It was lovely to come back as it had been a while for a casual lunch it was perfect I don’t think I would come here for a celebration dinner my only negative comment was the choice of music was wrong and too loud
Excellent as usual highly recommend
Amazing Sunday lunch - had three courses and fully stuffed afterwards
Staff are lovely
It was my first time to The Bulls Head at Barston and my first impressions were good. We could see the chef preparing all the Sunday Roasts and they were excellently presented. However we were very disappointed the overall quality of the food did not reflect the price. We have had better roasts in the area for less money. Consequently, our waitress was very attentive and friendly. I would return for drinks but would think twice about food.
Waited an hour for Sunday lunch. No gluten free menu for my friend. When the roast eventually arrived the meat was fine and some vegetables ok. Carrots and parsnips so hard were unbeatable.
Really lovely meal and service. An enjoyable evening would recommend.
Brilliant food and great value. Beer good and well spaced out.
Fantastic evening. Staff were brilliant and really friendly. The atmosphere was great. Already looking at returning. Cheers guys
The Ambiance is what it is. An old pub
Not all the customers are short in stature and the furnishings are all the same. For short people.
When trading improves suggest start by using higher seating
Will come again
Great food, super for the whole family, something for everyone. Pizza amazing, mackerel salad fresh and delicious. Burgers almost had us beaten!! Would highly recommend.
What a lovely surprise it was, lovely setting and the food was above expectations - new chef is a hit!
A very impressive return to Bulls Head, booked last minute but was super impressed, great service and food. Will be back for sure.
We had an amazing lunch here yesterday. We sat outside under the wooden structure and felt very safe and comfortable. The food is outstanding and loved the choice available for each course and the way it is priced. Two courses £22 or three courses. We went for two courses so unable to say the cost of three. We were served quickly and efficiently by friendly and attentive staff. We will definitely be going again....soon.
Food and service excellent but a barking dog spoiled it for me.
A quiant old England style pub set in a beautiful little village. On arrival the reception from the staff was warm, friendly and very welcoming. You was given time to look over the drinks menu and food menu before being asked for your order. The food was of a high quality standard and very well presented.
Overall a very pleasurable experience that was enjoyed by everyone within my party and would recommend this pub to all of my friends and family.
Thanks for a lovely review.
Second time in a few weeks. Lovely grub, good service and decent value for money. Our new go to food stop and looking forward to Sunday roast😎
Great to see you again, Sunday lunch are getting closer.
Staff were very attentive, food was very good but a little expensive, overall agood evening.
Were glad you enjoyed your evening. We feel our food is priced competitively against other local pubs.
Lovely evening food was great well presented and value for money. Service was excellent and staff were attentive
Thanks for the lovely review. We will let all our staff know.
Shown directly to our table, served promptly , the food was hot and appetizing.
Great food and service. Well done harrison really enjoyed the evening
Great food and lovely staff. only spoilt by being overcharged by nearly double the price, which was resolved before we left.
Food was top notch. Wonderful service from a friendly crew. Our table in the undercover outdoors dining was warm & dry on a windy miserable afternoon
Great food in lovely surroundings - fully recommended!
Bit cold with doors open. Elderly relative had to keep her coat on making it uncomfortable for us all. We sped the meal up so we could get her into a warm car.
The food was good and the service was fairly quick. 2nd visit.
The food was very good all except for the sirloin steaks which were not cooked very well and tasted very smoky. The marrow bone also tasted smoky and wasn’t very enjoyable. However we had a good time and really appreciated the work that had been done to make dining outside a pleasurable experience.
We enjoyed the visit to the Bull at Barston last evening. The meals were delicious, lovely atmosphere and great service. New owners are doing a great job. Thank you..
Had another fantastic meal yesterday. Would definitely recommend.
Food is outstanding and the decor is tasteful and staff really look after you
Just re-opened post-lockdown and also changed hands. The team seem to be working hard to change the image of the pub - a little way to go yet. Service was attentive and they were keen to get our feedback. Food was very good. My wife's main course had to go back as it was not warm - so still some creases to iron out - but you can see they're working at it. We will go back again and I expect everything will have gone up a notch.
The food was delicious but I felt the size of the vegetarian main was quite small (barbecued aubergine).
Having recently eaten in another restaurant I felt the COVID arrangements were not as thorough as elsewhere. Those cooking and waiting staff were not wearing face coverings, there was not the same awareness of proximity to diners when reaching over and there was no track and trace system.
The atmosphere was pleasant with great overhead heaters and fleeces on the chairs to stay cosy outdoors.
Overall it was a pleasant dining experiences with tasty food but a little overpriced and would prefer a few more Covid precautions.
Very good quality food! - no simply pub grub it was very tasty and the staff were so friendly. The chefs on bbq were working flat out and each meal was delicious and presented lovely. All in all well worth visit! I had the specials scallops followed by lamb rum ( with all the sides) and bread and butter pudding! Nom
Thanks to all x
Fabulous new mgt team and menu
Great addition to the neighbourhood
Fabulous food, service and friendly helpful staff.
Absolutely brilliant! Honestly, such a great place!
I was really, really disappointed with the food. My friends had chicken and burger and chips and that seemed fine, the chips were very nice.
I had the rump of lamb which was almost non existent and the fat left unrendered. A slice of raw butternut squash, skin on, no seasoning and a mostly raw half shallot. Did I say I was disappointed? I ordered the cheese board to make up for it and asked for a little chilli for flavour and got a tiny pot of chilli oil that just tasted like oil. I felt like I was being awkward and as I was with friends I didn't want to complain, but it is certainly not somewhere I would go back.
I also has scallops for starter which came with grapes and walnuts, the combo did not go at all in my opinion bit I did eat the coriander garnish and that was lovely.
A great outdoor area, though some chairs are close to the edge of the deck where it’s a little breezy ( you can’t help the weather:-) take a throw or scarf.
Close contact as you move in and out of the covered area.
Food delicious and plentiful.
Lovely staff, very helpful, all adhering to safety guidelines
Food excellent, disappointed, being put in-the middle of the room for our Rubby wedding and people rushing pass and social distance ,?when there was a table at the side empty and to old people put there later,?staff poliet
Quite expensive. Poor service. Over charged at the end.
Enjoyed our first meal outside in a pub. Lovely lunch and very pleasant. Weather wasn’t brilliant so a little chilly but didn’t spoil the experience.
Incredible quality food, impeccable service and fantastic ambiance. Great menu choices, the warmest we’ve felt eating outside since restrictions came in! We’ll certainly be back!
