Pub
The Bricklayers Arms is a delightful lakeside public house, comprising three terraced cottages in a charming Kent village. The pub is situated at the end of the picturesque Darent Valley Walk. The sign represents Sir Winston Churchill, an expert bricklayer and whose home was at nearby Chartwell.
We pride ourselves on getting involved with the local community and providing a warm and friendly welcome to our visitors. We serve Harvey's Best Bitter straight from the barrel, a fantastic range of wine and beautifully home cooked British pub food. Located opposite the Chipstead Sailing Lake, we are perfectly positioned for a warm bowl of soup after a walk, a summer cider on the green, or a comforting meal in front of our real, open log fire.

It is always lovely sitting outside in the garden across the street from the Bricklayers Arms. The service at the bar was friendly and efficient and our meals were delicious. The four of us had Fish & Chips, Salade Nicoise (the fresh tuna was perfectly cooked), Roast Chicken Dinner and a Burger. It was a very enjoyable experience!

Really fantastic place! They’ve done a brilliant job of making it Covid safe - tables well spaced outside, cleaned down after every use, all staff wearing visors and good use of space inside to keep ordering safe - but they haven’t lost the lovely ambience of the place or the good service. Food was good, solid pub grub - loved it.

Always lovely to visit the Bricks which we treat as our local even though we live in Brasted!
Very hot that day but sitting on the green opposite the lake was great!
Staff lovely, as usual.

Overall great to see the Bricklayers 'surviving".Great to have the green to sit on.
I was disappointed that I had to go into the pub to order our food and drinks. I think they could sort a way to do table ordering to avoid that line of contact.
My other quibble is that I asked specifically asked for a small desert of Belgian waffle and small ice cream and sauce but it came loaded with ice cream and a jug of chocolate sauce so clearly my request was not followed. In these times of trying to control child obesity (and adults) this was not helpful.

The Bricklayers have responded to the currant situation by placing many tables on the green opposite the pub, which is a lovely place to sit, eat & drink. The food as always was well cooked & presented & delivered in a timely manner. Staff friendly & willing to help

I was looking forward to this meal. Unfortunately I was put off before the food was served. There was a lot of flys in the bar area. If I had been eating in the bar area I would have cancelled my meal and requested a refund

We'd booked a table outside, but it was raining heavily. I received a phone call to say they could move us indoors, which was great. Food is lovely as are the staff. Highly recommend.

We booked a table inside 5pm last Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We had the pate and smoked salmon for starters Followed by fish n chips with a couple of pints and a bottle of white for good measure! The food was excellent, the staff were welcoming and friendly and we both had a great night!

Went to the Bricklayers Arms on Friday for my birthday. It was the first time in a long time that my family had eaten out together. We were looking for a pub in Kent where we could sit outside and decided on the Bricklayers.
Really enjoyed our food here and the service was excellent, we had a lovely meal. Looking forward to coming back again.

We've been here twice now, once just before Covid and once after. It's a lovely country/village pub with wonderfully friendly staff who make you feel most welcome.
Food is very good; we had the fish and chips on both occasions, cooked to perfection. Lovely crispy batter and chips done properly. Since Covid the management has done all they can to make the place feel safe and welcoming despite the difficulties posed. Outside area on the green also great if you like eating el fresco. Well done Bricklayers Arms.

I booled this table based on the reviews of previous diners. I was amazed how good a pub meal could be. The food was very fresh and made tl order. The service was excellent and our waitress was very attentive. I am planning my next visit as this is was such a wonderful experience in a difficult climate. I also felt totally safe with my family so thank you again.
