow initially but improved over time. Did not appreciate service charge for a table of 5. Tipping should be voluntary and based on quality of service.
Far too crammed in in the back section. Did not feel covid secure as in confined area with another 2 people we did not know.
Also it was my friends birthday. I had written this in the notes section of the booking but it was not acknowledged and there was no effort made to add any special touches. Poor overall
Went for Sunday lunch.
Great food, relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff
Moved from bar to terrace as time was up, hadn’t ordered food. Asked to order food on terrace, told we couldn’t order. 45 minutes later tables beside us were able to order, felt like waiter couldn’t be bothered serving us
Got there for 8oclock booking , seated us down the back ,got our wine and starters around 8,15 .had to get the manger at 9.45 to ask wtf my mane course
Had to wave to get they waitresses to make eye contact ,badly trained .don't go down the back they put you down there and forget about you ,2out of 10
Great Friday evening atmosphere. Lovely food and good drinks
Gorgeous meal. Elegant but cosy vibe. Fab service and food to die for.
The food was excellent and the service staff friendly but the time between courses was very long. So if you have loads of time no problem. Overall the surroundings and ambience are very good so the experience was enjoyable but longer than we expected.
Called to book a table and was told that there were none available. Went to opentable to search for an alternative and saw that there were plenty of available slots at the Bowery for our desired time. On arrival we were sat at an uncleaned table even though there were other tables that were preset and available all evening. Once we were ordered the food was good except for a cold chip in the middle of the squid starter. Lovely bar but very disappointed on this occasion
Our waiter Matthew was excellent and the food was very good.
First time trying here with my girlfriend and it was fantastic. Food was excellent and service was top notch.
Will be returning for sure.
Delicious food and drinks and lovely staff and atmosphere.
We only had drinks but cocktails were delicious. Staff very attentive and friendly. Saw the food going past the table and it looked good
Table for two for Saturday lunch. Friendly helpful staff and enjoyable surroundings. Overall the food was very good, only disappointment was slightly stodgy batter on the fish that my wife ordered, but everything else was great and we enjoyed our meal. Would visit again.
I & my friend had a lovely time. The table settings were very nice & the seats comfortable. The food was just perfect & the staff helpful & professional. Thank you.
Lovely evening. Great food and great service oils not ask for more
Lovely evening, great circular table for 5, cocktails were delicious, one meal was undercooked but swiftly sorted.
Pleasant, helpful staff.
Lovely vibe. Booked a table for a Birthday and requested outdoor seating as advised when I phoned. Occasion was not acknowledged nor was the outdoor seating request. Seated outside after mentioning request. Quick service to start with. Unpleasant experience when the fire alarm started to go off, no staff acknowledged the fire alarm to any customer. No reassurance that there was no actual fire, in fact we were just left sitting for half an hour with no waiting staff attending to anyone. Excellent food but disappointed with the experience and how it was managed
Excellent food and service. The fire alarm went off for a very long time. We got a round of complimentary drinks for this. Ian was very helpful and friendly.
A lovely place for a night out. Food was overpriced and cold. Orders did not come out as requested. The alarm went off and was 40 minutes later until it was turned off! No one knew how to sort it. Waiting staff were good at this point. Might give it another try!!
We had a nice time at The Bowery, menu has been nicer in the past but service still good and wouldn’t put me off going back!
Both the food (pork belly and turbot) and service were outstanding. Pity that we and others had to constantly close the front door that jammed open. Our second time here and we will return
Waitresses were lovely. Great spot.
Went with my sister and was joined by my daughter son in law and two grandchildren firstly our starters came then we had to wait an hour for our mains to come my daughters meal came out first and five minutes later it was taken away as the rest of our food wasn’t ready my grandchildren at this stage were ravenous ten minutes later the meals came out my grandson who’s 9 roast beef was practically raw and had to go back along with mine and my sisters who were the same we were never asked what way we wanted it cooked. Three of the party received free desserts as the rest were included in the deal. We weren’t looking for a free dessert just a nice family Sunday meal out. We have been a few times since the re opening but don’t think we will be back
Hey Loretta I am so sorry that you had this experience with us. I will ensure that I pass this on to our kitchen so that it does not happen again. The Bowery team !
We were greeted straight away and had a drink outside first. Waiter was very obliging and pleasant. Good atmosphere and the fish and chips were great. Waitress was attentive and pleasant. Easy to book.
Hey Grania Thank you so much for you're amazing feedback, I will make sure to let all the staff know! The bowery management!
