The Brass Rail Hoboken NJ
disastrous food. decent ambiance and helpful staff
Great food and service
Loved all the food & the staff was very good. Would definitely recommend it to others & go again.
Brunch menu was great!
If you dine upstairs, the noise level is much ore pleasant as you are able to talk to each other. Downstairs the noise level is very loud.
The food is delicious with a good variety to choose from. Presentation is beautiful and the service is good. I like the look and vibe and have always enjoyed the experience dining here.
Thanks for your feedback! Hope you join us again soon!
Great service and meal choices at Brass Rail. The recently renovated upstairs is warm and inviting. This place never disappoints and we enjoy coming here every time.
Thanks for the awesome feedback! Hope we see you soon!
Great Thanksgiving with a good choice of gluten-free food
Thanks for choosing us to celebrate Thanksgiving! Glad you enjoyed yourself and we hope to see you soon!
I am sure that being a holiday, the staff was being overworked. Our waitress was inattentive at best. The food was so-so and the noise level was extremely lively. The main level seemed like it was a friendly pub atmosphere. I would recommend it as a pub, not as a restaurant for a holiday or special occasion.
Thanks for the feedback but everyone who worked Thanksgiving chose to do so! Sorry to hear your dissatisfaction...
The French onion soup was good but the peppercorn short rib sandwich was disappointing. It looked and tasted like a pull pork sloppy sandwich you can get at a cafeteria.
Thanks for your feedback and sorry to hear that you weren't a fan of our Short Rib Sandwich. We would have loved to have offered you something more to your liking! Please let us know when you visit again so we could make it up to you!
Great experience all around & fun night! Cocktails at the bar before dinner, excellent meal + dessert and wine! Stellar service!
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you had a great time with us! We hope to see you soon!
Good food & service - only con was Friday evening it was a big loud at the bar. Just sit in the upstairs dining area.
Thanks for the feedback! We look forward to your next visit =)
We went for brunch, and for it not being bottomless, it's a great value! The food and fantastic and I was very full at the end, I will definitely go back! The staff was very accommodating since it was a nightmare to find parking and we were standing by the bar for an extra 40 minutes waiting for the last member of our party to come in. We could have sat and started to eat without him, but, we didn't want to be rude to him. The staff could have easily given our table up, however, they completely understood and was very understanding about the situation! highly recommend!
Always enjoy the ambience there, menu is good, service excellent
Wonderful experience all around! Great food and solid service! Get local feel and on a fun neighborhood
Best brunch spot in Hoboken. Great food, great portions and great value!
Been twice - unimpressed both times. Won’t try again.
Limited menu but food was good. Service was very good and we sat outside on a beautiful night.
We were glad they were able to cater to a bigger group and food came out pretty quickly. Overall a good brunch spot.
Great place for brunch! The service was great. Our waitress was super friendly and gave good suggestions. Pricing was good too. We’ll definitely be back!
Went their to have my bridesmaid proposal, generally you have to wait to be seated but the manager allowed us sometime to get the table set up and sit. The server was great handling my rowdy bunch especially after a few drinks. The food portions are okay I was expecting a little more filling but hey its brunch!
I went for dinner that's part of the restaurant week and am disappointed in the food. I ordered salmon and my friend ordered the steak - both flavorless. The cocktail I had was good. Like others wrote, this restaurant is better for brunch!
Went during restaurant week, the pre fix meal was amazing.
Really nice dinner out with my brother. Ate upstairs as the downstairs is more of a bar. Had the restaurant week meal and both of us were happy with our picks. Will go back!
Amazing food, Great service, and free wifi. Take advantage of there everyday specials!
We had an enjoyable family dinner (6 of us) - they sat us upstairs where it is much quieter. The service was excellent and the food good. Major complaint: my filet mignon, ordered medium rare, was medium well. This is an unforgivable sin to me. Other meals were fine and the place is very child-friendly (my 5 y.o. granddaughter was with us).
Nice Father's Day brunch! Good food. Great service
Food and service were great! We sat on the second level, where it was much quieter and calmer than the bar level. Price was very reasonable, both for the food and the drinks, plus the appetizers were big enough to share.
Great experience and we love the new apps they offer. We had a Korean pancake that was delicious.
The quality of the food wasn't great. They had a good Mother's Day brunch special for $30, but I was disappointed with the quality of the food. Also, not all ingredients were listed on the menu. For example, I don't eat pork, and my egg dish came crumbled with bacon bits on it. Although they brought it back, it was annoying to have to wait for my food when everyone at the table already had theirs. Overall, wouldn't come back.
I took my mom here for Mother's day brunch. For $30 each, you each got one appetizer and one entree with a pastry basket which I thought was well worth the money. We got sat upstairs next to a window which was nice. It was super cozy and the service was great. Our waitress was nice. What a shame it was pouring rain that day! I would have loved to sit outside.
The steak was a little salty and the chicken was dry. It was nice and quiet upstairs. Downstairs was mostly bar crowd and very noisy. The service was timely but the waitress seemed disinterested in what she was doing.
It was out Easter dinner.. Sat outside as it was a beautiful day.
Ordered a coffee with cream only and the runner brought me a coffee with all the different kinds of sweeteners but no cream. After waiting for about 6-7 minutes I was able to get the waitresses attention to inform her I needed cream she returned a short time later with milk because they were out of cream.
It was a prefixed menu , the price and selection was a good choice / value.
Recognizing that we were a larger party than most, we did have a dedicated server assigned to us, which I appreciated, but she was so busy counting drinks/confiscating empty glasses that the majority of our party went without drinks for most of the meal. Food was delicious and came out in a timely manner, but I cannot honestly say that the brunch deal was even worth its value, as most of our party was only able to order/successfully receive 1 or 2 additional brunch drinks, over the 2-3 hours we were there. Management was receptive to our feedback, in real time, and did start checking in towards the end of the meal to make sure everyone was being taken care of, but the fact remains that we had to seek out our server multiple times, to suggest ordering food/drink refills, rather than the other way around. Understanding that the restaurant has drink per person regulations in place, and that we were a large table to keep track of, we definitely understood some of the delays in service, but the server's attitude towards us as a result was quite off-putting - she almost seemed to resent us, and chose to avoid our table rather than communicating with us and embracing the chance to make a sizable tip.
Horrible brunch - our food was cold and tasteless. We sent back my boyfriends appetizer because it was cold and it came back just as cold. I was super excited to try this place but it was awful.
I will never be back.
The brunch menu is awesome. The staff is so friendly. The portions are huge! $2 mimosas? How do you beat that?!
It was very good. I had the scallop special which was amazing! We enjoyed our dining experience overall!
We've been to this mainstay a bunch of times, but not in a while. This trip standouts: the pork chop special - amazing. The mussels appetizer - different and delicious. The octupus as an entree (even though it's in the app section) - perfect. Think we'll put it into regular rotation!
I went here for Valentine's Day. My boyfriend and I sat in the upstairs dining room. They created the perfect setting for Valentine's Day. The food was amazing as well as the service! Can't wait to go back.
