Website advertises 2 courses for £16 and 3 courses for £20. Same for Sunday Lunch served between 12.00 & 3.00. At 6.15 we expected the advertised fine dining. We didn't expect to be offered a Sunday Lunch. Had we wanted that, we could have made it at home and it would have been considerably better. Furthermore we didn't expect to pay £12 more for the pleasure of eating the remnants of the Sunday Lunch service, particularly as those diners only paid the set price. As we were such important customers and as it was a special occasion, they decided to give us an A La Carte menu, offering the same food as Lunchtime but at full price. Having examined the Sage Website forensically, I have never come across any mention of an A La Carte menu. We ended up paying just short of £70 for a Sunday Lunch for 2 people, at 6.15 in the evening. This is absolutely preposterous. We specified when booking that this meal was for a Birthday. I didn't see anything to convince me that putting that on the booking form, was anything other than a complete waste of time. We and other diners we duped, conned and robbed in broad daylight. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask. Good job the show made up for an otherwise poor start to the evening. The Manager has since stated that the set menu is available 7 days per week, at all times. Either it is or it isn't. Whichever it turns out to be should be made crystal clear for all to see, rather than misleading clients as is currently the case.

We come here sometimes before a concert. We've always enjoyed the meal - good choice which changes every so often. The service is very polite and efficient, but they don't try to hurry you along as you have the table up to the start of the concert. Nice feeling about the place, set apart from the open area of Sage Gateshead so a little quieter. Tohught the price paid for the meal was very reasonable. Very happy to recommend.

Ok, but not great. Food was better than service. We were not initially aknowledged when we arrived, as the two members of staff at the desk were focusing on sorting out an issue with another customer's bill. Not much of a welcome. Service lacks professionalism. Restaurant lacks atmosphere.

When we go to a show at the sage we always book a table and arrange for half time drinks, the staff are very friendly and attentive and the meal is very enjoyable, would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a place to eat when attending a show at the sage, One of the best kept secrets about the Sage.

It's not that it's 'bad' it's just very underwhelming, feels far to dark in a building that's so gloriously light. The decor is out of date, you feel like you're in a motorway hotel - the staff are attentive enough and the food was actually very tasty, quickly delivered and very good value but, with a lot of strong competition, I wouldn't go back or recommend it to anyone.

Although the waiting staff knew we were attending a show that evening, they weren't able to serve our dessert in time..so we had our dessert at the interval. We had plenty time ...just the service was perhaps "not attentive"
Nice staff..just a little more training required!

Had a meal before show, booked for 5.30pm comfortably finished by 7pm including coffee. Set menu with four options for each course, food good we had a slight issue with one course but that was more a misunderstanding quickly sorted. Good service overall during whole meal. If I was going to a show in the future would definitely consider eating here again.

First time we've eaten here and not sure we will again. Waitresses were very friendly and mainly did their job as well as they could. The problem seems to be in the kitchen. No problem with the food quality - it was good - but we had been there for an hour before our main courses arrived, with no explanation. It seems you have to wait for anything here - we had to ask 3 times for the bill. What is also concerning is that if we had been able to book a table later, as we wanted, we would have missed the start of the concert. This could be a very good restaurant but at the moment it needs someone to organise things.

Having dined in the Brasserie several times before and found it convenient when attending a concert (and living 130 miles away !), this time was disappointing. The service was slow - we waited 20minutes between finishing our starters and being served with our main course - and this was a problem, since, as a wheelchair user (which was obvious to the staff) we needed time to get up to our seats for the performance. Having said that, service standards have gradually declined over recent visits.

My wife's starter was stone cold (and the poached egg on it was hard), her main course was rather dried out (probably waited on the pass too long) and her Bakewell tart was overcooked, chewy and frankly inedible. The service was slow.

Good new menu - enjoyed the haddock risotto particularly. You always have good wines, although they are a bit overpriced. The service was very good until we came to pay the bill - some card terminals were not working and a desperate line of diners formed prior to the start of the Esfahani 7.30 concert. However, your staff coped and we took our seats just in time! We have previously had IT problems connected with payment at your self-service cafe and shop at the Sage - perhaps the system needs an update?

We had enjoyed some good food here a few times before and it is obviously very convenient prior to a gig. On this occasion the Brasserie was busier as there were bands on in both hall's 1 and 2. It was also suggested that it was a new menu. For whatever reason, the service was very poor and it spoiled our enjoyment of what was a good meal.

The waitress was a delight but there seemed to be a bit of confusion in the kitchen as to when to bring the next course up, hence only half way through our starter when mains arrived. That being said, a very nice meal in pleasant surroundings

First time visit to the Brasserie at Sage Gateshead, but it will not be our last.
Great value for money as food was excellent with a good choice on the Menu.
All the Staff were friendly and very professional and we were very well looked after.
We also loved the fact that you can keep the table all evening and order and enjoy your interval drinks back
at your table.

Excellent!

The food choices looked very exciting but the main dishes were very delayed in coming out to us and were not particularly hot. I chose the Bacon Chop and could get my knife through this let alone chew it and the accompanying items on the plate were poor and not helped by the fact it was virtually cold.
The one plus we did enjoy was the fact that we could delay our desert course and coffee until the interval and still have use of the same table and for this reason I would recommend The Brasserie to a friend.

Rather disappointed having eaten here before. Whether this was because the restaurant was virtually empty on a Monday evening - food was ok but nothing special. Service was good and waitress was very pleasant. Lacked atmosphere as it was so empty although nice listening to the pianist.

Service was excellent.

Food was poor. Potatoes had been slow cooked however reheated and burnt. Meat was tender but one slice. Hardly any veg, one carrot, one parsnip. Mash had far too much mustard.

Very expensive for what we got.

The young man who served us was extremely polite and efficient. Good choice of food. Whitebait with spicy mayonnaise was excellent as was the mushroom risotto. Carrot and cumin soup very warming and delicious. We were told we could take our time and sit when we had finished as we had plenty of time before the concert, nice not to feel rushed.
