Our first visit and will definitely be coming back again. Fantastic food and drink and great service. Beautiful location by the river.
Standout service and good food. The restaurant is in an old water mill which gives it a very pleasant ambiance.
Brilliant location (especially if you're staying in the campsite next door), and very tasty food. Overpriced for what it is, but undeniably good.
Always a pleasure to dine here when I am in Huntingdon. I had the chicken and it was devine. I love all the deserts.
Really close to a fine dining experience but in a traditional pub setting. Would definitely recommend
A welcome return after the recent refurbishment. It’s such a wonderful building beside the river Ouse, decor is nice and comfortable and the food was delicious. I had the spit roasted chicken with aioli and fries, which was amazing. Thank you. We’ll be back!
Unfortunately the restaurant had no record of the booking through Open Table but found us a table when I was able to show booking on my phone. Having said that the food was excellent and the service outstanding.
Our party was two couples each of whom drove 1.5 hours to get there from different directions; we had been before and knew it would be worth the drive. One person had an intolerance to cream and the waitress (once she was aware of this) went the extra mile to discuss this with the chef and to recommend various options. Service was excellent and the food was good. The timing (both ordering and delivery of courses) was good too - no pressure, no rush, but not kept waiting either. Scenic venue by the waters side.
Booked online but noticed that the Open Table booking service spelt the name of the place wrong - the place is the Brampton Mill and they had missed the "p" out of the middle. Nevertheless the Open Table booking was easy to use and the Brampton Mill were expecting us, and reasonable reminders and confirmations were sent out.
We arrived on time for a confirmed OpenTable booking, only for the guy who met us to say that we did not have a booking, with the implication that we had not actually made a booking. When I showed him the acknowledgment from OpenTable and pressed further it appeared that the reason for this is that they had not received the booking email from OpenTable for some reason, something he said had happened previously and the restaurant is "looking into the matter".
Not very reassuring and I was rather put off by the offhand and slightly "victim-blaming" nature of this exchange. I hope that this will not be my experience again if I book through OpenTable!
Anyway, to give him his credit he did find us a table and the rest of the meal progressed in the normal way with excellent food in a lovely ambience with friendly service. Might be better to book direct rather than use OpenTable until they have sorted out their problems, though.
Never disappoints. Baked Camembert is always my favorite starter.
We have visited Brampton Mill quite often and have never been disappointed. The food is very well-prepared from an excellent interesting menu with some really delicious choices on it. Service is always good and we are particularly impressed by the very friendly restaurant manager who always recognises us and amazingly remembers what we had last time we were there, even though it. I guy have been a few months before. The building has a lot of character and it is a very pleasant place to have a meal. Altogether an excellently run and very enjoyable place to have a great interesting meal.
Overall good food and good service. Lounge and eating area a bit shabby and toilets not very clean.
Didn’t have any de caff coffee available.
Good meeting place not far from the A1.
We love the Brampton Mill - excellent imaginative food, always well prepared, very friendly service if they aren't too rushed, and a lovely old mill feel to it. The only minor negative is the badly rutted road on the way in (which really should be sorted out).
It’s a great venue in a very pretty spot
this was our second visit, we meet centrally with some friends and this has turned out to be a very nice location for us.
as on the previous visit food was delicious and plenty of it. wine a tad on the pricier side but nonetheless was delicious also.
we will be back
Met my step brother for a catch up over lunch and had a lovely meal. Service was friendly, professional, and well timed. Food was very tasty. I went for the healthy options which gave nutritional information and were delicious, my step brother went for the more indulgent choices which were also very tasty. Restaurant was light and airy and at a comfortable temperature. Overall, a very pleasant experience.
The food is of high quality- menu is varied and the restaurant and bar areas are very comfortable with some great views of the river
This has a lovely atmosphere. We disovered it by chance many years ago. It is a little gem for taking guests for a meal. Not overly expensive. Our granddaughter loved it. Very child friendly.
Great food and location, A hidden gem.... We will be back!
Very good standard of food and service. Very enjoyable evening
It was very nice. Service was a little slow
First time...definitely not the last. A beautiful meal.
Frazer and his team run a brilliant restaurant. This is our third visit and we have always had excellent food and superb customer service. Everyone always has time for you and are helpful, courteous and offers service with a smile and a sense of humour.
My husband always goes for fish and I always plump for the wagyu burger - creatures of habit I'm afraid - but the menu has many other options which look interesting and good value. Long may they continue their success as it is always busy and buzzing. Our favourite Huntingdon restaurant.
really lovely evening.. service was good ,attentive but not over bearing. food was really good.
Have been for both Sunday lunch and dinners. Quute frankly food lets it down every time. Great shame as fabulous location and staff are good. The chef is definitely letting it down.
Very cosy place, great for dinner and drinks rather than lunch. Was not impressed by the lunch we were served, but it was tasty, but nothing over the top.I will go back and try dinner on the top floor , in their amazing dining hall and I think that will be a bigger experience than lunch.
Very cosy place, nice bar and faboulosly decorated, so I'll definitely go back!
