It was utterly disappointing. The initial welcome was warm and friendly, and our food order was taken efficiently. Then, it all began to go wrong. It was a really long wait for the food, even though it was not very busy. The prices are a bit on the high side, and the portions are stingy. If you want vegetables as a side, be prepared to pay £4.00 for a ramekin of frozen peas and over-microwaved green beans. My battered fish was overcooked and dry. The service from one female staff member was surly and almost comical. I asked for some mayonnaise, and she brought me an empty bottle. When I finally managed to get her attention, she fetched me another bottle and pretty much slammed it down on the table. I wouldn't have minded, but guess what? This one was empty, too! We witnessed a couple walk out leaving their food untouched, and another complain about a 45-minute wait, and still their food had not arrived. Red wine was terrible. Children's macaroni cheese was no more than a saucerfull. There's a reason this place was so quiet on a Saturday night!

I just had a main meal that was just over 15 pound for pie and mash. Price wise I believe that to be a little bit excessive the reason we chose the borough tour in was because they had a supper Club that was two courses for 19 pound but when we got there we found out they didn't do it on a Friday but by then it was too late to go anywhere else.

Haven’t visited the pub for awhile. Was told food was good but a bit expensive compared to most pubs. I have to agree with that statement. The food was good very enjoyable, only downside I had a pie n chips, but the pastry on the pie wasn’t very crisp, I would say it was microwaved to warm it up. Other than that my wife enjoyed her fish and chips.

Very welcoming staff..was greeted immediately. Sat at bar while I table was being made available. Lovely comfortable chairs. Dining room was relaxing and informal but also felt as though you were Dining. Food was amazing, hot and plenty. Desserts were out of this world. First time of eating here and certainly will not be the last. Can't see any room for improvement. Amazing..

Our table was reserved and ready when we arrived. The service was prompt and friendly. There was a good choice of starters, mains and desserts and the food was delicious. The pies are to be recommended. There is also a good choice of drinks at reasonable prices, including a variety of wines by the glass and draught beers. Overall this is a good choice for a family meal and also for a quiet dinner for two.

We really love that it is doggy friendly and even has a dog wash outside for after those muddy treks on the Moor. Location is great. Pub has a great ambience and is very friendly. However, although our food tasted good, the portions were very small for the price (lunch menu). Particularly the fish and chips at £12.50. Only thing that we felt let down about. Maybe choose from the main menu.
