We walked here from Tetbury for lunch on the pizza terrace. Good pizzas all round and a lovely pint of Hook Norton.
Great food. Best service had in a long time. Especially by guy outside looking after pizza area. Also inside night before. Highly recommended 👌
Good friendly service. Comfortable seating and good menu choices. The steak pie was delicious with tasty and tender beef and perfect pastry topping which may well have been home made. Definitely a good place.
Disappointed. The food was average, the service was poor. We were seated and had to wait a good 20 minutes to be offered drinks and a similar time to pay.
Good all round excellence as before. Will look forward to another visit.
Delicious food and generous portions. Clearly a very popular place. We didn't have pizzas but they look fantastic.
Food was good - but after ordering our mains the waitress had to return to say there was no fondant potatoe, as specified on menu ... and when I asked for lemon cheesecake the waitress also had to return to say that this was no longer on the menu!
Great pub, food and service although crumble had a very hard topping so stick to main course
Lovely great quality food. Excellent range of drinks. Great service.
Well spaced tables, good menu, excellent service, hearty and tasty food. Strongly recommended
Great pizza on the rear terrace and the star pizza is a fab choice and very substantial.
Lovey Cotswold pub which is worth the small extra effort to find, you will not be disappointed. Excellent choice of menu away from the usual bland and boring pub food served by many. The Ox Cheek was superb. Staff couldn’t be more helpful. We have already booked to return soon.
First time eating here after finding the pub on a Sunday walk. Really good food, served by friendly staff in a lovely setting. Nice menu too. Service took slightly longer than I would have liked but the pub was really busy (even on a Tuesday night) and the food was definitely worth waiting for so not a problem.
We had really lovely food and the service was friendly and efficient. Thank you for a very pleasant evening.
Was disappointed, one staff member was lovely but the whole experience was ruined by time and others. The food was salty , some members weren’t friendly or overly nice , the wait time not only for food but rather clearing stuff away was ridiculous. I didn’t feel I wanted to tip because of being let down but obviously the fine print on the bottom of the menus said I had to do so. I’d return but might wait a bit of time to see if the reviews help management knuckle down on service in order to better themselves.
The food was exceptional, really tasty and great quality. Only spoiled with somewhat slow service, we did arrive early, but were there a long time before we got served, with others coming and being served much quicker.
Fabulous Sunday roast. Good service. Great location.
WE arrived late and a large party had come in so it was slow before we could order food, but we understood that this was our fault. We had drinks and nibbles in the meantime. when we got the food, it was very good.
Food was rather bland and expensive. Very quiet to the point that any noise made seemed to amplified beyond normal. Staff were pleasant though.
Delicious sea bream, with yummy sweet potato fries. The scallops here are very tender and served with a very good pea purée
Lovely lunch. Very busy for a Monday. Service was slow but staff lovely and friendly and were doing their best. Definitely will return.
Lovely evening. Service and food was fab. Would recommend
Delicious lunch really enjoyed it. Look forward to return
Fantastic pub food, served in lovely surroundings. The best steak ever! We chose to eat here because the reviews were so good, and they weren’t wrong! Will definitely be back.
Excellent place to eat
Lovely size portions
pizza was great. service was friendly and fast. we weren't offered knives and forks which made eating the soggy bits hard.
Food was delicious, staff were welcoming and friendly
Fabulous pizzas in delightful setting. Service a bit vague but well-intended, so all good overall. Will definitely go again.
Would highly recommend the Cat. Without a doubt it’s the best pub in the area.
We were celebrating an anniversary. We booked in advance and was sad to see the table we were given.
We enjoyed a lovely familly meal (6 of us aged 60 to 88). The service was very good and food excellent. There was a bit of noise from some young children nearby but this was not a problem.
Excellent pub and as we were staying in The village it was lovely to be able to walk both ways!
Good varied menu with vegetarian choices.
Lovely food from Mario and his team (as always) and atmosphere. Service a little ‘off’ - slow, too much standing and chatting rather than keeping an eye on the tables.
Beautiful pub with amazing food. Good selection of well conditioned ales. Social distancing rules still enforced, so book ahead for food. Staff are lovely and do their best to accommodate everyone as much as possible.
The staff were very pleasant and attentive and the meal, when it arrived, was delicious. Unfortunately there was a very long wait for the food to be brought to us. Forty five minutes from ordering to delivery is excessive.
We had an absolutely delicious Sunday Roast here. The Cat & Custard Pot had fabulous service, lovely decor & outside areas to eat/drink and great ambiance. Would definitely return & would recommend to visit.
Dog friendly too!
Good choice for a Sunday roast. Lovely location. Must try the pizza another time.
Food was nicely cooked and well presented. Certainly big enough portions, although for what I'd say is higher end prices being £18 for the Sunday roast beef, it should be...... as for the drinks!...... Something I don't agree with is 10% gratuity added to the bill whether good service or not, the customer should make up their own mind on this.
The menu had a fairly small selection but cleverly caters for all tastes and moods. The food was of a very high standard offering excellent value for money, particularly when compared to other restaurants and gastro pubs in the area which in some cases are more style over substance.
If you want excellent food in a relaxed setting, options to eat in or outside, you can't go wrong with the Cat and Custard Pot.
What a shame, the food content may have started life well but it was crucified in the Kitchen, then served just about warm to the table. on complaining, the staff were sympathetic and offered to warm it up but you just can't warm up scallops. That was it, just Goodbye.
