"The Bull Steak Expert,an experience to remember"
I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant. The service was excellent, the food delicious and the wine was great.
Great food. Average decor and ambiance. Lovely service.
Lovely restaurant. Brilliant steak and knowledgeable staff. A real favourite.
Can never fault the steak here. The steak lived up to my memories of being extremely succulent, tender and flavourful and is definitely my favourite steak restaurant in town. Took some friends who'd never been before and everyone commented on how good they thought the steak was too. The wine on offer is also good, or at least the malbec is! Sides wise, the humitas is always a good choice, though the sweet potato fries were a bit of a disappointment being a bit tasteless and limp.
Usually the service is very good here, but perhaps they were busy and so not up to par this visit as we didn't have anyone explain the cuts this time, our sauces were forgotten, the sides took a long time to arrive and some sides came out half an hour after the rest.
I love this place and I love their steak. Staff are always nice too.
We were disappointed. The food was very expensive for what we got and whilst the prawns looked great they tasted of cleaning fluid. The music was intermittent and the ambience was flat. The waiter was friendly but the waitress really didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. As we were celebrating our son’s yearly check up following brain surgery at GOSH, we were left quite let down by the experience.
Probably the best steak I have had in London. I have eaten here several times and would recommend it to anyone who appreciates good food
Fabulous fillet steak. One of the best I ever had great wine recommendation. Attentive service. Not cheap but worth the money.
Lovely steak. Too hot in restaurant. Would’ve liked to have been seated upstairs. The downstairs room lacked ambience.
BSE is a really nice boutique Argentinian steakhouse and food is definitely up there with the Hawksmoor and Goodmans and much more affordable. Only downside I would say is no real option apart from Steak. For meat eaters, wonderful.
Service was slow and disorganised despite the place being quiet when we arrived. The food was good but very expensive compared to other steak places of a similar standard.
Nothing about it was exceptional.
Food at the Bull is always excellent - one of the best steaks I’ve had. Service is always also really friendly
A small restaurant with excellent steaks. Recommended to all meat lovers!
Food and service were very good. We had a great time but it was not a cheap evening. Would thoroughly recommend as long as you understand beforehand that if you add wine into the equation the price goes up very quickly.
I’ve visited once before a few years ago, the service and the food were once again brilliant. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is second to none. Then comes the food which is amazing and melts in your mouth. This visit was on a Monday but the restaurant was still busy and had a good atmosphere, last time I visited I sat downstairs which was a little more intimate the upstairs just felt a bit exposed, but this is a tiny detail and I thoroughly recommend The Bull and will definitely return
Whole experience excellent as ever - food impeccable, service friendly, no rushing you to get out but food delivered in a good time. Always a hit.
A lovely evening
Beautifully cooled steak. The staff were very friendly and the food was really nice. I would definitely visit again!
One of the best resturants i have ever visited. The food was simply superb, my steak was red as i ordered but still melted on my tongue like butter. The only downside for me was that the tip was included on my cheque.
We had a business lunch and the whole experience was fantastic, the steaks are amazing and the staff were very friendly. We’ll definitely be returning in the new year.
Excellent choice of steaks and wine. Staff were friendly and the service efficient
Our booking wasn’t recognised at the restaurant. Had to come back 30 mins later.
Very busy place. I was expecting more by this restaurant. Service was very slow, although the waiter tried to catch up. The steak were nice (but my friend found his steak bit chewy) but you have to pay extra for sauce and the chips and the steak came with three salad leaves. No choice of cheaper house wine. The food does not justify the high price and there are so many better restaurant around.
Really excellent steaks - downstairs being refurbished so squashed upstairs
Our first visit. Meal booked for 5pm so restaurant was quiet at this time. We shared the Sausage Platter to start. A great selection of different flavours, succulent and very tasty. We then had a ribeye steak and a burger made with a combination of four cuts of meat. Both were perfectly cooked, served with fries although other side orders are available. We enjoyed an excellent Malbec wine. No room for dessert on this occasion.
Phenomenal steak! Will 100% go back. Very nice helpful staff.
A bit expensive, but food was amazing and service excellent.
It’s the first time I went back to BSE for a while. I’m guessing they chose the name as a joke, as BSE is mad cow disease.
Last time I went they had jacked up the prices after such good reviews, but I was pleased they have now settled back to a reasonable level which really makes it an excellent value choice for dinner. While the food is as good as Hawksmoor, the ambience is very different. Upstairs is nicer than down, but it’s a small intimate restaurant which may not suit everyone. For me, I love it.
Overall great experience. They were short staffed that evening however they really tried hard to service us well. Thank you.
Wish they were able to accommodate my earlier request of a table at the window as we were celebrating a special birthday!
Amazing steaks and wine! Will visit them again for sure.
A fabulous meal with great service and wonderful food
It was buff, I back it.
It was buff, I back it.
It was buff, I back it.
Had the most amazing meal here for the second time this year. Their steak is exquisite and the staff so helpful. It’s a lovely place for a quiet meal where you can talk and enjoy amazing food. We will be back again!
Nice little reaturant away from the main road. Great steak and wine.
Great little steak restaurant tucked away on a Holborn back street, away from the main West End drag. Fantastic steak and tasty Argentine starters. Wine list a bit pricey and the restaurant itself isn't as plush as it could be, but neither really detracted from the overall experience. Probably a 4.5 out of 5 to be honest.
Nice and small recent restaurant, kind service and great meat. What a pity that there were clients shouting ( may be having drunk too much ?) sit close to us. Size of the restaurant room can’t adress such issue.
The carpaccio wasn't well seasoned and a bit leathery. The steaks were tasty but a bit tough
What more can I say?!
Came for a business lunch, really enjoyed everything and would now like to come back for a proper dinner. Everything was delicious!
The Bull Steak Expert is a really nice place to visit for a classic, good meal. It's classic beyond words, from the food choices to the layout and design. Whilst you won't be finding groundbreaking or innovative cuisine or flavour combinations, you will get tasty quality steaks, and desserts so traditional they come served with vanilla ice cream. A good place to go for a decent steak - but it does feel slightly (a lot) out of sync with London's exception cutting edge food scene.
Bull Steak Expert continues to provide top quality steaks . Service is friendly and attentive. Will certainly be back for more.
