It happens to be a really good and reliable venue mid-distance between friends, so suits us very well.
We have never been disappointed.
Catchup with busy working children so decided to eat in a new place together .
Beer really good ,son coming back for Biltong ,
Easy social distanced dining no fuss.
Will return soon
We did wait a long time for our food. But when it came it was very good.
We were placed near a fully open door so it was uncomfortably drafty. We understand that there is a need for ventilation due to Covid but we realised a bit too late that there seemed to be other tables further in which were empty which we were not offered.
Very nice food, staff very friendly and welcoming.
Bar area and restaurant area very well cleaned. Definitely recommend. Will visit again. Well done to all the team.
We stayed at The Cat and Custard Pot for 2 nights in September and ate in the restaurant both evenings. It was a delight - we have been away recently in other places, and I have lost count of the times I have had to ask for noisy music to be turned down; however, The Cat and Custard Pot had no music playing - it was bliss. The food is prepared to a high standard, really tasty with good but not over-bearing portions.
We can highly recommend The Cat and Custard Pot; we will certainly go back when we are in that area again.
Very nice meal my steak and Ale pie was excellent. My partner had the Cajun burger which they liked. No room for pudding so come hungry! Grouch on tap too.
A lovely surprise. Really good food - good selection of choices. Quality experience.
Would highly recommend - delicious biltong salad and a very generous helping
Food was excellent, delicious, dining room comfortable, warm, well decorated, interesting pictures. Stare friendly and profess, would definitely eat here again!
Yes and I have to friends at work. Looking for suggestions on where to go for a quality Sunday Lunch.
I have eaten at The Cat & Custard Pot on a few occasions recently and when i was asked to take some good friends for Sunday Lunch this weekend it wasn't a gamble to book a table here. we were not disappointed and thoroughly enjoyed the lunch, the service and the ambiance . . we'll come gain soon.
A warm welcome from the staff who provided a good service. The food is a little pricey as we knew but so were the wines. One of our the four meals ordered, a duck dish, was not edible due to the quality of the meat. The staff did apologise and deducted this from the bill so no complaint with that.
Very warm welcome & excellent service. Good menu choices at reasonable prices.
Excellent food at a sensible price. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. It was busy on a Wednesday lunchtime which showed how popular it is. Only criticism is very limited vegetarian and vegan options
The staff were very friendly and efficient, the food vey good in a pub full of character. What more could you want for a lovely lunch?
A very enjoyable meal with good friendly service.
We booked a table on our way home from a girls weekend away in Stow-on-the-Wold. Such a lovely Sunday roast. I would definitely recommend.
Lovely pub building with charming front garden. Service attentive and professional. The disappointment is the quality of the food - very ordinary indeed. Won’t be dining again and imagine it is a nice spot for a pint and a chat rather than lunch.
Good was lovely and overall had a great time but service was a little sporadic. Started off very well with the wait team showing a fabulous level of knowledge on the beers and wine they were offering however it then tailed off we ordered a couple more beers and it was a good 15 mins before they appeared, they then cleared only half our plates asked if we wanted to see the pudding menu - yes please but it didn’t materialise. Ended up going inside to pay as taxi was due so we left without pudding and the dirty plates still on the table. Overall thought this wouldn’t stop us returning
Delicious meal and great service. Booking in again very soon!
Great find! close to Tetbury. Large car park to rear, plenty of seating at bar and two or three 'alcove' dining rooms. We enjoyed a pleasant Saturday lunch. Good menu choice, usual 'autumn suspects'. Cooked well, good size portions (although scallops a little pricey for portion of only three - nevertheless delicious, quality than quantity), lovely fresh plentiful veg. Staff were friendly and service was good/quick. Busy atmosphere which added to the meal.
A lovely village pub with excellent food and beer. A quiet, idyllic location.
Absolutely wonderful service, delicious food, and the setting was idyllic.
We walked here from Tetbury for lunch on the pizza terrace. Good pizzas all round and a lovely pint of Hook Norton.
Great food. Best service had in a long time. Especially by guy outside looking after pizza area. Also inside night before. Highly recommended 👌
Good friendly service. Comfortable seating and good menu choices. The steak pie was delicious with tasty and tender beef and perfect pastry topping which may well have been home made. Definitely a good place.
A wonderful find. We had the pizza terrace menu which was spot-on. The choices allow for the traditional but also offer something a bit quirky in the pizza line. Service was attentive. We'll be back
Disappointed. The food was average, the service was poor. We were seated and had to wait a good 20 minutes to be offered drinks and a similar time to pay.
Good all round excellence as before. Will look forward to another visit.
Delicious food and generous portions. Clearly a very popular place. We didn't have pizzas but they look fantastic.
Food was good - but after ordering our mains the waitress had to return to say there was no fondant potatoe, as specified on menu ... and when I asked for lemon cheesecake the waitress also had to return to say that this was no longer on the menu!
Great pub, food and service although crumble had a very hard topping so stick to main course
Lovely great quality food. Excellent range of drinks. Great service.
Well spaced tables, good menu, excellent service, hearty and tasty food. Strongly recommended
Great pizza on the rear terrace and the star pizza is a fab choice and very substantial.
Lovey Cotswold pub which is worth the small extra effort to find, you will not be disappointed. Excellent choice of menu away from the usual bland and boring pub food served by many. The Ox Cheek was superb. Staff couldn’t be more helpful. We have already booked to return soon.
First time eating here after finding the pub on a Sunday walk. Really good food, served by friendly staff in a lovely setting. Nice menu too. Service took slightly longer than I would have liked but the pub was really busy (even on a Tuesday night) and the food was definitely worth waiting for so not a problem.
We had really lovely food and the service was friendly and efficient. Thank you for a very pleasant evening.
Was disappointed, one staff member was lovely but the whole experience was ruined by time and others. The food was salty , some members weren’t friendly or overly nice , the wait time not only for food but rather clearing stuff away was ridiculous. I didn’t feel I wanted to tip because of being let down but obviously the fine print on the bottom of the menus said I had to do so. I’d return but might wait a bit of time to see if the reviews help management knuckle down on service in order to better themselves.
The food was exceptional, really tasty and great quality. Only spoiled with somewhat slow service, we did arrive early, but were there a long time before we got served, with others coming and being served much quicker.
