Really cosy and friendly pub....superb food and drink, with great service
excellent Sunday lunch at a really good price would not hesitate to return if in the area, could not fault in any way.
Make sure you are hungry before you go, you will not be afterwards.
good quality food reasonably priced with great customer service
Arrived on time, waited long time for service. When server arrived after been made to wait was told we had to order quickly/ all at once as the kitchen was closing soon as we were late in ( 45 mins before closes! Paid for drinks and left, server was extremely rude in handling the table and working in the industry myself found the attitide unacceptable, think the staff just wanted a early finish.
Good variety of very nice food, good value. Much recommended!
Booked table for 2pm, had drinks but orders not taken for at least 30 mins, food took ages to arrive. They had large number of drop ins before we arrived. Food was excellent
Perfect, we arrived a bit later but there was no problem. Live music was a nice surprise.
Awesome Sunday lunch. Highly recommended.
Great staff and food. We had to wait a while for food which was ok for the 4 of us but may not have been if we'd been a 2
Super pub offering a nice change if menu than the normal bistro/trad pub fare. Lovely staff, great service and well cooked food. Mega range of ales. First visit but will return if in area.👍
Wonderful food - hasn’t changed in years but when you’ve got a winning formula why bother? This place has a wonderful Sunday roast and comes with lots of sides. The Yorkshire pudding is delicious and everything covered in tons of gravy. Perfect.
Excellent food, friendly service , but too much noise for our taste. But we should have known better , booking a table in a pub on saturday night. So onlusten ourselves too blame. But once again: excellent food for the type of place it is.
Amazing range of food, beautifully cooked and it tasted delicious.
Went here with friends when staying in area. Great food, very friendly helpful staff, nice music playing and extremely good value for money. Well done.
Once again I can't fault this restaurant. The food is so good, it is exceptionally high quality, by far the best in Abingdon for quality of food. The service is great too everything served quickly. I always normally have a pie which are all delicious but this time decided to have steak, which was tender and cooked to perfection. Prices are reasonable too.
The food was really good. We had jalapenos filled with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon which were amazing, the salt and pepper chicken wings were crispy and the house platter of mixed meats was really tasty, especially the smoked grilled sausage. A good selection of beers was available. The dining room is nice in dark wood. They had live music afterwards. Overall recommended.
Good, but incorrect, food served but still good (did not complain). Drinks, including beer, good and well served.
Had 3 year old with us, no problems.
What can we say! We have never had a bad meal in the Tap. There is a little something about the meal that makes it that extra special. Always full of flavour and piping hot.
We honestly wouldn't eat anywhere else...
A fair price for what you get every time.
Service is excellent and ambience is great. All in all a great all-rounder.
An amazing Sunday lunch with live music!! Will definitely be going back. Thank you.
Good old traditional british pub.
Staff was very friendly and polite, alas noteverybody was well informed about the beers they sell!
Just how a pub should be and fantastic food. I had the special which was duck and the sauce was amazing. Will definitely return.
Pleasant staff who made my wife and I very welcome. Taken to our table promptly and given advice with regards to the menu. Reasonable prices very tasty food!
Would visit again
We were made to feel very welcome
Food was lovely very generous portions
Very good Sunday lunch once more. Staff are friendly & welcoming. It is a comfortable environment but most of all it is a thoroughly tasty meal.
Great food and great service. Only voted 4 on ambience as it was quite warm! But otherwise great.
My first visit here for food was at Christmas 2018 and since then I have returned a few times. I must say every time I go the food is consistently good as is the service. I highly recommend it in fact i would go as far to say it is the best pub in Abingdon for food.
Excellent Sunday roast, nice atmosphere, we all enjoyed. I would prefer no music since there is enough noise from people talking!
Great place to eat. The Sunday roast was really nice, but the Roast Lamb was tough and very fatty. The Parsnips could have been roasted.
Great place for a 10-person family lunch! That all I'm writing - do ypu want my review or not?
Great food, service, the band were really good and we liked the place so much we didn't try any other venues
Return visit and never had a bad one. Service and food were excellent as always. Also dog friendly.
A super pub with great food!
Lovely meal at a nice venue. Only problem was at 2pm they only had beef or lamb available, which was disappointing. Would have been nice to be offered alternatives. Meals were good though with plenty of meat.
As usual, excellent Sunday Lunch. We had the Lamb and the Beef. Food is always served hot. Nothing not to like here.
The food was excellent and service very prompt. The value was good too. The staff were very friendly and thoughtful.
Great night. Food and service was great. Reasonably priced.
Live music very good. Good mixture of ages and everyone enjoying themselves.
Excellent quality and value as always. Certainly one of our favorite venues. our fiends were very impressed for their first time at the brewery tap.
My fiancé and I stayed here back in May and it was the best overnight stay in a pub we have had (we've stayed in a few). Being an ale drinker my fiancé was very impressed with the variety of ales and his only disappointment was that there were too many to try during our stay. The live music gave an already great atmosphere a real buzz, and our room was very clean and super spacious. Don't be put off by people saying the breakfast was a let down, there was plenty of choice and with the size of the portions we were served for dinner the night before, we were still too full in the morning for a full English anyway. In fact we stayed for Sunday lunch and put that back a couple of hours. All the food was so tasty and the portions really are as big as people say they are. We will be back!
Food was great as usual, once it arrived. Unfortunately service was a bit slow and they forgot to make one of the roasts gluten free, they also sent us the wrong starters. Just seems a bit slack of late, strings on service need tightening and it’d be back to being great as always!
Food was first class as always, served efficiently, one of the best roasts in Abingdon
