A very special place Beautiful surroundings Excellent food and wine Service faultless Has a well deserved Michelin star It is expensive but it is definitely worth it!
Outstanding food, excellent service and scenic view.
Top notch. Great place to celebrate a special occasion.
What a lovely location! The Manor house is both grand and beautiful, and this gave the evening a real luxurious feel.
Each course was excellently presented and the food delicious.
I also appreciated that, although it was Valentines Day, the price wasn't hiked up for the night.
I would recommend The Bybrook for a special occasion.
Fabulous food. Excellent service. Highly recommended
We had an absolutely stunning meal at the Bybrook Restaurant. It's not often that we can afford to go out to a fancy restaurant and thankfully it did not disappoint on any level. We both went for the tasting menu and every course was flawless, the portions were also just the right size. It was my girlfriend's birthday dinner, and she was brought out a little sign saying happy birthday, which was a really nice touch. The staff were professional and knowledgeable, if a little overly formal, although I'm sure that's what's generally expected from clients in such an upmarket hotel and restaurant. Overall, it was a brilliant experience from beginning to end, and I wish we could visit every month!
Simply outstanding with such an eye for detail, this was my favourite restaurant by far.
I went with my wife and two daughters (aged 10 and 12). Overall we had an outstanding meal from the a la carte menu accompanied by a pleasant white Mercurey.
The starters (quail and scallops) that we ordered were absolutely delicious; the highlight was the halibut main course that was sublime and perfectly presented - a beautifully balanced dish. Everybody enjoyed their choice of desert and the meal as a whole left us replete and very happy.
The service was attentive and very professional without being overdone. The sommelier was also helpful and engaging and made a very good wine recommendation: next visit I'll come by cab so I can enjoy more of what looks a first-class wine list.
We're all looking forward to coming back soon. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
A fabulous fine dining experience in the perfect country setting. Amazing.
This was quite enjoyable. The service was a marked improvement on our last visit back in 2012 and is now of a standard one would expect in a fine dining room. The food was generally acceptable and well cooked and presented although disappointing to see food items clearly out of season being given a prominent position. Blackberries and figs in late December-why when there are plenty of enjoyable alternatives? I would have thought a Michelin starred chef would be chomping at the bit to be ahead of the game not behind the curve. Seems to be a common thread to country hotel dining rooms. Shouldn't judge on one visit but I'm struggling to see how the Michelin star was retained.Trouble is we go to Wilks in Bristol too often-now that really is how it should be done.Full marks though to the young Polish assistant restaurant manager whose enthusiasm and eagerness to please lit up the evening.
my husband and I loved coming back to celebrate one year since renewal of our vows.
the staff couldn't have been more helpful.
my one complaint is that for a restaurant of this calibre in England especially, I think it's important to have at least one elder person in charge or as head waiter or head somelier to offer advice from a seasoned perspective. on this particular evening the whole place was run by under 30's (perhaps even under 25!) and even though they are superb, keen and clever, I wanted to be able to speak to someone who has been around the block a few more times.
food was tasty as usual and not badly priced for quality. the drinks menu is super expensive, however, especially champagne which was quite frankly a rip off at £165 per bottle.
Wonderful Anniversary meal not cheap but worth it service was fantastic
My wife and I had our 10th wedding anniversary meal here; we had a really enjoyable evening! The tasting menu was a treat; and the pairing of food and wine was superb. The service was attentive and helpful, but not intrusive. The atmosphere reflected a special evening without feeling pretentious. Many thanks; I'll recommend to others.
High expectations exceeded. A special birthday celebrated with wonderul food and attentive service.
We have been to the Manor House on many occasions & we love it.. everything about it is perfect..
The bybrook at The Manor House is our favourite place on Earth. We got married there 5 years ago and return every year for our anniversary, plus visiting throughout the year for evening meals, lunches and afternoon tea.
We would totally recommend for ANY occasion as the place, food and staff are all excellent.
The venue met and exceeded all our expectations for service and food.
Outstanding food - flawless service. This was the best restaurant we could have chosen for a special occasion. The food was outstanding, the service was flawless and it really was like something out of a fairy tale
It was a special occasion and I will always remember this night
First impression never left us in that we thought the whole experience delightful. Reception, personal attention, staff and food first class. Just a shame that one diner for no apparent reason continued to keep his cap on during the whole lunch. Unfortunately most things seem to have sunk to the lowest common denominator these days. Despite this we would revisit some time in the future.
Nice food but extremely small portions and very overpriced. Bill came to £230 and we had to eat afterwards as we were still hungry!
Service is great. No ambience at all.
Would not go back as price did not reflect the overall experience.
Fantastic venue and superb food. The service was second to none and the staff knew the menu inside out and back to front. The food was exceptional.
Have eaten here many times in the past (20years ago - ish )
Was as fantastic today as memories were from then . I do remember one of my uncles being refused entry due to suit but no tie ( he borrowed one eventually) it seems those standards are no longer required as I was the only one suited on this latest occasion..
Great food ,great location and great attentive service.
Until our next visit
p.s We stayed in the main house rooms which was also a fantastic experience.
FABULOUS! Absolutely faultless. Great friendly service, superb food, great choice, great wine, great location and surroundings. We went for a 40th birthday and stayed in the hotel too. A real treat - absolutely loved it!
Following a recommendation from a friend, who compared it favourably with top Michelin starred restaurants, we decided to pay the Bybrook a visit. It exceeded our expectations and we will certainly be visiting again in the near future.
Beautiful, beautiful setting with a roaring fire in the lounge however the dining room was on the cool side. Plenty of space between tables.
The tasting menu is a must. The food was beautifully presented and flavours well balanced, all within the party enjoyed the menu immensely. Staff were very attentive but it often felt they were reading off a script.
Hotel staff were chatty, polite and very helpful. I would stay in the hotel if the opportunity arose and revisit the restaurant. It is worthy of its Michelin star.
A quintessential building which oozes character. The tasting menu was exquisite with so many sumptuous flovours, however very expensive after adding the 12.5% service charge
Bickering staff in the bar spoilt our pre dinner drinks. Excellent food, London 1* standard. Great sommelier. Ugly room and at least 30 dirty glasses 'displayed ' on the central table for the whole of the meal - disgusting and very odd. Appears to have very poor management but some excellent staff and chef.
the food was perfect and the waiters and sommelier were charming and excellent. the only issue was a mix up at the start where we received the first course of the tasting menu but no wine pairing - there had been some miscommunication - but by the time the sommelier arrived everything was good - and he was great. its good to have tables spaced so far apart - but the room itself is not particularly exciting
Outstanding food! The taster menu with the accompanying wine was a wonderful dining experience, excellent service. Highly recommended
The food, wine, and service where superb couldn't fault anything Michelin star quality food.Thank You.
Everything we wanted, and, nice paced service. But the standout was the wine service. The sommelier was excellent, both in knowledge and table side manor!
I enjoyed the Bybrook, it was a fantastic venue for our wedding anniversary. Only minor niggles were that the service was a little slow and we would have enjoyed a more detailed description by the waiter when serving each course. Overall the food was wonderful and they were able tailor the tasting menu to our specific requirements, which was a pleasant surprise.
A truly wonderful experience, from start to finish. The Bybrook is part of the beautiful Manor House hotel, a beautiful setting in the Cotswolds.
The ambience was wonderful, with service attentive and personal. The food was immaculately presented and of the highest quality, with lovely touches such as the amouse-bouches before starting and freshly cooked bread.
I would highly recommend The Bybrook to anyone looking for a high quality meal and look forward to returning.
Try to hard but not up to the expectation
We visited the Bybrook whilst staying at the Manor house as a mini celebration and weren't disappointed. We had read that the dining experience was a bit stuffy and overly formal but found that to not be the case at all. The Dining area is very spacious allowing a comfortable space between tables. The attentive service we received surpassed what we have experienced at several other similar quality restaurants and was at no point intrusive. Whilst not hugely experimental all elements of the taster menu were delicious with dishes spread evenly though the evening never feeling rushed. I would recommend staying at the house / lodges as the setting is amazing and the overall service was of an excellent standard. Whilst not a complaint be prepared to spend quite a bit if you intend on making good use of the bar. The sensible choice seemed to be drinking wine by the bottle as you could get a decent bottle for under £30. We got a little too familiar with the cocktail menu which probably wasn't the best value (although flavourful)
Overall a great experience and we will be dining again, Soon!
Love the Manor House, it's our favourite restaurant . We got married there and go back for every special occasion.
I just can't tell you how absolutely fantastic the whole experience was and truly can't wait to go again sensational
The pre-dinner drinks and canapes, were lovely and leisurly in the bar area, the order was taken and the wine list a fascinating read. The amuse bouche, was wonderful -Butternet Squash with gnocci. Starters were fabulous in Fois Gras and smoked salmon. Main course was Lamb and Veal. Then an experience never experienced before a Pre-Dessert to dessert, who ever knew this existed. The finale was the souffle - wonderful, wonderful....
The food was amazing and the service pleasant and at a nice pace. All staff were trained and we had a lovely evening. Thanks to all the team
We were treated to a lovley weekend at The Mamor House Hotel within which the resturant is situated. We were not disappionted. We had great service and fantastic food. We had the taster menu, every dish was explained to us, the staff were very knowledgable and friendly. Thank you for a lovely weekend!
This is the second time that we have used the restaurant and we will definitely return again and would not hesitate to recommend the Manor. As on the last occasion - it was absolutely fabulous. The food is outstanding and I appreciate the fact that the produce is locally sourced and in season. My dinner had to be changed slightly as I don't eat meat, but Richard carefully chose alternatives for me (we had the 7 course tasting menu). The support staff can't do enough for you and make you feel like Kings and Queens. Both my husband and I have had the opportunity to eat at high class restaurants all over the world and regularly eat at the Grovenor Restaurant in Chester (The Arkyl) but have to say that the Manor has turned out to be our favourite and if we lived closer (we live in Cheshire) we would be more regular diners. Thank you ever so much for making the night special - it was our 29th wedding anniversary
