Celebrated as one of the TOP 5 restaurants in the Lothians at the 2019 Food and Drink awards, our laid-back restaurant The Campaign Room, is once again open from Thursday 29th of April!

Using the very best, fresh, local and seasonal Scottish produce, we’ll be dishing up a daily selection of mouthwatering lunches and dinners from our brand new Spring menu.

A warm welcome by staff. Beautiful surroundings. I took my friend out for her birthday dinner. She absolutely loved her meal. Nice choice on the menu. Food well presented. Staff attentive throughout asking how our meal was without intrusion. Thank you to all staff for a wonderful evening. Both myself and my friend will definitely be back.

As always, a wonderful meal enjoyed in beautiful surroundings. The staff are wonderful and so accommodating. With my mother in a wheelchair it’s sometimes difficult to find easily accessible spaces, but the team at Carberry Tower really ensures that everyone feels really comfortable. A special shoutout to the wonderful Phil who shared some fabulous historical stories about the building - huge thanks! See you soon.

Service was slow and only partial orders arrived. Some of the meal was unexpectedly stone cold. Staff were pleasant but often invisible. Disappointing experience.

Lovely location but we're the only ones in, a table of 6, so really quiet for a room able to take 30+ covers. The room itself was lovely and there was no issues with cleanliness anywhere. Eventually another small group came in for afternoon tea but that was it for the sitting. There was a wedding starting elsewhere in the venue so maybe that had an impact? Quite a small menu selection but main meals we had were lovely, but pretty simple fare. Staff were great throughout and kept the afternoon special. Drinks, including cocktails, were a little slow to arrive, but all were lovely and well priced. On the negative side the desserts were a real let down. We had one from each of the options available, only 3, but each was really poor. Crunchy nuts and panna cotta sounded okay, but it was panna cotta, ice cream with crunchy nut cornflakes sprinkles around it, super odd and certainly not worth the £7.50 price. Someone else had double raspberry mouse, which was actually a cream and (assume raspberry) compote and at the bottom was strawberries, again, not worth £7.50 and pretty bland. The caramelised banana cheesecake was the final dessert but it was so frozen it was shattering when trying to get through it and actually hurt someone's tooth. There was no caramelising anywhere to be seen, so none of the desserts matched the menu. A real shame as the mains were really good and the front of house team was great. Would I go back? I don't think I'd book again, but if I did go as part of someone else's booking, at least I would know to avoid the desserts. Overall cost was £300 but for 6 and lots of drinks, value was actually pretty good. Recommended for main meals and location.

sadly our experience was not good. we had aSunday Roast Dinner. Two slices of thick tough beef. it was chewable. when we mentioned this to the waitress she said she would speak to the chef. His comment was that the next one would be better. I was embarrassed at this service and dissatisfied. obviously had been cooked for lunch and as our booking was for Six. we were given the hard cold leftovers. Probably won’t return which is a shame.
