The Cardinal's Hat
Situated in the historic quarter of the city, The Cardinal's Hat is just a five minute stroll from the cathedral. First mentioned in 1497, Worcester's oldest pub has plenty of experience when it comes to pleasing weary pilgrims.
Today, it is a friendly and informal pub which serves a great collection of real ale and award winning pies, with the additional of 6 boutique city rooms to stay in.

Sorry to have to give a negative rating when it's been a tough year for the industry.
We booked in advance, were given a warm welcome. Staff were great, even gave our dog some treats which was a nice touch.
We were offered a drink straight away. We were recommended a drink by the friendly staff which was very nice.
After 30 minutes we started to try and get the attention of the staff to place a food order. I even went to the bar, as after 45 minutes of trying to flag a staff member, we were getting hungry. I was told to sit down, staff was busy pouring drinks and didn't want to hear our hungry dilemma.
After nearly an hour, we gave up and left. We spent the most of the next hour trying to find food. Eventually finding a shop that sold simple sarnies.
Thankfully there are other, more positive reviews here, so hopefully our experience was just a blip.
But it left us with a poor experience of what promised to be a nice pub experience which we'd been waiting for since before the pandemic.
Wonderful service from friendly and helpful bar staff
Have heard about their famous pies!
Sadly none available!
Were first in when the establishment opened. Sat down ordered a drink and perused menu to order a meal.
No Worcester pies available.
Should have been told before we were seated and at least when we asked for a menu.
Had our drinks and left.
Lovely service and great drinks
Only went for a drink. but very well organised, good service and efficient staff. Would recommend.
Great choice of ales and pies are top draw
Went for lunch but was not servicing food
Great service and fantastic Meissels Weiss Bier.
Thanks to the staff.
Booked a table for food online, and was even sent a menu before the reservation only to arrive to be told that the kitchens were shut and no food was available. Very disappointed but luckily we managed to book in at a more accommodating restaurant so our night was not ruined. Will not be wasting my time here again.
Very relaxed atmosphere, good food and good social distancing measures.
Very busy but well managed outdoor area
We only attended for drinks and used the app which worked well
Great food. Quality !
We just had drinks but it was a great atmosphere in the courtyard area
And we had a fabulous time.
Great food and staff( Rio is a gem).
I don't agree with names of customers being on public display on table reservation chalk board.
Great food. Great staff and overall a wonderful place to have a drink and some pie!
Great work done by the team in this first weekend of activity
Felt safe and staff were there to help every request
Great venue - atmosphere was great - great beers - friendly staff.
COVID safe with the garden being covered and having heating.
The house speciality, homemade pies, is excellent but the menu as a whole is very limited.
Enormous price hike on real ales nearly 15%. Butty Bach now £4.00 down the road Saracens Head £3.20 both have suffered the same covid restrictions. Know where I will be drinking
Great to be back. Friendly service, great beer. Warm and cosy seating in the booths. Would recommend.
Great pub but we had to wait. First for ages at the door to be seated then 80mins for food and keep reminding the staff about forgotten orders and bills.
Great as a boozer but as a covid bar that needs to serve food this was very poor.
Due to current restrictions it was well organised and the food excellent, but the atmosphere not quite the same!
One person was trying to do everything. Take you to your table, take your order, deliver drinks and food. We waited over thirty minutes for our food, despite the pub being quiet, then we were told one of the items we had ordered was not available. I dont blame the person who served us, the lack of staff was the reason.
A friendly pub with a good atmosphere. Our meal was a rather slow to arrive, but was excellent when it did. Staff were very attentive. We will definite go again.
Lovely pies! We coming team, great atmosphere. Would definitely go back
