The Brasserie at Eynsham Hall
The food is uncomplicated and unrushed. The menu features seasonal British food, sourced from local farms and suppliers, including pork from nearby Kelsmcott Farm and cheeses and chutneys from local artisan producers.
We look forward to serving you!
superb beet and goat cheese salad! Very good fish extreme. Selection of three sorbets was excellent.
LOVELY QUIRKY DECORATED RESTAURANT. EXCELLENT SERVICE. THEY HAD RUN OUT OF THE DUCK MAIN . THE LOVELY MAITRE D SUGGESTED THE LAMB BUT I HATE QUINOA . HE ASKED THE CHEF TO CREAT THE DISH WITH IT AND IT WAS DELISH. IT IS NOT CHEAP BUT IT IS WELL COOKED AND PRESENTED AND THE HOTEL IS FAB.
Beautiful setting, extremely yummy menu with lots of traditional British choices. The meal took some time to arrive, but we didn't mind as had lots to talk about with friends, however the MaitreD apologised and insisted that our desserts were complementary. This made a real impact on us and we would definitely reccomend dinner here to anyone. The service is second to none and when the food does arrive it is certainly worth the wait!! :)
Very calm, well trained staff, all were very attentive and made you feel welcome. Service was excellent we had one meal that was a little dry but when we asked for sauce it was no trouble, the waitress accepted our comments and fetched a freshly made sauce immediately.
Rude server who raised his voice to me. Kept asking if I have a booking even after I have been seated and details have been taken previously. There was one other table occupied in the restaurant. It was a Wednesday evening, not expecting lots of traffic in the restaurant anyway.
I have eaten a few times in the restaurant before. I made annual trips there for business and always stay in the hotel and at the same time dine there. But not this time. And never again. I do not tolerate bad service.
Food was great and as a non meat eater I had choice eating there two evenings running. Staff were very friendly but also professional. We hope to go back in the future.
Beautiful setting and very calm ambience. The food was fantastic and great value for money. Would highly recommend
I was staying at Eynsham Hall and booked an early table at 7.30, I was surprised and very disappointed that three of the delicious choices on the menu had run out....who runs out of prawn cocktail? The waitress was sweet and apologetic but it would have been good to be advised of the shortfall while being seated or offered a complimentary drink or desert. The food was tasty and well presented
We had a fantastic Brasserie meal twice during our 3 night stay. The choice of menu was really good, and the chef is exceptionally talented. I had the ravioli on the second night, and it was the best I had ever tasted. I was full, but was enjoying it so much did not want to leave any.
The whole experience was excellent, I had the Sea Bass which was delicious and my husband had the Sirloin, we started with the prawn cocktail. All the food was great and the wine was pretty good too.
Service and ambiance was excellent, sea bass and lamb cooked and presented beautifully
Fabulous meal for my Wife’s 60th Birthday! Great service and friendly efficient staff.
Such a shame, lovely hotel but let down by Brasserie. We could not have the crab starter we wanted as sold out, we could not have the steak either as sold out, they had no Malbec wine, so I ordered the gammon, which was you could not eat as it was so tough and fatty. The waiters excuse was that they were fully booked!!!!! 😳 Unacceptable!!!
So when we complained about the gammon they had to refund us because we were the forth people to complain about that dish.
Like I say such a shame because it's a lovely place but just not when they are busy, and especially for the prices they charge. The dishes weren't cheap.
We had the breakfast in the morning and that was perfect. A fab variety and all hot, and all local it was lovely. Shame about the previous encounter.
We had a lovely Business dinner at the restaurant. The server was very friendly and we enjoyed our meals. My friend had some lovely fish and chips and I ate a nicely prepared butternut squash ravioli. I will be back and will bring my clients.
Average food over prixed with appalling service. The staff onntge wholenhad poor command of English which meant there reaponses appearrd kurt onnat least 2 occasssions. With 4 kids to feed, waiting nearly an hour for our food was unacceptable. I cannot stress how bad the experience was and cannot advise people steongly enough to avoid......
Just to let you know on arrival at reception, Eynsham Hall was suffering a power cut.
We were offered a cold sandwich, we decided to try to find a pub restaurant locally.
Five minutes down the road we experienced a warm atmosphere with wonderful food,
no power cut strange.
We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door and were looked after so well throughout that we thought we were royalty - thanks for a superb evening with excellent food and attentive service
One the day I went with what we ordered I would not recommend this at this time
The waiter was great , polite and helpful but the food needs to be looked at, the chicken was deep fried not what I expect from a fresh chicken escalope, the starters pate was good the prawn cocktail was ok nothing special no finess , the main course as I said chicken deep fried not acceptable it was hard very crispy and not good , my steak was as it states a steak cannot go wrong, however at no time was I asked if I wanted sides with the dish so we ended up with a steak , 2 onion rings and chips , no mushrooms , no tomato and no offer of these items or and other side for the meal.
For the price we paid I would say it was not worth the cost, as this was a special birthday meal , I was very disappointed with the meal overall.
Unfortunately I would not recommend having a meal there due to the food presented to us on the day. Working in the food business for a very long time I would have expected clear menu , up selling , great looking presentation and good tasting food but that's not what I got .
I thought I was doing myself a favour booking a place in the restaurant rather than driving to a nearby restaurant. What a mistake that was. Food was dire. Don't make the same mistake, eat elsewhere - anywhere!
Lost opportunity in a potentially lovely restaurant that looks a little like a period Harvester whereas it could be gem given the location. Decor poor, tired and unimaginative. Food not great, poor choice on menu where chosen dish 'ran out', even with half empty restaurant.
We had our wedding anniversary there. Relaxed, private and the food was of a good standard. My standards are high so this is still a compliment.
Good food good service, nice wine sensible pricing . what more do you want.
A quiet surrounding with good quality food and service. Price means a question over value
Great venue, great food and a warm friendly atmosphere
We like the ambience of the hall and grounds (glimpsed through the window).
Great service but felt food was lacking. We both had the burgers, the wife's was so burnt and dry she sent it back. Mine wasn't as bad but still dry. Waiter was very good at apologising and got a new burger for the wife, this wasn't as bad but still dry. Chips were good! The Starter was good and maybe it is just the burgers that need work!
We are local and wanted this to be really good but considering the great setting we left a little disappointed.
We stayed for three nights at Eynsham Hall. The first night was good, the second night was ok and on the third night we didn't get to eat. My husband had a starter which came after 20 mins, which was fine. 1.30 mins later we still had not been given our main courses. As it was 10 pm and we were seated at 8 35 we decided it was too late and went to bed. The menu was the same each night and there were no specials. After two nights we felt we had been round the menu already. Specials would be good. Or a daily change of menu. Service from the waiters was excellent and very friendly, but the kitchen let them down badly.
