Lovely village location. Plenty of parking available. Outdoor seating to front and rear. Excellent food and service.. would highly recommend.
Delicious Sunday Lunch. The locally produced beef was amazing. Would also highly recommend the Lemon Cheesecake! We will be back.
Garlic bread and pizza were fab but puddings slightly let them down.
Was recommended this pub and was not disappointed! Great food, friendly service and all in the most beautiful setting. Will definitely be returning. Also want to try the pizzas on the veranda area - looked tasty
An excellent meal and very accommodating host. Would highly recommend.
We visited the Cat and Custard midweek as a family of four whilst holidaying in the area. It was amazing from start to finish, service was fabulous and the food equally outstanding. Children had the battered fish, chips and peas and we had the sea bream and ox cheeks which I would highly recommend. Really lovely location too with outside seating at the back looking out onto the countryside if you want a more informal setting or drinks in the warm weather!
The food was delicious. The service was quick and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend a meal at The Cat & Custard Pot
Nice pub in a nice location, but we booked specifically because it was a sunny evening, hoping to be able to sit outdoors and enjoy the sun. We could sit outdoors, but NOT in the sun as the patio at the rear (recently refurbished) is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. We were told this was for "Covid reasons". Food and service were good though.
The service was a bit chaotic on the second evening we were there. But the food is excellent and the manager and staff are friendly and helpful.
We had a great meal here on the 6th June.
No background music so the room was very quiet and felt a little awkward.
Service was fabulous from all the team. My goats cheese starter didn’t really taste of goats cheese, more like a crisp cake. The Charcuterie board made up for it though.
The roast beef was a triumph, proper thick slices of rare beef and homemade Yorkshire puddings.
We had a superb Sunday roast. The staff were friendly and the food was fantastic. I would highly recommend this pub.
Sunday lunch was average which is why we thought it was pricey. Service was average also, with staff showing little or no interest in us as customers, just went through the motions.
Fantastic pizza in a lovely garden environment at the rear of the pub
Lovely food, friendly staff, and really helpful and knowledgeable with catering for my food allergies.
Lovely meal. Took a while for food order to be taken after we’d asked for a couple of minutes extra to decide, but the staff apologised for the wait. Food was lovely and extremely generous with the portion sizes!
Love the new Pizza terrace. The pizza was good and piping hot. The service was slow but the staff were friendly.
Lovely decor, plenty of outside space which looked newly done. Couple of food choices not available , I guess because it was Tuesday lunchtime after Bank holiday. But plenty of choice for us. Food delicious, served promptly though bit slow taking order.
We had the most amazing lunch at this beautiful pub in this stunningly pretty village. I must admit, I was keen to book the pub initially due to its quirky name, but I was actually surprised at how perfect it was! The service was incredible, the food was delicious, will definitely book again!!!
I have eaten here twice now - once for pizza and once in the restaurant. Both times we had excellent service with high quality delicious food with generous portions. Definitely recommended!
There was a wait but worth it in The end. Friendly staff too
Great service…. Fantastic food! In a wonderful location!
Always great food and excellent service.
Delicious food in lovely surroundings . All staff helpful and cheerful . Love the new outside drinking and pizza area .
Bedrooms comfortable . Breakfast sets you up for the day ahead .
As usual consistently great food. Looking forward to trying the new terrace as weather improves.
The food and wine were excellent. It was far better than the food offered in our hotel so in terms of food , it was excellent . However the wait for the main course was a little too long but worth the wait . The manager seemed extremely stressed , and we were sat next to the point where the staff and himself congregated so we were within earshot of some technical problems which were being discussed! Didn’t really wanted to hear staff being told off ??!!
A splendid evening -- everything first rate. We called in the next afternoon for a drink and a snack. we had a delicious pizza which was lovely and just what we needed.
Thanks to all staff
I have been coming to the Cat and Custard Pot for more than 30 years. It is my "local" .
I have always found them to be welcoming and very kind. I am always happy to bring friends and family to enjoy a meal or a drink with me. Of course it has changed over the years but has not lost its delightful atmosphere.
Meal was nicely presented. Yorkshires were disappointing. Broccoli was a bit brown. Carrots delicious. Pork slightly tough. Waiter was extremely pleasant.
First time great lunch won’t be last time as will return
Worst food ever had. Everything overcooked and overpriced
Definitely needed music as was awkward atmosphere. The two servers were amazing though and very knowledgeable of the bar which was amazing. The food however was a let down and had to be sent back. However staff were extremely apologetic.
Easy parking with space for about 20 cars I’d guess. Comfortable seating outside front and rear and inside of course. Nice-ish food which I had (burger n steak n ale pie over 2 days) is I suspect bought pre-prepared. I believe it could easily be improved with more preparation on site. It tended to be rather tasteless. The staff are friendly, attentive and the service is good. The decor seems new and the loos and general standard of cleanliness is good and all seems well run. I’d go again but opt for Pizza in the back garden, which I understand is all original Italian and made on site and under cover outside. Good selection of beers and wine. All in all a pleasant experience.
First day out of lockdown and considering this the food and the ambience was delightful. The chef did a great job, service was fine and I am sure will get really slick like the rest of the pub. Much enjoyed, thank you.
Lovely old Cotswold pub. Food not as we would have expected. The cheese souffle was a flat, overcooked creation floating on top of an underflavoured liquid. The meat pie had too much gravy and looked the part but, again, wasn't flavoursome. The server made no enquiry as to whether we enjoyed it or not and, normally, we would give direct feedback at the time. Such a lovely location, they'll do well but, equally, there is better food in nearby locations.
Their pizza terrace is a very comfortable setting. The pizzas were good with crisp crusts but thin base. Staff were excellent, very friendly and attentive. would recommend a visit.
Lovely pizza terrace . Cat and custard have done a great job 👍🏼
Fantastic Pub, lovely setting and service and food are brilliant.
Fantastic outdoor facilities under cover with the benefits of a gas heater and blankets. Definitely worth a visit.
Lovely experience and wonderful food, can’t wait to eat here again!
The food was great, with very good and friendly service. The new outside area was perfect, sheltered but still catching the evening sun.
