In the picturesque Warwickshire village of Priors Hardwick. The Butchers Arms is one of the region's finest dining experiences.
As our owner, Nuno Correia’s passion permeates through our restaurant—from the signature Portugese dishes to our extensive wine collection. Our cottage gardens abound with colour in the summer, while the honey-hued inn is warmed by open fires through winter. It is truly a house for all seasons.

What a lovely lovely place. Not cheap but so worth it.
Dining room a bit dark and old fashioned, it is also very large and lacks ambience.
Service was excellent but I thought the food was on the expensive side, we had to pay extra for vegetables, and bread.
Great Sunday lunch, great service & lovely ambience. Always plenty of staff and nothing is too much trouble, highly recommend.
The four of us had a great evening yesterday. Great hosts
Great food, great service and a lovely place to be for a long lunch!
Really good food and wine, tried the Portuguese pork which was fantastic busy with families
A lovely afternoon
We had a lovely meal with our special friends last night. The meal was amazing to look at and even better once we started to eat it. The atmosphere was lovely, very friendly but also professional. It has changed a great deal but the food was still top class. We all had a wonderful evening and will go back soon.
The Portuguese menu makes the restaurant stand out. The Portuguese wines are also worth trying.
Has regained its pre-pandemic excellence. Good food, good service - could not fault anything.
A pleasant experience. Enjoyed the meal. Good to be back. Be nicer when it gets a bit busier
Great service food lovely and priced well, wine list good value and in house wine knowledge guided me to buy Portuguese wine instead of my usual French which was great also
Very good food but slightly odd service. We were happily shown to our table and ordered a bottle of wine as a pre dinner drink and then ordered the while you wait bread and olives. The rest of our order was taken at the same time. The starters and the while you wait bread and olives arrived very quickly with the starters just before the bread. The main course arrived virtually as we had our our utensils down from the starter. We were then approached several times to order dessert but resisted until we had a suitable pause, when we ordered the desserts they seemed to take a normal length of time to arrive. The food was excellent and had the service matched we would very happily come back. Now I am not so sure.
Consistently good, over many years we have had excellent food and service from The Butchers Arms
Service was slow and inattentive. We sent a pint of beer back because it was off, exchanged it for a G&T and were still charged for the beer. We ordered bottled water which did not arrive until we asked a second time.
The desserts were slid along the table from one end to the person sitting at the other.
Food was very good, ambience was good, the service let the whole thing down.
It exceeded our expectations. It was my husbands birthday and the staff had all signed a card. Nice touch. We will be back for sure
Excellent cuisine in a beautiful atmosphere enhanced by professional service. The Butchers Arms which is set in a lovely village and has excellent gardens, have always gone that extra mile to please their customers. This is and will always be my venue for special occasions. Nuno and team need our support.
Our first visit to this lovely restaurant / pub. We shall certainly be returning. It was excellent.
Having no ambient music was strange/awkward/unnerving.
Most staff didn't return a smile/slightly cold- throughout the entire dinner, ended up feeling unwelcome.
One shining light of the evening- a passionate server (bald, glasses) came to offer information about wines which was a lovely conversation just before leaving. Too bad he wasn't around the rest of the meal.
Unfortunately our waitress engagement & customer service skills were lacking during our dining experience.
A pleasant Sunday lunch. Haven’t been fr a while. Looking forward to my next visit.
This was our third trip to the Butchers in the last Year. The previous 2 experiences were not great but we wanted to give it one more go as it's been a strange year for restaurants.
Even out of the Covid restrictions the bar isn't set up and we stood waiting for 10 minutes before deciding to go through to the restaurant to find a member of staff.
Service - slightly dated in style and we sat with an empty wine glass for 15 minutes whilst staff stood and starred until I flagged I needed to order another drink. They weren't busy at this point.
Food - They know how to cook fish, sea bream was lovely, they cremated the steak so much so that it smelt burnt and was rock hard (ordered medium-rare) clearly others in the restaurant had the same problem while we watched them saw through the meat. A replacement was offered however the experience put us off re-ordering. They kindly reduced the bill and were very apologetic but after the first 2 times we thought they would have gotten it right finally.
Over all its a real shame as the Butchers always held a good reputation for food and service.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Excellent food and service. The Butcher's Arms is a welcome change from the frantic pace of life today. Beautifully located in the heart of the country, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
Very attractive restaurant. Attentive staff and good food.
Thoroughly enjoyed meal, ambience, and service. Has a party sitting adjacent who spoke very loudly and some of the conversation was not really for a fine dining restaurant
Having previously visited will not go again no tablecloths no place mats no welcome no concern as to wether we were happy with the meal or not no thankyou for coming If it were not for the price we paid we might just as well have eaten in the local cafe. As this was my mothers 95th birthday treat we were all very disappointed at the total lack of interest .What a difference from when we last visited we almost felt as if we were intruding.
Very helpful and attentive staff. Nothing is too much trouble and willing to accommodate all reasonable requests.
The menu provides a well thought out selection of food and drink.
Taken straight to table. Unable to sit and relax with a drink and see the menu
Good service and food. Very quiet due to being mid week and Covid.
Having eaten here in the past, we were really looking forward to this special evening and experience. Unfortunately that magical experience has disappeared. Food was bland with below average pub grub, at inflated prices. all in all an expensively disappointing evening.
We ate in the beautiful garden sat at a stylish stone topped table.
Our waitress Rosa was perfectly attentive.
We ordered from the set lunch menu.
The food was delicious, hot and generous portions.
The restaurant was beautifully appointed and the ambience calm & relaxing with great spacing between tables.
We will definitely re visit this wonderful venue again and next time eat in the restaurant.
Perfectly placed for a meander down to the canal.
A charming restaurant with a beautiful garden and Nuno, a very welcoming host.
Excellent food and service. The butterflied King Prawn starter was divine and I especially recommend the traditional Portuguese dishes. Remember to ask Nuno to suggest one of his excellent Portuguese wines to go with it.
An ideal choice for special occasions but also good value for a relaxing lunch or dinner anytime.
Some changes have had to be made since our (many) previous visits because of Covid, but the new arrangements work well and we had the kind of thoroughly enjoyable evening we always have at the Butcher's Arms. The food, service and atmosphere are still excellent. We hope to be back soon.
We enjoyed our meal very much but there is confusion when you arrive as there is nobody to meet you. The food was amazing although I did feel the cheeseboard was expensive for the amount of cheese and plain Jacobs crackers.
Overall though we had a very enjoyable evening and the staff were attentive and cherful.
My companions enjoyed their meal, I found the duck a bit tasteless and the sauce was not very ‘orangey’. The only vegetarian option on either menu had mushrooms to which one member was allergic. A larger starter was the only option. We have been patrons for a number of years now, the staff are charming and attentive, but feel that there was just something off centre but I’m sure this will not prevail.
Super setting and staff couldn’t have been more helpful or cheerful. We each had a traditional Sunday roast and although very tasty, the meat was well done and the vegetables a fraction over-cooked for us to rate it as excellent. Good value for money and we would still recommend it to anyone liking a lovely atmosphere and good traditional cooking.
Went for Sunday lunch and the roast beef was excellently cooked. Good sized portion too.
Very pleasant, helpful staff. Happy to see Covid measures still in place too.
We had a delicious Sunday lunch which happened to be my husbands birthday
The only thing I was slightly disappointed with - my husband and I had garlic butterflied prawns as a starter without bread! Argh we need to bread to mop up the butter!!!
But overall a very nice lunch and great service
Another great meal at the butchers arms. It is pricey compared to other places close by, but it’s so worth it:)
Excellent evening at The Butchers Arms, the family thoroughly enjoyed it. The menu, food, service and ambience were all fabulous. Highly recommend if you want a special meal.
Great service in a traditional and pleasing environment.
